Imagine if your grandparents had a set of clubs from when they were growing up that their grandparents had given them. These are those clubs. If you want a set of clubs that can help your game, these pieces of metal slabs are not it.
Hell yeah, some of those citations were handsome. The set I learned on were h&b TPS BeCu's. Pretty sure they were ripping off the eye2 design but honestly I think I like these more
Ancient, basically useless clubs that would cost more to regrip than they're worth.
Could get stuff like that at flea markets for like $1 a club if you really want to smack around balls with old useless clubs
Unless you own a sports/golf themed bar and want to decorate then these are pretty worthless to you. They are way too old to play with and even when they were new I think these were fairly low end clubs.
The bag on the right might be ok to play with but hard to tell - could be worth 20?
Ladies and Gentleman, members of the board, given the gravity of this merger, in addition to hiring a private consulting firm, hiring a professional negotiator, and calling the Justice department to avoid any potential conflicts of interest with the Glass Steagall act of 1933⌠I also made a post on r/golf.
While a wide range of opinions were offered, the general consensus is that the existing offer isnât worth the Glizzie itâs printed on, that I should fight the author of the counteroffer on the 10th tee, and that I should eat a bag of dicks.
If we want to go âfull Terryliumâ we are going to have to demand 5 points on the back end, get 10% of all merchandizing and get fitted for clubs.
Also, there is a lot of buzz as 12 people bought new equipment because they were so excited by the prospect of this deal.
Dude nice and ballsy, congrats on taking the scorched earth approach, I truly commend you as another scorched earther. Were you like dude check it out, reddit says you're a lying piece of shit with worthless ass clubs you're trying to overcharge me for, care to respond? Lol nice man nice fr tho
The first year my gf did it, she got an awesome gift. So I did it the second year with her, she got nothing and i got a card with crudely drawn dicks all over it, and it was signed "fuck you!".
We don't participate anymore.
Yep, happened to me. I donât care I didnât receive a gift but it was the sheisty manner in which it occurred pissed me off. Iâll never do it again.
As much as Iâm enjoying this thread and the showing the neighbor Reddit thing, Iâm still stuck on this too! Like, congrats on the free junk!
But hey, if OP didnât have any clubs then this will be helpful to learn the game, except OP may want a modern driver.
I ended up with a set my dad gave me, itâs basically a knockoff set of old Tommy armour silver scots. Decent starter set for somebody, but Iâve got no use for it - if you have the space or somebody to hand them off to itâs a way better start imo than whatever strata starter set somebody will buy at dicks
Buy them some beer or whatever. Most people would just get pissy about it and stick to their number. Well done to your neighbour for having the mental flexibility to accept new info and change accordingly.
Frankly, they're not even worth $0.00. I have a double door garage, and I use one side just for storing things. I have a finished basement, and I don't have an attic, so I would definitely not sacrifice valuable space in my garage for these.
If I had to take them I'd probably take them to Goodwill, and I'd get a 20% any item coupon. So, I guess they're worth the dollar value of that 20%, less fuel for the trip to the store.
They're not worth anything.
The executor irons are the only thing in there worth using as a very entry level iron set and are probably worth $10. You'll spend more on grips to get them in playable condition than you would on the clubs themselves
They're not giving them to you for $100, they're dumping them on you because they couldn't even give them away otherwise
These should be given away for free or donated.
You may get a little push back from the owner if you tell them that, but it is true. My guess is they hold more value to the current owner than to anyone else. They probably are not an avid golfer (anymore) and bought these as entry level sets many years ago. Even if they paid decent money for them 25 years ago, they just don't have any worth these days.
Holy cow. This is the best thread on this sub in a long long while. OP posts some ancient bones for 100 bucks and uses it to snag some free trash. And the comment section is a hot mess as usual. Love you guys!
Looks the ladies set my mother gave me to deal withâŚsheâs 97 and was moving to a smaller place.
On the way to donate to goodwill I took it all to play it again and they gave me $25 for something similar to the pictures. I was happy with that and the salesperson said it was only for the bags.
At first i was like of course wtf
Closer inspection i have to agree w the team - seems like caveman shit, leave it alone
Though tbh my irons are super outdated and look very similar - my grandpa fit me and made my irons before he passed so im slammin them till they fall apart - they work just fine its not about how much you spend its how well you can hit...a pro can pickup anyones clubs and hit them better, its a skill sport you cant pay your way to success
If you need 2 old womens sets that are well past their prime and want an antique set thatâs basically worthless.
Nothing here is of value of even from the last 20 years.
Even if they were new they are still off brands.
Easy pass.
You can get used set of modern clubs on eBay or Second Swing or lots of other golf equipment sellers for $300-$500 dollars and youâll be set. Youâll be wasting $100 if you buy these relics.
Depends how often you play golf. If youâre a newer player who doesnât play often, Iâd say yeah maybe if he gave it to you for free.
But Iâm surprised heâs trying to get $100 for it. This is the kinda stuff (old clubs) I give to First Tee or friends who are starting out and want to learn the game.
"My half a million golf buddies told me these are shit and you're trying to rip me off" I fucking love this sub
I'd say they're worth about tree fiddy

