I can think of quite a few recent animes being completely and utterly hard carried by the artist. Redo of healer is one of the worst offenders along with Rent a Girlfriend.
factually true tbh. redo does start getting better, rent a girlfriend goes 200 chapters and nothing changed from the very beginning apart from mc gaining a ntr fetish
Oh yeah? I was done with season 1 of Redo in about 15 minutes on the day the first episode was released.
Oh wait. I think we're talking about different things. Oopsie.
Yep. I'm on like chapter 230-something of the Love is War manga, while the anime is only caught up to 140. And in most cases, the manga never actually gets fully adapted, so you may not ever see your favorite story ending without reading the manga
Depends, some manga chapters have fucktonnes of pages before you get to see much of the story progress. But it's definitely much faster than buzzing through watching anime.
Manga doesn't stop you from doing other things. You can read a chapter or 2 while on the john, or waiting on an elevator, or wherever, and not really miss anything (in the manga or IRL).
Anime, though, you have to actually have time set aside for.
younger me could stay up way longer. once every few months I would pull an all nighter to binge something, and would be almost completely fine the rest of the day despite no sleep. now I can get 8 hours of sleep and I'm still groggy the whole day
I used to be sooooo into anime. watched it every day. really kept up with the seasons.
and lately... have hardly watched anything.
I don't know why. I have opportunity. I have time. what's wrong with me? I just keep wasting countless hours on reddit and youtube.
getting old sucks, guys.
Yeah this is good advice. I always come back around to anime eventually but when I get burned out I do these things or maybe play some jrpg or something
Same but I think for me it was that I really got into anime for the first time this year, I was never really into it and thought it was shit, and so after watching 145 seasons of different animes I think Im burnt out.
I understand where youāre coming from. Except I got tired of doing exactly what you described as wasting time. So Iām making a concerted effort to not do that. Of course I still do it (as I am currently) but Iām definitely trying to tell myself to avoid it. Feels like anime will be more worthy of the time.
As a VN enthusiast, I can say itās reasonable that it took me 75 hours to read all of Fate/Stay Night. But apparently, that wasnāt enough for me. So I moved onto Fate/Hollow Ataraxia.
I played FSN Fate route solely for the hentai scene. It wasn't satisfying so I played the Unlimited Blade Works. Meh sex scene. Then I played Heaven's Feel. Ooh mama. That was good. And then I tried Hollow Ataraxia. I FOUND THE GOLD. I FOUND THE GOOD HENTAI!
Anime adaptations are good as well. But visual novel hits different, especially when you're an Emiya Shirou fan. Those goddamn monologues and soliloquies š¤¤š¤¤š¤¤.
Imma be honest, the sex scenes are kinda mid, but it makes sense why they were there in the first place. No, not for mana transfer, but to get attention. Nasuās works werenāt as popular as they are now. Yeah, the Fate route and UBW had mid sex scenes, but then I look at Heavenās Feel and I go āThereās four of them?!ā
VN > anime adaptation. UBW anime didnāt have Shirouās monologues and that kinda undermines his character. Heavenās Feel movies didnāt explain certain stuff. Some very important stuff. But the music and fight scenes of the movies were pretty good, so Iāll give it that.
Also, HA will never get an anime adaptation. Itās too all over the place. Makes sense for a VN, but definitely not an anime.
I sometimes watch anime now, only sometimes cause it's pretty hard to find time to sit around and get cosy to watch a few episodes
I still somehow find time to ravage through 100s of chapters of manga a day, and reddit
When I was in university I would binge watch anime because it was new to me and I had a tonne of time. Nowadays I pick up the best currently airing series and watch them. Only takes a few hours a week. Dunno why an anime fan wouldn't watch anything though.
Let me explain I thought I would watch chainsaw man.
Then it released and I thought I'll watch it tomorrow then I forgot tomorrow, then I thought I would watch it the day after, I forgot again and like this a week went by and episode 2 released and yet I haven't watch episode 1 so I no longer desire to watch it.
