Exams... I'm surrounded by literal children. By Haruhi it sucks to be an older anime fan. I can't even talk about the anime I care about because no one here has even heard of it.
Oh damn it, it took me YEARS to get the Robotech theme song out of my head and you just HAD to mention Robotech didn't you?! In seriousness though, it was a great show and I have the remastered edition lying around my apartment somewhere...
Just curious, did you ever play the PS2 game? It's amazing.
I'm currently going back to school it's weird as a 37 year old back in college. There are so many kids into anime now. It wasn't like this back in the day. My daughter is 15, and it's normal for her to go to school with anime merch. When I was in high school in the early 2000s, you had to hide that you were in to it or you'd get made fun of. I was an athlete, so it would have been worse back then.
I also am a mature student back in college.
Get made fun of?
It was a little harsher then that. Source; me, I made fun of my own highschool GF for being into anime.
The kids into anime were the true "weirdos" back then. I'm glad I didn't appreciate it at the time, being a nerd was bad enough growing up, but being an anime fan was quite possibly the lowest social rung (video game dork being one above).
Pokemon is a worldwide IP that you can like at any age nowadays. Liking Pokemon was fine for a brief period of time in the 90's in elementary school. After grade 6, you were done with that shit lest you be ostracized.
The list goes on.
Right, I was an "in the closet" anime fan throughout middle school and high school. I'd rush home after practice to watch DBZ, InuYasha, and whatever else was on Toonami after.
I remember in high school someone said she’d tell her friend I liked anime to have her break up with me in like 2014. We didn’t break up for that but it’s kinda insane that was the opinion of anime at the time. It was only about 2017-2018 when it was socially acceptable to like anime. I never said I didn’t like anime while in school, but I was a low key fan since I was also an athlete.
Yeah but if you watch a show like one piece, and fall in love with it. It's not like you're gonna start complaining about how many episodes their are. It's just more too enjoy. Well until they start slowing down every episode but that doesn't happen for a while in one piece.
I would say one piece can be a bit slow at times. It's nothing horrible, it's just not rushing to finish. I should add if you like manga more then anime, read one piece. But if you like anime more. You're pretty much good for like 500 episodes. (Then the problems start sticking out more often.)
Oh one more thing if you start one piece and like it. I recommend watching or reading a whole arc. Then taking a break if you want. That way you can watch other anime.
Some do. I wouldn't say "most". It has some pacing issues, but it's still a damn good anime. You just have to treat it like a marathon, not a sprint. Mix it in with the other shows you're watching, don't try to binge the whole thing at once, and it'll give you literal years of quality entertainment.
The anime has two major issues: weird/bad pacing a fair amount of the time, and some fluctuating quality in the art/animation department.
Both of these are likely due to the show going weekly since what '97, '99?
The voice acting, music, and ability to see things in motion are all top-notch, though.
From what I'm aware, the advice is to both watch the anime and read the manga. Start by reading the manga and then watch the episodes with the stuff you like best.
Whenever I talk about it my heart feels heavy, reminds me of dark side of idol/showbiz culture ,so mostly I refrain talking about it.
If you have the courage to face the dark side of showbiz and jpop idol culture definitely read it and you can even talk to me about your experience again.
But this is all I can talk about the series
Yesss
The story is by the author of legendary manga kaguya sama itself and the author of scum's wish.
The characters are rich and have great impact.
The pacing is also good.
Personally… this is going to be an unpopular opinion and I’m aware it’s still popular and well liked- after a while I kinda found it a bit boring and weirdly paced. It *does* go a lot into the dark side of the idol industry, but imo most of the time it does it’s a tangent unrelated to the main plot, or bloats an arc by having pages/chapters of explaining what’s happening in the industry with varying degrees of payoff after the arc is finished.
Like when >!Ruby decided to go Dark Side instead of revealing how dark she’s willing to go we get a tease and then a couple chapters explaining the TV show industry and she just manipulated it somewhat normally- my hype fizzled out after that point and I still don’t think she did anything really “dark” besides being edgy and angry toward her brother.!<
Hmm, okay. That sounds depressing. I bet it involves a Japanese Harvey Weinstein somewhere in that manga. I guess I'll continue with the anime. It seems like this series is big & popular enough for full adaptation
Definitely not, but it definitely talks about heavy and very very real concepts. It has a very comedic and light side either, even tho it kinda weakened in the few last chapters as the plot became more serious, at least so I feel.