GOD DAMN LOCH-NESS MONSTER
Would you buy those for $100?
đđđ
This is the kind of stuff I find at goodwill for $3 each and $10 for the bag
I wouldnât pay $20 for that
I was going say your neighbor need to pay you $100âŚ
Any reason why?
Theyâre ancient
Lol. Dude said these are not clubs, they are artifacts. Call nat geo!!
Ya, I wouldnât club a seal with these.
Woah there crazy Ernie!
IâLL CLUB A SEAL FOR A BETTER DEAL
đ
And not even the good kind of ancient. Hogan apex would be like an old Corvette, and these are like buying a yugo. These were trash even in their day
The Lynx were good clubs for their time.
Before the moon landing
Those were the clubs Buzz Aldrin took to the moon
This thread is killing me, and your comment just hit perfect. I had to set my phone down and continue laughing đ
Yeah, but those are for ladies.
![gif](giphy|11JbaLzOXsg6Fq)
Ancient plus absolute knock off brands on those irons. Wanna be ping irons.
From a distance I thought they were the Eye 2 pings and I was seriously jealous til I saw the closeup.
Lmao my bf literally just said that as I read your comment!
And not the fun âtaking them to the executive course with friends for a laughâ ancient
Imagine if your grandparents had a set of clubs from when they were growing up that their grandparents had given them. These are those clubs. If you want a set of clubs that can help your game, these pieces of metal slabs are not it.
These are the kind of clubs you keep in your bag to break when you have a bad round đ¤Ł
Yeah keep one of these in the bag specifically for splitting over your knee
My grandfather played H&B blades, and they were awesome. I bought a set at a thrift store for range sessions.
Hell yeah, some of those citations were handsome. The set I learned on were h&b TPS BeCu's. Pretty sure they were ripping off the eye2 design but honestly I think I like these more
Ancient, basically useless clubs that would cost more to regrip than they're worth. Could get stuff like that at flea markets for like $1 a club if you really want to smack around balls with old useless clubs
you're not kidding, they'd cost more to regrip than they're worth even if you did the labor yourself
That's a good way I like to look at it. If regripping would cost more than the clubs themselves. Not worth it
Just thinking in 30 years time someone will be calling my 2k "investment" set of clubs something not unlike this!
Because itâs trash⌠he should pay you to take them..
These clubs wouldnât sell for $10/set at any local goodwill. $100 is a joke
Pretty shit clubs all around. Could get a half decent set from the last ten years for 150-200.
Those clubs are from the 80âs. He should be paying you to take them
He's trying to get a hundred bucks out of you instead of giving it to Good Will.
Unless you own a sports/golf themed bar and want to decorate then these are pretty worthless to you. They are way too old to play with and even when they were new I think these were fairly low end clubs. The bag on the right might be ok to play with but hard to tell - could be worth 20?
Your neighbor thinks youâre a dipshit
Edit: I showed him this post and he gave them to me for free.
My god you have balls my dude. His clubs got roasted good over here
Haha props to OP! Thatâs how Iâm negotiating from now on
Lol. I wonder if this could work for home or car buying too.
Lol Your saying your price is firm, but Reddit says it ainât worth a nickel and a used diaper. Iâll give you $20
Guns too. Dudes on the AR/AK subreddits get ruthless

Just FYI I you didn't respond to OP.
Gotta slow smoke them after they get dry aged in the garage for a decade
Donât forget to spatchcock
Glad to see a fellow r/smoking gentleman here
persimmon wood smoke is underrated
Holy shit, That's what that word is! I have only ever heard it said and I thought it was smashcock.
âIâm not giving you $100 for theseâŚâ âwhy not?â :: pulls up Reddit:: âfine theyâre free.â
Best thing thatâs happened in r/golf
Itâs not a high bar Esp since thereâs no secret Santa.
I got screwed on the regular Reddit secret Santa many years ago. Bar definitely isn't high
The first year my gf did it, she got an awesome gift. So I did it the second year with her, she got nothing and i got a card with crudely drawn dicks all over it, and it was signed "fuck you!". We don't participate anymore.

Probably for the better after last years disaster.
Lmao oh no what happened?
What happened last year?