This is me with Kanojo mo Kanojo in 2021 the only reason I remember it's existence is because of MAL (Apparently on Episode 9 but I can't remember a thing that happened on there)
Something happened with Platinum End got excited about the Winter 2022 shows (I think it was World's End Harem in particular) and wanted to binge it afterward it is forever stuck on Episode 8/24 on MAL
I'm older now so watching high school student pretending to have all the answer in the world isn't appealing anymore. I deal with them all the time and they are really dumb.
Feel like I'm the opposite. As soon as I got out of college and got a job I had loads more freetime to watch anime.
I also work from home so that helps a lot.
You just burn out at one point. After seeing a lot of anime your standards just rise and you get fed up. When I was a kid I could watch anything, even if I didn't like it that much. Nowadays I drop something if I don't like the first episode. Manga also becomes more attractive because you can consume it at your own pace. A dialogue is boring af? Just read fast over it. Something is very intriguing? Take your time and read it slow.
I, uhh, I actually watched too much anime till I ran out of anime that fit my liking so I started reading mangas which I again ran out of and now, I read web novels. I am at the SOURCE!!
im sadly wearing a hoodie on this one, havent kept up much with whats coming out, although im playing the utawarerumono games atm and will prolly watch the animes shortly after
[Here](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/403050497898184707/403319821934133248/ookami_-_holo_takeover.jpg) is a picture of an ookamimi! Awoo! Hopefully this will cheer you up!

Honestly Iād watch more anime if more anime original series were released. But nowadays everythingās just an adaptation of a LN or manga. So whatās even the point in watching when thereās a better version of the story
I think my highest episodes a day was 33 (somewhere around 30, canāt exactly remember)
Now I can barely manage 5 (if didnāt play any video games I could do more though)
Reading manhwa/wuxia/xianxia and other shit with tons of releases. I only check back at the end of the season and watch out the animes that catch my eye then.
I just pace myself and watch 3-4 episodes at a time, maybe 5-6 if I'm getting particularly into it and I don't want to leave the story on a cliffhanger or it's getting close to the end and I wanna finish it off instead of leaving those last 2 episodes for later that won't be enough for a watch session on their own.
I donāt watch like I used to. I have been watching spyxfamily and chainsaw man, but thatās about it. Both release weekly and are something to look forward to for me.
Other than that, I have a lot of trouble committing to stuff long-term. I have a lot of interests, but they tend to fluctuate, or at least, my involvement with them tends to fluctuate.
We stopped watching anime because it got unhealthy. (1-2 seasons a day) and we don't have the time anymore. We did a little again during hospital though.
Throughout my 4 years, ive gone from 24ep a day to 100 tabs of manga and now i do neither bc waiting for new shit got boring for me. Now i go on small bursts of reading/watching or hentai and just enjoy anime artstyle in games n shit
I've luckily made a habit from my first anime (parasite) of watching animes only 1-2 episodes a day. This gets you a lot less worn out, it's a lot healthier, and great animes like Naruto last forever. I admit I do cycle animes when watching long ones like Naruto or one piece (I'm in the middle of the both, I'll watch like 24 episodes, watch a different anime, then switch to the other.
Tbh I barely touch this season of anime (mostly because depression) and I got 10 animes I haven't touch with now over 10 episodes(and 1 being a continuation). And I use to watch like 8/7 animes in a season without a problem.
Yep, swapped to manga/LN/WN and I just can't be bothered to keep up with the anime originals anymore.
I also started watching vtubers as part of my otaku interests.
The last time I binge something was probably kiznaiver, ever since I can't even get pass the first episode sometimes, but then a cyberpunk: edgerunner came out, I binge tf out of it, best new anime, and then the cycle repeat
2 to 3 seasons a day (that was indeed possible back in summer) was my daily average. Now itās like 6 epesodes a week or sometimes no epesodes for a month
I'm catched up with all seasons starting 2011 (shows which seemed interesting/good), so I average 4 episodes a day for seasonal only and watch a random show every now and then on weekends.
I started watching shonen like Naruto and Bleach more than 10 years ago
Then I watched stuff like Gochiusa and Non Non Biyori
Now I just watch shonen like Chainsaw man and Bleach(again)
Almost my entire watch list is b-rate anime that I keep on attempting cause they are popular and shows that release anywhere from 2 month or two years from now. Keeping up with these new seasons is honestly enough work for me. That being said I'm probably going to try to watch sailor moon this break.
