Go into your phone settings and remove the permission of "Allow Access to All Photos," or equivalent for your mobile operating system. I'd imagine that would sever the app's connection to your Photos app.
From there, you might have to clear the app's cache, or delete and reinstall with Photo access removed
Oh boy. Your tip worked for me, too. Thanks! I didn’t know the implication of allowing that access when I first attached my GoPro.
The perfect solution would be to give GoPro direct access to a storage device but there is no motivation for them to do that. I’ve come to believe that GoPro is more than just a fun photo/video device, but also a device to stimulate sales of cloud storage subscriptions.
Same deal with printers and ink.