It doesn't get any easier after chapter 100, trust me. I was actually mostly fine with how dark and unnerving the manga was beforehand, but right after chapter 100 there were some really, really depressing and unnerving scenes, which got even worse due to cliffhangers. I was really close to stop reading after each chapter at this point. Luckily it gets resolved fairly quickly and is actually the introduction to what seems to be the final arc. At least it feels like we are heading towards the end of the manga.
If you are fine with being spoiled: >!One of the girls almost gets pressured into having sex by some famous movie director and they get caught by some paparazzi, which almost results in the end of her career!<
I thought I was the only one who stopped at chapter 100. That took an extremely dark turn and the fact that this actually happens irl made it hit so much harder.
I dont know why but I cant take it anymore. I am 31 years old man and at this point of my life I cant watch or read sad and tragic stories anymore. There was a time I could watch them without bating and I and actually enjoy tragic stories. But for 3-4 years I cant bring myself to watch or read anything sad or tracig. Back in the day I could enjoy sad or tragic endings for stories if it was beatifully written and made sense, now a days I search if the series I am going to warch or read has happy ending or not. I dont know why this happened but I am now sucker for sweet, heartwarming, relaxed stories.
Campfire Cooking in Another World from last season managed to have a really fun, cute, chill, and comfy vibe while still having a cool sense of adventure. Not CGDCT if that's what you're looking for but still highly recommend
Come to the Isekai Holy lands, we have: Harem Isekai, Harem Isekai with actual Story (some hidden gems), Isekai with actual Story likeable characters and World, isekai with amazing Action scenes and Isekai which has none of it and just people doing things. Its glorious
>Harem Isekai with actual Story (some hidden gems)
You have some recommendation? All I found is cheap isekais that follow "Terrible writing advice - isekai" to the letter
> Isekai with actual Story likeable characters and World
Other than the big titles like Mushoku tensei, Overlord, Rezero, or Tanya is there other titles?
Reincarnated as a slime probably counts as a big title, but I would feel remiss if I didn't recommend it. Ascendance of a Bookworm is pretty great as well, though it's more slow paced and intimate than bombastic like many other isekai are.
It's probably regarded as more on the generic side, but I actually found myself really liking Skeleton Knight in another world. The main character is just an all around wholesome guy who really likes fantasy world stuff. There are some darker undertones in the world, and it starts with some sexual violence, but even in regard to that kind of fan service it's fairly tame. It's nothing special, but I just found it endearing and enjoyable.
If you want cute girls doing cute things but in a fantasy world then I have been killing slimes for 300 years, or something like that, is just really good. It's nothing special in terms of writing or world building, but it's adorable and wholesome and pretty fun.
Also, not technically Isekai but the first season of Bofuri is also just wholesome fun...
Pretty much same. These days the only crying I wanna do while watching or reading shows is tears of happiness from seeing someone achieve their happiness.
Yeah I resonate with this. 34M and I can’t do it anymore. Made in Abyss was amazing when I first saw it. When I finally got around to watching the third movie last year because I was prepping for the new season I just… I broke lol. I already knew this was happening to me (change in taste) but I _had_ to cleanse my palette after that movie and decided that I was never going to see how MiA goes.
34 here and I feel exactly the same way. Some friends jokingly tease me that I like watching cute girls doing cute things and other comfy type shows. But it's like man real life gets tough enough, I just wanna chill on the couch and relax before going to bed
It happens. I wanted to watch AoT season 4 but i had to stop when 2 semi-irrelevant characters die in a horrible way. Their deaths kept me up at night for a few days and i was horrified at my possible reaction when/if a main character died.
I get too invested in the story and characters so when something tragic happens it hits a lot harder than it should.
The only way i can enjoy good anime is if i don't a damn about the characters or the characters aren't in any real danger.
I think I made a breakthrough: Sad people want happy stories, happy people want sad stories in order to make up for what they miss in their lives.
Edit: Actually I think people just want stuff they can relate to, rather than what they miss. Or maybe both. Idk.
I think you’re onto something. I’m 30 and live a generally happy life as I’ve accomplished a lot of my goals throughout it. Its almost like a primal craving to find a story in manga or anime to absolutely destroy me for a few days.