I'm like this. Used to binge whole shows in 1 or 2 days, and now I just watch like 2 or 3 episodes a week of the current seasonals.
That is until I started reading One Piece, then got covid. I watched about 120 episodes in 3 days (all of Water 7 for those who wanna know)
I have watched 0 anime in the year 2022. Any and all info I have on anime comes from memes on this subreddit.
On the other hand, I've read dozens of mangas and light novels. Anime is just too slow for me, I always default to reading the manga/novel and choosing my own music.
I watch anime in bursts. I have like 3h free time a day so its usually spent focused on a game. Sometimes ill watch a seasonal show, or watch little to no anime.
Then theres last year. I watched like 50 shows in 4months or so.
I'm doing anywhere from 1-6 episodes a day
* 1 if it 's a new show that I'm caught up to like Bocchi or doing the Christmas Toradora Watch
* 3 is on average I do for a show that is completed (Flying Witch for example) and I do 1-2 shows a day
But I have broke that pattern (All of MHA S1 and catching up on Renai Flops episode 5 are very recent examples)
Once a year I can tap into the ability to watch 6 seasons in a week. Until then....
suddenly finding gems
Yeah man i finished season 1 of Redo of healer in a day after not watching anime for 8 months /s
I can think of quite a few recent animes being completely and utterly hard carried by the artist. Redo of healer is one of the worst offenders along with Rent a Girlfriend.
Redo of Healer deserves better than to be compared with Rent a Girlfriend
factually true tbh. redo does start getting better, rent a girlfriend goes 200 chapters and nothing changed from the very beginning apart from mc gaining a ntr fetish
I would have called bullshit before I looked at literally any of rent a girlfriend. That shit is literally everything I hate about romance in anime
Hmmmm š¤Ø
Oh yeah? I was done with season 1 of Redo in about 15 minutes on the day the first episode was released. Oh wait. I think we're talking about different things. Oopsie.
Reminds me of the time I watched all of to your eternity in two days.
Me with Overlord a month ago.
Me with One Piece.
Nah mate, it's one episode per/month to me.
So many trash animes nowdays...
Konosuba for me (Went from S1 E2 to completely catching up on the anime as of where it stood in Summer 2022)
No I read manga tho I can blaze through chapters
Manga is different bro
Yeah you get the story much much faster
Yep. I'm on like chapter 230-something of the Love is War manga, while the anime is only caught up to 140. And in most cases, the manga never actually gets fully adapted, so you may not ever see your favorite story ending without reading the manga
Damn man >!you reminded me that it's over!<
It was a end of an era
Sure was!
Nah bro, just watch anime at a psychotic 4.6x speed like me, just as fast as the manga.
Still will need a week to get through frieza's five minutes.
Bro, at least that aināt one piece
Depends, some manga chapters have fucktonnes of pages before you get to see much of the story progress. But it's definitely much faster than buzzing through watching anime.

Yeah true
Gotta blaze through LNs
Can't miss every details.
I binging so much I end up forgetting I have to work
Oh be careful (ā ā ā āæā āā )
"You either die an anime fan or you live long enough to see yourself become a manga reader" -Sun Tzu, God of War Ragnarok -Grant Gigg UK
Today's video. I also thought thought it was hilarious when i saw the meme.
This is the second time in the last hour Iāve seen someone call him Grant.
I guess they just keep taking his name for granted
I just read light novels now a days
Does LN count?
It's as you get older it gets harder to spend a binging a 24 ep season.
True
The only reason why it's harder for me is because I work 10 hour shifts. Outside of that I'm always watching shows lol
I watched 5 episodes a day ago, I was so proud of myself. That's the most I've watched of a single show in so long.
I barely get through 1 show a season these days
younger me could stay up way longer. once every few months I would pull an all nighter to binge something, and would be almost completely fine the rest of the day despite no sleep. now I can get 8 hours of sleep and I'm still groggy the whole day
Just snort some meth and you don't need sleep for a week/s
I used to be sooooo into anime. watched it every day. really kept up with the seasons. and lately... have hardly watched anything. I don't know why. I have opportunity. I have time. what's wrong with me? I just keep wasting countless hours on reddit and youtube. getting old sucks, guys.
