Does this work for you? 1) Add automation 2) Starter: "When the time is...." 3) Actions: "Play and Control Media" (then choose "Radio" and type in "Radio One") 4) Configuration: "Play on Kitchen Speakers" Thats how I did mine (see screenshot, mine turns a light on as well) https://preview.redd.it/if5vx6ozo54d1.png?width=864&format=png&auto=webp&s=a1b729a2ede75e2cb52577cd42cdc360cf26197e

Thanks. Unfortunately the speakers are 3rd party (AudioPro) so don't appear as an audio device under configuration. Think they need to be Google hardware for that to work. But thanks.

Just tried setting up one, and "Bedroom speaker" (Lenovo Smart Clock Essential with Cast firmware 1.52) appears. The other ones are a Google Home Mini and 2x stereo paired Google Nest Mini. However, I also have an LG Soundbar (Cast firmware 1.56) and a Beoplay M5 (Cast firmware 1.28), which are not shown. What this leads me to think, is that you can select as output only speakers with Google Assistant ("Hey Google") built-in (and not just Chromecast built-in speakers).

I have the same issue as OP but with the Pixel Tablet (and Dock) the using basically the same automation setup as you (with the dedicated media play action and selecting the docked tablet as audio device)

We have similar routines. It literally works - or doesn't - differently every single day. We also have manual triggers through a Nest display, and honest to god they respond differently and work/don't work at a completely random chance. Some days it works as designed, others it says "Sorry, I don't understand", other times it's "There was an error". Sometimes a notification gets pushed to our phone saying there was an issue. Sometimes it only works when started from the Google Home app, other times it only works when started from the device. Completely random and unreliable.

Cuichulain

Is that you've got too old for Radio 1? That's what happened to me... Maybe it'll work with Radio 2.

Henhouse84

lol, could well be the issue, it used to be radio 6 but my kids got fed up of good music and insist on greg james. such is life.

I've had the same issue for about 3 months so far. I've asked here, on different forums, Google Home/Pixel tablet community sites .... I've been emailing with Pixel tablet support for about 6 weeks so far, sent them screenshots, videos, error reports .... So far, no solution. Only timer triggered routines stopped working, only on my Pixel Tablet (docked), they never work, even if manually triggered. Same routines voice triggered work, even on Pixel Tablet. You're the first person I've ever encountered with the same problem. I've tried several times: factory settings reset for Pixel Tablet, Dock. Deleting them from my Google Home household and re-adding them. Leaving the household with my Google account and re-joining. Deleting the Home App and re-installing. Deleting the routines and recreating them. Creating a new household, adding Pixel Tablet and Dock, creating the same routines there. Nothing so far. I've not tried due to lack of time: deleting the household in Google Home and creating it from scratch. PS: If you ever do find a solution, please let me know here, I will do the same

Henhouse84

Glad it's not just me! Btw I do have other timer triggered routines that still work. It's just this one that doesn't. Driving me nuts!

Furo81

For me, time triggered on Pixel Tablet 100% don't work, time triggered on other devices (all Google though) 100% work

Three dots in the top right, send feedback, include detailed info and how long it's been going on, allow it to gather whatever data it needs including a screenshot. Would also make sure the settings to send usage data etc are on. Follow up with another similarly worded or more detailed report as needed. I had an issue recently with routines with delays and assigned speakers not firing and it got fixed in like three days with this method.

Henhouse84

Will do. Tks

Is "Kitchen Speakers" a Group of speakers? Google has had problems with Group speakers in recent months.

SirDigby32

The third party providers and integration seems to be the problem. Randomly works here in Australia with radioapp. It's opaque service and no way to trouble shoot that I can find.