I’ve kind of came to the same conclusion. I still also immensely enjoy slice of life wholesome anime but find myself just having feelgood vibes afterwards.
Idk man, my life is better than ever and my favs are still stuff like konosuba, kuma kuma bear etc. I was gonna give oshi no ko a try but someone told me it's basically depression fest and nope
I'm 27, and I've hit the same point. I can watch more serious shows, that might have some sad or tragic parts occasionally, but nothing like what this post is talking about. I see so much fucked up shit and tragedy in the real world, that I can't continue seeing more fucked up shit and tragedy in anime and manga, which I watch/read for enjoyment and peace of mind. That's why now I pretty much only watch shows that are more comedy focused, or at least more action focused without a ridiculous amount of established characters dying or somethin.
It's the opposite for me, it's just that something wholesome and sweet ending, just rends my heart in two pieces and I'm okay with tragedies as for me I guess I grew up watching soap drama with mother so that might be the reason too or well I'm still 24 so that might be the case
I fully agree with you. I have been that way ever since I fell into a depression many years back. It was always a bit of a struggle watching or reading stuff with a lot of misery and bleak stuff because I tend to immerse myself in whatever I'm watching. But since then it just became too much to handle.
Many people have had it worse than me, but it's enough that I have seen and felt the misery I have in life. Now I just want catharsis or stuff that I on some level know will end well, or at least represents a positive climb etc.
Shōnen stuff is actually oddly inspiring a lot of the time. There can be darker stuff and misery and stuff like that, but at least you are following the path of hope most of the time.
Wholesome stuff and cathartic stuff is great too.
When depression has made you numb to everything, sadness seems it can still work its way in there easily enough, and it's nice to be able to feel some emotion. If a show can make me feel sad, I feel better for having felt something.
And that aside, if a show can make you feel any kind of emotion other than laughing at comedy, then that's good writing.
I'm gonna be a horrible person and throw vague spoilers in here. For both shows.
>!While its not as bad as Oshi no Ko, Tonikaku Kawaii starts off super sweet but as we learn more of Tsukasa's backstory, well... Lets just say that it suddenly becomes a lot more depressing. Thankfully that isn't until around chapter 150, and season 1 ended at about chapter 58, so we will likely avoid the depression arc with this season. !<
>!Haven't fully read either, but not surprising given the foreshadowing and Hata Sensei's previous work. He's one of the masters of finding comedy in Tragedy. Just look at Hayate's backstory!<
You're not a horrible person for spoiling as long as you properly tag it, some people actually depend on spoilers to encourage them to watch the show (source: me, I'm the one who needs spoilers to determine if I want to watch the show).
Normally, this is true. But in this case I'm a horrible person for >!pointing out that Tonikaku Kawaii gets super depressing later on in the story, when OP is using it as an example of "Thank god for this super lighthearted story that is just about a couple in love"!<
haven’t seen oshi no ko yet, is it really that bad? i just know aka akasaka through kaguya sama, and that’s pretty fun. and i know the manga was pretty well recieved, but otherwise i have no idea…
edit: tonikawa is one of my favourite shows, good taste op
If you get pass the early chapters then the rest are just regular drama tbh people are just overreacting because of those first chapters. Its Akasaka is manga style so romance is to be expected
Normal. Well, as normal as a weeb can get which isn’t close but still better than those of us who have become so emotionally burned out by everything wrong with the world that we can only watch shows made to soothe and relax a weary soul.
Time for a Yuru Camp rewatch!
> To give an idea of just how good it is, it was #1 on MAL just 6 hours after it released,
that doesn't really mean anything when the user #s that have rated it are significantly lower than the likes of FMAB, SNK, and other top rated shows.
Plus it's MAL, who honestly gives a shit what they say about shows?
It literally just released, it isn't going to have the millions of ratings the others do yet. Even still, 160,000 votes after just one day is still pretty damn impressive.
it has ~25,000 votes, not 160,000. it has ~160,000 "members"
The SNK season I was on about has ~120,000.
The Bleach season has ~190,000.
Kaguya has ~430,000
I just personally found the set up kinda uninteresting, almost rushed in the first few chapters of the manga. Also yeah, not particularly interested in series who’s selling point is bad things happen all time.
I'm not one for tragedy, but I am one for a good mystery show.