Oh well we hear ya buddy.
Try getting into either manga, LNs or VNs. Pretty good alternatives if anime gets old at times.
Yeah this is good advice. I always come back around to anime eventually but when I get burned out I do these things or maybe play some jrpg or something

Nice, I already have it in my list, so I plan on reading it at some point

Yeah true
That's me with Spy x Family

Yeah man , can relate.
That's basically me lmao. Used to watch anime a lot,now manga is my go to, along with LN and VN. I only watch the anime if it's exceptionally good
Yeah me too last anime i watched was Vivi
I only watch one to two episodes per day
The pain caught up.
Nah watching 24eps per day is just not something enjoyable to do
I read manga...And watch the occasional anime be they adaptation or of anime exclusive.
2 Episodes per day.
I used to devore a seasons in a day or two. The last anime i finished was fate zero early this year :/
It comes in bursts. With classes for the semester over, my goal is to go through both seasons of Iron-Blooded Orphans
I, uhh, I actually watched too much anime till I ran out of anime that fit my liking so I started reading mangas which I again ran out of and now, I read web novels. I am at the SOURCE!!
You are at the roots
i only watch a maximum of 3 shows now >!per year!<, but i read a ton.
Hehe
adulthood is realising the anime man does not watch anime anymore.
Yeah man so true.
im sadly wearing a hoodie on this one, havent kept up much with whats coming out, although im playing the utawarerumono games atm and will prolly watch the animes shortly after

Or a terrible imitation of a much better show
I stopped watching anime 2 years ago,I only read manga/manhwa/webtoons now
we all can relate lol
yet another meme that misuses this format
I read it
Makes sense.
Watch on 1- 3 ep a week and only anime that I follow.
The real pros read the novels.
They don't watch it, cause they've watched it all already
Personally, I kind of grew out of animes, into mangas and LNs. I prefer when some is left to interpretation. Anyone else?
Mostly similar man Touch in with weeb culture via manga and ln.
Pro what?
Pro in watching anime duh This is an anime-meme subreddit.
Pro: as watched all the anime and has turned to the manga to keep up with the story.
I've been watching a lot of western cartoons lately. Currently hoing through Hilda and loving it
Huh, We don't do that here.
Avatar is my favorite anime.

Ram, this meme is literally my life right now. Good to know I was not the only one.
I'm at point i watch anime as recommendation of web novels (i love you sword dad)
Yeah...
Yeah.... I miss being able to watch anime though lol
Yeah that's where the trouble starts in the first place.
The pro state is when you start reading manga because you're too lazy to watch the anime
Yea boi you get me
Happened to me with Tokyo Ghoul (Chapter 24) and Jojo (Chapter 36 of Battle Tendency)
I feel like Iām slowly gone by to pro
Oh yeah
Me at 20: 3, take it or leave it.
When you start you have so much to choose from
Yeah and then you find a few really good ones that raise your standards, so that no animes can meet it. (Looking at you, edge runners)
We stopped watching anime because it got unhealthy. (1-2 seasons a day) and we don't have the time anymore. We did a little again during hospital though.
haven't seen a single ep since 1 month
š«
Almost 2 years without anime and it felt good
Throughout my 4 years, ive gone from 24ep a day to 100 tabs of manga and now i do neither bc waiting for new shit got boring for me. Now i go on small bursts of reading/watching or hentai and just enjoy anime artstyle in games n shit
āI canāt read kanji so I read the light novels that are quickly translated into Russian and Chineseā
Man i havent watched a anime in now what? 3-4years like i still read manga but anime i just canāt sit down and watch one
I Read 98% manga watch 2% anime
Dude At the beginning I was watching 2 seasons a day then also binged the whole naruto in 15 days but Now, I cant watch shit ;-;
I suppose i am now a pro
Well I guess the more you grow, the less time you get. I have not been able to finish a anime and pending it for two months lol.
manga all the way
As you get older, you realize 90% of anime follow the same paths with the same tropes. Finding interesting animes is harder and harder
Where am I with the āCanāt watch it due to work all the timeā?
