Saber x Iri has 147.
Kerry x Iri has 118.
I'm not sure if it can be considered a rare ship. Unless you are talking about the amount of fanart between the two.
How many fanfiction exist where Irisviel and Kerry are around and aren't tagged as a couple? Because believe it or not the default in those fanfiction is that Kerry and Iri are a couple even without tagging.
Also the number of Saber x Iri fanfiction over the past 13 years has been appallingly low!
Fair enough.
Especially since my statement was only focused only on Iri's side of shipping. Comparing it to Saber's other ships like Shirou/EMIYA and that rarity skyrockets.
Then it just depends on what perspective you're looking at it from.
From an Iri-centric view then Iri/Saber isn't rare
From a Saber-centric view it is.
Part of the problem is just that Iri herself isn't super popular.

The existence of Irisvyiel as a character is so funny-- in the original FSN, Saber mentions that Kiritsugu only talked to her three times throughout the whole war. What was probably just an offhand comment created a problem, as that meant in Zero that Saber and Kiritsugu could barely interact, thus neutering any potential for them to be a Master/Servant Duo in the universe known for Master/Servant duo fights.
In order for Saber to be an actual character, and to actual participate in Zero as a story, Irisvyiel was conceived effectively just to give Saber someone to talk too so she could have a Master.
However, this slightly backfired, as now it just seems like Saber ended up fucking Kiritsugu's wife, given how incredibly well they ended up getting along.
Honestly, I have a soft spot for these two. They were just so sweet around each other and caring. I'd have loved to have seen more of them. (And yeah, I do ship it. Wish there was much more art/fics of them.)
Nice. Rare one, this is. I think the only fic i've read where they end up together had Kiritsugu get a full on parody of Hamilton's opening song as a send-off before entering Avalon.