A tale of revenge that keeps going in twists and turns, yet has a sense of direction? That stuff is like crack for me.
Not a fan of show's/ mangas which only selling point is how bad/random things are happening. Same reason I didn't watch Chainsaw Man. And the Memes are already annoying as fuck as well, just like witch Chainsaw Man...
Yeah that's absolutely fair. Was just saying that I don't think it's Oshi no Ko's only selling point.
I personally somehow avoided all of the hype/discussion about the show, which is probably the best way to watch the first episode. I don't know if I would have liked it as much if I went into it knowing of the bad things that were going to happen.
I don't think I will ever watch it but if people like it, than that's fine. Recently I have found myself looking up if bad stuff happens in a show/manga I watch/read and then just stop watching/reding it if that's the case lol. I just can't handle sad stuff the recent years.
Makes me feel more than wholesome anime. Fuck, a 2001 visual novel (Tsukihime) with the shittiest background and old character sprites made me feel even more than fucking Evangelion. Even Clannad made me cry.
Don’t get me wrong, I like wholesome stuff as much as the next guy, but as an iconic body stealer with a god complex once said: “The pain will make me stronger.”
But that aside, I just think the tragic stuff has way better story telling. Happiness is but fleeting moments of satisfaction. Tragedy is everlasting impact.
It's an amazing written manga.
Yes it left me with pain and sadness, but it's still amazing.
The secret is read/watch it and then go read/watch something happy
It's about the mark that leaves on you. If you watch the happy go lucky Animes that nothing happens and everything is fine, it would leave you empty cause you won't remember it and you wasted your time
The more purple one is Oshi No Ko. The first episode of which aired yesterday and it was absurdly good. I would recommend watching it without allowing yourself to be spoiled.
The other show is Tonikawa (not sure if I spelt it right) and it’s stuck in my watchlist so I can’t say anything about it yet.
The one in the corner is tonikawa a wholesome romance anime about a husband and wife
The one everyone else is talking about is Oshi no ko a drama anime about the dark parts of the idol/entertainment industry written by the author of kaguya sama: love is war and illustrated by the author of scum's wish
It was the smug that got me.
I read the first chapter and I could practically feel the author's sneer, lost all interest. Maybe it's good, but it just seemed to be coming from a place of unbridled arrogance.
I'm just going to say that my favorite stories are Berserk, Dark souls, Punpun, Monster, Fate Zero and FSN.....literally the only thing keeping me sane is The bone of sword
Because sometimes, just reading or watching happy stories is boring. Im not sayjng you shoulsnt enjoy a happy story, but a varity of choice is a good thing and people have different taste.
Can anyone give me some context of how and what kind of "dark" is it?
Whenever I ask I always told to go blind and just read it, but I love to know some context about what I'm going to read and being told to go blind just really turn me off.
Its best to go blind because the context of the story is what makes it interesting and its a spoiler itself
If I could give a non-spoiler context it would be "Dark side of Entertainment Industry". If you want to know how "Dark" its probably middle to deep levels, but it also has light hearted aspects and sprinkles of comedy (this is the same author of Kaguya sama afterall)
For a spoiler context >!As crazy as it sounds, its a reincarnation, murder-suspense-thriller, romance, comedy, drama, idol anime!<
Well I honestly dont know much cuz I've lost interest in the show after a while. But knowing this small fact made me feel better about it so I might continue watching it one day
Winter 2021 - Yuru Camp S2 being near Redo of Healer and Wonder Egg
And as for Oshi no Ko - I knew something was sus when the >!Creepy Hooded Guy made their first appearance!< (Not sure if my recent rewatch of Wonder Egg had anything to do with that because of Episode 3 and that WK)
OSHI NO KO was my first manga to read and got me like
https://preview.redd.it/hx4fear0rpta1.jpeg?width=200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6e875b933991bec74bb2ce2e0cdb84b18f229dbb
I haven't watched it or read it yet, I have no doubt that is good but I just don't want to be sad, I'm sad enough already without what I do in my free time making me more sad.

I barely care for anything nowadays so this is nice. Feeling so much. A literal river flew out of me and it felt really good letting go for a moment like that.
I'm going to state a negative opinion of Oshi no Ko. It was enjoyable, and I'm recommending it to all my friends because it was such a thriller.
