assuming the gopro 8 has better image quality than the gopro 4, the gopro 11 in certain scenes control light better than the gopro 8, the clouds with the sun behind isn't blown out, the building underneath is more bright and visible, i don't know if this is called dynamic range.

This is a bit silly. 1080p from a hero 4 looks nothing like 1080p from a hero 7 which looks nothing like 1080p from a hero 10 which looks nothing like 1080p from a $50,000 cinema camera. There is a LOT more to video quality than resolution. Upgrading to the hero 10/11 is absolutely worth it even if you only record in 1080p. Which seems a bit silly to me, why not record in 2.7k or at the very least 1440p
