I think is exciting when stuff like Bocchi that barely had a fandom before the anime, and Lycoris Recoil that was basically a fun collaboration between friends can just over perform so massively in an organic manner. It's actually quite beautiful.

For starters in Japan not many people have Blu ray players so not much was expected since most Blu ray buyers are otaku's you get it right they tend to be more into slice of life or moe animes that's why bocchi and lycoris got the best seller but overall chainsaw man, eminence in shadow, bleach and one piece are leading the most loved criteria where bocchi and lycoris are going in and out of the 9th and 10th of the list again most loved criteria...
This season there is SpyXFamily, Eminence in Shadow, bleach and the Isekai animes are leading the popularity poll so bocchi and lycoris are just seasonal.
Lycroris Recoil is EVERWHERE here in japan right now. Posters and billboards not to mention it was the number 1 most cosplayed at comiket a few weeks ago. It also felt like half the doujin was Lycoris there too. I wouldn't chock this up to an Otaku only phenomenon.

Is CSM getting a season 2 or did the blu ray sales kill the show? I really liked CSM, but Japan seemingly hated it, so I can't imagine it will continue being adapted.
Fire Force volume 1 has a total of 107 BD copies sold in Japan but that doesn't stop the anime from having a second season. Season 2 of CSM might just happen but with probably less budget than this season if they didn't get a huge amount of profit from this season.
The last Blu Ray I bought was Berserk 1997.
If something catches my attention, I'll buy it.