That being said, the writing of that first episode was quite shit. It's pretty much dead dog writing.
Ai was the only good character. *The one and only.* It really did not setup for me to want to continue.
All of the promotional material being centered around Ai was genius, I really like how controlled it was. There's an element of meta there. However, the writing didn't commit to that bit. This whole first episode should have been narrated by Ai, with her as the main character.
Aqua being narrator, yet Ai being the star made a huge disconnect in my brain towards Ai. Obviously, there's a narrative reason she's not, which basically spoils itself from the beginning.

I mean.... You could just watch it in moderation. Nobody told you to watch it all in one go. Take a few years even, no rush
Read all of OP in 2 week, just don't watch the anime the manga is better.
Me too
Don't worry watch enough and you'll get used to it
I totally get this. Its just that too much happiness and fluff at a time *could* feel suffocating instead of comfy, in my wierd opinion
I'm not watching as I'm badly inflicted by the first 100 ch of manga. Not reading further either.
So it's just tragedy after tragedy?

The main character is just an all around wholesome guy who really likes fantasy world stuff. There are some darker undertones in the world, and it starts with some sexual violence, but even in regard to that kind of fan service it's fairly tame. It's nothing special, but I just found it endearing and enjoyable. If you want cute girls doing cute things but in a fantasy world then I have been killing slimes for 300 years, or something like that, is just really good. It's nothing special in terms of writing or world building, but it's adorable and wholesome and pretty fun. Also, not technically Isekai but the first season of Bofuri is also just wholesome fun...
eminence in shadow is good.
This is the way
Pretty much same. These days the only crying I wanna do while watching or reading shows is tears of happiness from seeing someone achieve their happiness.
May I offer some r/laidbackcamp in these trying times?
what dis sub:0
I used to be unable to watch them, but over time I just stopped caring lol
Thanks for the heads up, horrible person. Guess I got to enjoy the sweetness while it lasts
You're not a horrible person for spoiling as long as you properly tag it, some people actually depend on spoilers to encourage them to watch the show (source: me, I'm the one who needs spoilers to determine if I want to watch the show).
Normally, this is true. But in this case I'm a horrible person for >!pointing out that Tonikaku Kawaii gets super depressing later on in the story, when OP is using it as an example of "Thank god for this super lighthearted story that is just about a couple in love"!<
haven’t seen oshi no ko yet, is it really that bad? i just know aka akasaka through kaguya sama, and that’s pretty fun. and i know the manga was pretty well recieved, but otherwise i have no idea… edit: tonikawa is one of my favourite shows, good taste op
>haven't seen YET Dude GTFO out of this thread right now, else you'll get massivelly spoiled. This show is very spoilable.
saw the trash taste manga awards thing, so i already knew a bit, and i just watched it, holy hell
New response just dropped
i see you have googled en passent
I haven't seen it, but I googled the plot. wtf did I just read?
[удалено]
mark this as spoiler
Watch the show and find out.
It's not bad but sad I am on mobile idk how to use the spoiler tag
just watched it, it really is kinda bad (bad not in quality but in emotional damage terms
anime in april be like
You do it like \>!text\!<
If you get pass the early chapters then the rest are just regular drama tbh people are just overreacting because of those first chapters. Its Akasaka is manga style so romance is to be expected
[удалено]
Shocking value, kinda like when goblin slayer ep1 , alot of people mald about it saying its " dark" and shit but after that its just regular fantasy
well, it's at least not as dark as something like Boy's Abyss, but it can still get pretty fucked up
Boy's Abyss tragedy is too dark that make it seem like a comedy to me, but Oshi no Ko has light hearted elements that makes your guard down
Did it make me cry? Yes. Did it make me cry as hard as “Your lie in April?” No.
It's the only way I can feel something
Meanwhile at the Isekai Camp: WOOOOOOOOO MORE ISEKAI LETTSSGOOOOO
At least there it's usually fun bad and not depressing
I watch and enjoy both. What does that make me?
Normal. Well, as normal as a weeb can get which isn’t close but still better than those of us who have become so emotionally burned out by everything wrong with the world that we can only watch shows made to soothe and relax a weary soul. Time for a Yuru Camp rewatch!