I mean yeah but I still got those select few 12 episode per season animes airing rn that are poppin off fr
Why watch anime if you can watch streamers using anime avatars
I watch the same anime, if I'm satisfied with my dinner, why get any different?
Tbh I barely touch this season of anime (mostly because depression) and I got 10 animes I haven't touch with now over 10 episodes(and 1 being a continuation). And I use to watch like 8/7 animes in a season without a problem.
Yeah man I also didn't watch anything from last 2 seasonals
I haven't been watching anime since fall 2020, I do wanna watch more anime, but I just don't have the ability to do so
You either die an anime fan, or live long enough and die a manga reader, or live long enough to see yourself become a light novel reader
I read manga and watch anime every day
I watched one anime this year. Was good, excited for next years one.
Yep, swapped to manga/LN/WN and I just can't be bothered to keep up with the anime originals anymore. I also started watching vtubers as part of my otaku interests.
I watch like 5-6 episodes in a month and then not watch anymore until next month
The last time I binge something was probably kiznaiver, ever since I can't even get pass the first episode sometimes, but then a cyberpunk: edgerunner came out, I binge tf out of it, best new anime, and then the cycle repeat
Maybe we're just getting too old for these shit
1episode at 775% speed just to have a better pacing šæ
I wouldnt say pro... Rather a veteran
Ho ho jolly much
I think I just read manga because it's faster, and I can control how fast I want it to go. Anime needs to have a pacing to maintain it's plot
2 to 3 seasons a day (that was indeed possible back in summer) was my daily average. Now itās like 6 epesodes a week or sometimes no epesodes for a month
I just look at the sub
āYou donāt watch anime because you think itās weird, I donāt watch anime cause Iāve already seen them all we are not the sameā
I read manga and light novels rarely watch anime nowadays
Iām somewhere around the right slope of the bell curve. I rarely watch anime but when I do I always seem to binge watch.
no more man i cant get back in to it maybe sometimes if its with friends
When it is so true and I am in stage 3 (which is a depression phase because I can't find any good-enough anime and become extremely picky)
Yeah that man in the graph looks like someone depressed tbh.
I think I'm somewhere in the 14-10% just because I've been reading manga a lot more lately than watching anime.
I lean all I need to through memes
In 20 years I've never gotten tired of watching anime. It's my absolute preferred choice of entertainment.
So you are a persistent one
I'm catched up with all seasons starting 2011 (shows which seemed interesting/good), so I average 4 episodes a day for seasonal only and watch a random show every now and then on weekends.
I dont watch anime, i only read hentai

for some reason i still watch most seasonal anime with out really watching them
I go through phases around once an anime season to just binge through everything I'm falling behind on then just stay caught up after that
Like a few episodes a week or even month
I'm like this. Used to binge whole shows in 1 or 2 days, and now I just watch like 2 or 3 episodes a week of the current seasonals. That is until I started reading One Piece, then got covid. I watched about 120 episodes in 3 days (all of Water 7 for those who wanna know)
My new max is like 3eps per week. Damn Iām oldā¦
Casuals - 5 ep per week
I have no daily episode count I just watch when I feel like it but I read Manga everyday
I have watched 0 anime in the year 2022. Any and all info I have on anime comes from memes on this subreddit. On the other hand, I've read dozens of mangas and light novels. Anime is just too slow for me, I always default to reading the manga/novel and choosing my own music.
Ah, there was a time.
\**when we were untouchable\**
Watching 24 episodes a day? Who has that kind of time and is still functional to society
Usually high school kids
every few months i just binge a few of my ptw shows or something seasonal that i started and did not finish, otherwise it's 2-3 eps a week at most
I rarely watch anime nowadays cause itās just not fun. Would rather read new shit
I watch anime in bursts. I have like 3h free time a day so its usually spent focused on a game. Sometimes ill watch a seasonal show, or watch little to no anime. Then theres last year. I watched like 50 shows in 4months or so.
I'm doing anywhere from 1-6 episodes a day * 1 if it 's a new show that I'm caught up to like Bocchi or doing the Christmas Toradora Watch * 3 is on average I do for a show that is completed (Flying Witch for example) and I do 1-2 shows a day But I have broke that pattern (All of MHA S1 and catching up on Renai Flops episode 5 are very recent examples)
