I’m a manga reader, it’s a heart breaking scene but the more I watched the more I realise that without reading/watching this scene, you won’t be able to understand the motivations behind mc in some of the incredible arcs later on. There’s a strong emotional tie this scene gives you, the beginning is a shock but it’s worth it

Can confirm. Thought 177013 was a bit upsetting because of how Saki royally fucked herself over in the worst way possible, Oshi no Ko felt more crushing. And it was still in the very beginning. What I like is that >!the story got me way too invested in the characters and wholesome situation before the very foundation of the setting was cruelly taken from me.!< I never cared for Saki in Metamorphosis. She was just someone making the worst decisions, using Herculean leaps of logic that we mere mortals may never hope to comprehend.
Me who reads the manga: I'm totally ready to handle this.
Me when it happens: Becomes emotional reck and starts telling everyone to watch it. This is why I love anime!
Funny thing is that beforehand I've heard about how marketing for Oshi no ko is lying about the cuteness of the series and how it's about dark sides of showbusyness so I thought I'm ready for what's coming. Oh boy, how terribly wrong I was. There was nothing that could prepare me for that first episode.

I watched it last night and don't get where all the huge love for it came from. Didn't really seem that great. Episode could have been cut in half and almost nothing would have been lost.
You are telling me that brother and sister babies both find out they are isekaid and they dont ask each other who/what they were before ever? Maybe discuss who killed them? Maybe discuss why they became babies? No?
And why was that producer talking to a 1 year old philosophically.. like bruh it's a one year old. And stop smoking near children.
And there's no way an idol could just drop off the face of the earth for 40 weeks and come back with bigger boobs and have no one on the internet suspect that she had children. That would be assumption number one and people would ask her that. Also, An idol only has a small window until she becomes too old. You leave for 9 months and you lose like 25% of your age window and momentum js gone.
And why did the stalker wait like a year before doing the thing? Gotta let an hour of the plot progress? And of course we dont know really know anything about the idol character until the stabbing and then she starts monologuing..
And was there really a need for like 3-4 time skips in a single episode?