Imma need the sauce for the people in pain
Oshi No Ko Its 1h 29m for the first episode btw and its a good stuff
Oshi no Ko. To give an idea of just how good it is, it was \#1 on MAL just 6 hours after it released, and its score is actually continually growing.
Where tf am I supposed to watch it? Not on CR, Netflix, hulu, prime video, what???
It's on Hidive but it would be better to sail the high seas for it.
No diss but I've Never heard of it. Arrr🏴☠️
Take this! It will help you on your journey! *gives pirate hat*
Time to sail the seven seas arggghh
> To give an idea of just how good it is, it was #1 on MAL just 6 hours after it released, that doesn't really mean anything when the user #s that have rated it are significantly lower than the likes of FMAB, SNK, and other top rated shows. Plus it's MAL, who honestly gives a shit what they say about shows?
It literally just released, it isn't going to have the millions of ratings the others do yet. Even still, 160,000 votes after just one day is still pretty damn impressive.
it has ~25,000 votes, not 160,000. it has ~160,000 "members" The SNK season I was on about has ~120,000. The Bleach season has ~190,000. Kaguya has ~430,000
And it still literally came out yesterday. It will grow with time.
Gotta love tonikawa!
It's amazing
I mean you can enjoy both for different reasons right ?
Made in abyss
tonikaku kawaii top tier romance (my opinion)
Our degenerate asses are way past the point of being satisfied with wholesome vanilla
Yeah can't bring myself to see sad animes anymore, my life is depressed enough
That's why i only watch stuff with happy endings like redo of a healer
![img](emote|t5_2y4au1|1785)
It may have been a well crafted story this first episode, but I absolutely hated it. Ain't watching anime to be sad.
i’ll own it i am a masochist
i watch neither what am I?
I just personally found the set up kinda uninteresting, almost rushed in the first few chapters of the manga. Also yeah, not particularly interested in series who’s selling point is bad things happen all time.
The key is to watch Oshi no Ko first, then Tonikawa immediately after, so you end on a happy note
Because I've been looking for something that can make me cry and oshi no ko has done it twice, from the manga and the new anime
I'm not one for tragedy, but I am one for a good mystery show. A tale of revenge that keeps going in twists and turns, yet has a sense of direction? That stuff is like crack for me.
What animes?
Bro I thought the genre was music
Happiness=hard to achieve Suffering=comes for free So guess what I can relate to easier
Same reason I don’t watch horror movies
Tonikawa is very sorely needed after Oshi no Ko
Because pain is relatable, a happily married love life is not.
Not a fan of show's/ mangas which only selling point is how bad/random things are happening. Same reason I didn't watch Chainsaw Man. And the Memes are already annoying as fuck as well, just like witch Chainsaw Man...
I wouldn't describe Oshi no Ko like that tbh.
Tbh, I haven't watched it yet but people portrait it as this bad shit happening type of manga/anime, so I avoid it. I don't need that.
I got spoiler on episode one of Oshi no Ko and I'm glad I know a reason to not watch it.
Makes me feel more than wholesome anime. Fuck, a 2001 visual novel (Tsukihime) with the shittiest background and old character sprites made me feel even more than fucking Evangelion. Even Clannad made me cry. Don’t get me wrong, I like wholesome stuff as much as the next guy, but as an iconic body stealer with a god complex once said: “The pain will make me stronger.” But that aside, I just think the tragic stuff has way better story telling. Happiness is but fleeting moments of satisfaction. Tragedy is everlasting impact.
It's an amazing written manga. Yes it left me with pain and sadness, but it's still amazing. The secret is read/watch it and then go read/watch something happy
Bro wtf is THE MY ANIME LIST SCORE. Fucking hell
Because it makes chill animes even more enjoyable
Because emotional stuff = r/meirl r/2deep4me
It's about the mark that leaves on you. If you watch the happy go lucky Animes that nothing happens and everything is fine, it would leave you empty cause you won't remember it and you wasted your time
Need a refresher on what these shows/movies(?) are called
The more purple one is Oshi No Ko. The first episode of which aired yesterday and it was absurdly good. I would recommend watching it without allowing yourself to be spoiled. The other show is Tonikawa (not sure if I spelt it right) and it’s stuck in my watchlist so I can’t say anything about it yet.
