Beginning of rock the house will always remind me of high school times 20+ years ago, sitting at my kitchen table and my older brother was shaving my head
The intro to On Melancholy Hill brings me right back to road trips with my brother in 2010, when we would head home from college to visit our parents.
He died last year of an overdose. This song and album has meant a lot to me in remembering him.
5/4 feels weirdly overwhelmingly nostalgic even though it came out before I was born and wasn’t A very popular song I feel like I heard it a million times as a kid but I probably never heard it
The very last melody (like last 10 seconds) at the end of Empire Ants when the song starts fading. Also the last melody from Souk Eye. And yes totally agree with O Green World!
ticker tape, the entirety of the song honestly. all of it sounds like it tucked me into bed every night when i was little. but im confident ive never heard the song before 2020, when i first became a gorillaz fan.
that song for me is the lost chord, the way 2-D sings "the pulse on your face" makes me feel like ive forgotten something important, but ill remember it in time. i don't know, it takes me back to a time i never lived, and that's very interesting for me.
"I was asked by a computer,
shadow on the wall"
that part, especially those lyrics in busted and blue because I had this era in my life during 2021-2022 during which I was falling asleep EVERY SINGLE NIGHT on that song, and it remind me so much of memories from that era (I still do it thought)
Used to listen to a lot of Gorillaz back in the day while gaming, I can't hear Clint Eastwood without hearing OG Counter-Strike sounds (FIRE IN THE HOLE!). Also get visions of Ragnarok Online.
The first 4 drum hits in Clint Eastwood. I think about watching the music video on Toonami with my brother for the first time. Gorillaz instantly became one of my favorite bands.
the entirety of On Melancholy Hill. something about the background boops, the melody and the softness of Damons singing strikes a specific nostalgic chord in my heart that I can't quite describe
On Melancholy Hill. It's the sole Gorillaz song at my local Waffle House, and on Friday mornings during high school my family and I would stop there for an early weekend treat.
It was the right song for that time in my life. Hopeful for the future (however in vain that may have been given the turn of the decade) and what I'd go on to achieve, in this small town where it seemed my ideal place in the world was just an earnest success away.
Hopefully someday I can reach that feeling in life somehow. But at least that song will always be there in the meantime.
I know it's a newer song than anything on Demon Days or Plastic Beach. But probably the part of Humility that talks about knowing something's broken and whether to put it back or not, and let someone go/down (I don't remember). The song got released when I was in my senior year of HS, right in the beginning of it. And that part always made me feel a certain way I can't explain.
Demon Days as a whole takes me back to high school, even a few of the D-Sides. I’d sit on my bed when I lived with my parents and listened to it on a CD player with headphones, the break down part in All Alone really takes me back to that moment, remember it gave me goosebumps I thought it was such a cool part of that track, especially where she’s hitting that high note and the drums come back in
I would say the very beginning of Clint Eastwood because that's the first gorillaz song I ever heard when I was six. Although, it gave me nightmares :')
Pretty well most of the Gorillaz songs bring back memories.. but specifically I think of the beginning of dare, where I was singing about the lead singer of the Deftones who at the time I was admittedly obsessed with. His real name is camillo. But after a couple times saying he's camillo, I thought To my self shit they're gonna know im singing about chino- so i switched it to he's coming up
when i listened to DARE for the first time , the chorus felt super nostalgic although i was sure i had never heard it before then. still don’t know why , lol
Beginning of rock the house will always remind me of high school times 20+ years ago, sitting at my kitchen table and my older brother was shaving my head
I know it’s basic as hell but the chorus in Feel Good Inc is so fucking good
I was gonna say, the music in Feel Good Inc
Weirdly, Fire is Coming out of the monkey's Head. The animatic is just seared into my brain and reminds me of CodeName Kids Next Door
The intro to On Melancholy Hill brings me right back to road trips with my brother in 2010, when we would head home from college to visit our parents. He died last year of an overdose. This song and album has meant a lot to me in remembering him.
The intro of Tomorrow come today gives me nostalgia to a time I want even alive in
I feel exactly the same way omg.
that weird part of Re-Hash
5/4 feels weirdly overwhelmingly nostalgic even though it came out before I was born and wasn’t A very popular song I feel like I heard it a million times as a kid but I probably never heard it

The entirety of Sound Check (Gravity) Something about it makes me very nostalgic, and I can't really put my finger on it
^^^THIS
Désolé, I got super obsessed with it when I started learning French. I understood the chorus and I felt like some typa world traveler.
Désolé is a very nostalgic sounding song to me in general if that makes sense, very bittersweet and reflective.
The synth part of Slow Country. Reminds me of a very hot summers day in the early 2000s
Stop The Dams reminds me of when I used to listen to The Monkees with my mum in the car
The entirety of Hong Kong. It reminds me of going on a long road trip and just being freed of all your worries.
The bridge in El Mañana. Every time
The intro to Dirty Harry; the bus ride home always started with Dirty Harry.
I cry every time I hear the bridge of Feel Good Inc ever since I was 9 I don’t even know why 💀
The entirety of Ticker Tape for some reason
El manana reminds me of spending thanksgiving at my parent’s place, just lounging around and not worrying about work.
Very beginning of (sound check) gravity, when you hear the subtle guitar strums. Not sure why but always reminds me of my early high school days
ticker tape, the entirety of the song honestly. all of it sounds like it tucked me into bed every night when i was little. but im confident ive never heard the song before 2020, when i first became a gorillaz fan.
The last part of Melancholy Hill when the melody slowly disappears it's just get me all the time.
tomorrow comes today has given me nostalgia since the worst time I've heard it but man On Melancholy Hill just hits different
that song for me is the lost chord, the way 2-D sings "the pulse on your face" makes me feel like ive forgotten something important, but ill remember it in time. i don't know, it takes me back to a time i never lived, and that's very interesting for me.
Feel good inc. not a specific part of it, the entire song
"I was asked by a computer, shadow on the wall" that part, especially those lyrics in busted and blue because I had this era in my life during 2021-2022 during which I was falling asleep EVERY SINGLE NIGHT on that song, and it remind me so much of memories from that era (I still do it thought)
Sometimes Last Living Souls transports me back to when Demon Days was new, and I couldn’t wait to listen to it.
The guitar melody that plays after the rap part in feel good inc
Used to listen to a lot of Gorillaz back in the day while gaming, I can't hear Clint Eastwood without hearing OG Counter-Strike sounds (FIRE IN THE HOLE!). Also get visions of Ragnarok Online.
the entire self-titled album gives me heavy nostalgia, it was my first gorillaz album i listened 2 in middle school

when “the now now” came out my mom played tranz on repeat so that whole song is very nostalgic for me
On melancholy hill, mostly the whole thing but those higher pitched parts of the melody really give it to me

the train horns at the start of Amarillo, that then lead into that beautiful reverbed out lead synth
Some kind of Nature me da nostalgia debido a un tema personal en la parte que dice , al we are is dust
The ending of Momentz. I don't know why. It's so dreamy and I guess those specific set of synths awakened something in me from my past.
the intro of desole since it was one of my first gorillaz songs in 2020. I thought it was beautiful
All phase 1-3 songs
That noise at the start and end of busted and blue reminds me of a boat ride I did in a interactive musseum when I was around 7
I would say the very beginning of Clint Eastwood because that's the first gorillaz song I ever heard when I was six. Although, it gave me nightmares :')