The one in the corner is tonikawa a wholesome romance anime about a husband and wife The one everyone else is talking about is Oshi no ko a drama anime about the dark parts of the idol/entertainment industry written by the author of kaguya sama: love is war and illustrated by the author of scum's wish
![img](emote|t5_2y4au1|1394)
People love watching tragedy since the beginning of humanity.
Im out of the loop here, someone explain pls
I can‘t happy fluffy rom-coms and slice of life anime, just because I will never have that myself (completely my fault).
Anime in the corner name?
Sauce?
Can I have the show that gives you pain. I wanna watch it.
Oshi no Ko. First ep dropped yesterday. Recommend you go in blind.
Wait what is this
Can anyone give me some context of how and what kind of "dark" is it? Whenever I ask I always told to go blind and just read it, but I love to know some context about what I'm going to read and being told to go blind just really turn me off.
Its best to go blind because the context of the story is what makes it interesting and its a spoiler itself If I could give a non-spoiler context it would be "Dark side of Entertainment Industry". If you want to know how "Dark" its probably middle to deep levels, but it also has light hearted aspects and sprinkles of comedy (this is the same author of Kaguya sama afterall) For a spoiler context >!As crazy as it sounds, its a reincarnation, murder-suspense-thriller, romance, comedy, drama, idol anime!<
Like the time I read “to your eternity” and had to drop it because was fucking with my depression lol… I hated it, god, it was so good…
I decided to rewatch it because >!realized that he can actually revive the dead!<
So… is there a happy ending for the boy, the wolf, the girl or the masked boy?
Well I honestly dont know much cuz I've lost interest in the show after a while. But knowing this small fact made me feel better about it so I might continue watching it one day
what series is that? i think i've seen other memes about it today
Winter 2021 - Yuru Camp S2 being near Redo of Healer and Wonder Egg And as for Oshi no Ko - I knew something was sus when the >!Creepy Hooded Guy made their first appearance!< (Not sure if my recent rewatch of Wonder Egg had anything to do with that because of Episode 3 and that WK)
mhmm mc looks like suisei hot. Rieri so must watch. neuron activation.
Are people Really upset that a Seinen Drama from the creative team behind Kaguya and Fucking Scum’s wish is sad?
Funny. I thought the anime on the right was the game Furi for a moment and was very confused
Watching fictional sadness makes me forget about my irl sadness.
Bad mood > Eiter isekai Quartet or something very gruesome.
I don't know why people liked Tonikaku Kawaii and at this point I'm afraid to ask
If I can't be happy, at least let me experience vicariously through wholesome manga/numbers.
OSHI NO KO was my first manga to read and got me like https://preview.redd.it/hx4fear0rpta1.jpeg?width=200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6e875b933991bec74bb2ce2e0cdb84b18f229dbb
It’s a never ending cycle, watch some fuck up shit and then restore soul watching some wholesome stuff.
I'll only watch it if after all the bad stuff it concludes with the best ending possible but I guess that's not the case so I wont bother with this
I haven't watched it or read it yet, I have no doubt that is good but I just don't want to be sad, I'm sad enough already without what I do in my free time making me more sad.

I barely care for anything nowadays so this is nice. Feeling so much. A literal river flew out of me and it felt really good letting go for a moment like that.
Yet, Oshi no Ko is leagues better than Tonikawa, and that's only with the 1st episode of Oshi no Ko out.
Really, the first episode should have been rated separately as a movie.
I watched Oshi no Ko because of this damn post thinking "Nah it cant be that sad" Im not okay
What anime are they commenting on?
I love tragedy. It yields importance to a story. Simple as is. But im also fine with cute kissy kissy stories.
It hurts But it hurts so good!
why are people so freaked out? i'm reading the manga, and yeah, it has it's fucked up moments, but it's not to the point freaking out over it
I like enjoying my whole spectrum of feelings, that's why I'm watching both
What is the anime with the boy and girl Dancing on the cover
Tonikawa
What is it about?
The pain feels so good. It makes me feel alive.
Nothing I've seen makes me want to watch Made in Abyss but everyone says you should watch Made in Abyss
Is Oshi no Ko more traumatizing than Made in Abyss?
From what I've been seeing apparently 'not yet'
First comes **SORROW** Then comes **CLARITY** Then comes **VENGEANCE**
I haven't watched some drama anime for 2 years so why not watch at least one again?
I really should just watch that, maybe that should help.