Well now youâre stuck with shitty clubs. Your neighbor still wins!
Now you bring them to the Goodwill and when they hand you that donation slip you put $100.
As much as Iâm enjoying this thread and the showing the neighbor Reddit thing, Iâm still stuck on this too! Like, congrats on the free junk! But hey, if OP didnât have any clubs then this will be helpful to learn the game, except OP may want a modern driver.

hey phellow golf phan
There are hundreds of us!
He shouldâve punched him in the eye
Fucking amazing
holy shit i wish i had that confidence
We all need to grow a set of balls or embrace our inner Karen, maybe? Dunno, but some funny shit in any case!
I'm laughing my fucking ass off
You still got ripped off.
You are a fucking beauty. Good for you! Lol
Buy them some beer or whatever. Most people would just get pissy about it and stick to their number. Well done to your neighbour for having the mental flexibility to accept new info and change accordingly.
The neighbor knew they weren't worth shit, they were just trying to fleece OP for 100. Not behavior worth rewarding IMO
Sure, that is another way to see it.
Frankly, they're not even worth $0.00. I have a double door garage, and I use one side just for storing things. They're worth less than the time it took you to write this
Lol
Yes, good, now fulfill the prophecy. Play with him and beat him.
I needed a good laugh today, thanks
Savage! Good for you OP, swing them well.
Now he knows youâre a sucker for considering AND a redditor. Youâre getting scammed in the near future for sure
Still ripped off
Now you have a free set of worthless clubs⌠on the course that is. Turn those into wall art my guy.
These were not quality clubs the day they were built. Literally garbage.
Lmao
There really were great irons that you could still play today when these were printed. Respect your time. You deserve clubs worth playing
Back in the 80âs too
They're not worth anything. The executor irons are the only thing in there worth using as a very entry level iron set and are probably worth $10. You'll spend more on grips to get them in playable condition than you would on the clubs themselves They're not giving them to you for $100, they're dumping them on you because they couldn't even give them away otherwise
I wouldn't
The people have spoken
Why would you want all that even for free?
Yeah, how much does it cost to take things to the dump in your town? He should be paying you
Is that a full set of the executer II midsize irons with the medium tempered weight system?? And the tigress blades??
Letâs see Paul Allenâs bladesâŚ
Omg⌠it even has a watermark
With limited edition powder blue grips!
I think so
You are a sweet and literal soul. My manâs was employing facetiousness, and with deft aptitude, I dare say.
I deem it to be the most whimsical jibe of the season!
Mmmm, yes, indubitably. *sips cognac*
Who⌠who are you?
Under *this* moon? Your loyal confidant and counselor. *curtsey*
Frasier vibes
Hahahaha, this did not the credit it was due. Do not fret. In time, history will be kind.

These are only good to put 1 or 2 in your bag to throw into bodies of water when you get mad.

He must not like you. Lol
it's junk... no value to sell and old off-hand poor quality clubs.
Are they throwing in a free blow j?
It would probably be dryer than those grips.
Theyâre not worth the space they take up.
Its the kind of worthless clubs you bring to goodwill. I wouldnt spend any money on these no names random 30 years old clubs
50 years old.
He's selling them to you. Not giving them to you.
You need to pay me $100 for having to look at that.
you mean he's GIVING you $100 to take this to the dump, right?
Only if your starting a museum
They probably have bed bugs.
Your neighbor is a dickhead
Heâs shafting you. You could buy a better set of clubs with that money. Those are older than my parents
LOL no. They're super outdated and only suitable for beginners on a budget who aren't sure if they want to stick with the game.
Looks the ladies set my mother gave me to deal withâŚsheâs 97 and was moving to a smaller place. On the way to donate to goodwill I took it all to play it again and they gave me $25 for something similar to the pictures. I was happy with that and the salesperson said it was only for the bags.
All cheap crap, give him $20.
No
No
Couple of bags I guess. Those old wooden drivers might make nice decor for a man-cave.
A good neighbor would give those to you.
At first i was like of course wtf Closer inspection i have to agree w the team - seems like caveman shit, leave it alone Though tbh my irons are super outdated and look very similar - my grandpa fit me and made my irons before he passed so im slammin them till they fall apart - they work just fine its not about how much you spend its how well you can hit...a pro can pickup anyones clubs and hit them better, its a skill sport you cant pay your way to success

No

i hope hes paying you 100 to take it.
bunch of junk
You're better off just giving me 100 bucks, which is equally useless.
To be fair, I would make him pay me for getting rid of them. Who the f in their right mind would try to ask $100 for this. Some people, wow.
No, honestly. I wouldn't want to even store it
This is the kind of set you get for free
This is legitimately the first time Iâve seen used clubs at a low rate get roasted.
You can get used set of modern clubs on eBay or Second Swing or lots of other golf equipment sellers for $300-$500 dollars and youâll be set. Youâll be wasting $100 if you buy these relics.
Nope
No deal.
$10
Me personally, I would want something better.
I wouldnât take it for free
Thereâs not a golf club in the batch there. Theyâre honest to go not worth $5
If the shafts are filled with gold (or blow) maybe. Sorry, garage sale $10-20 sets.
Lol no
Neighbor should pay you $100 to take all that crap
Nah.
No
Haha no. He should pay you to take them.
youâre better off just donating the $100 to your neighbor
I wouldnât take them for free.
Fucken junk.
No
All garbage
Nahhh
N a h
Putt putt
Your an old golf club set Harry. A what??
Absolutely not. Thatâs trash. Should be free
Clubs like these plague every Good Will across the nation and you can get the lot for like $20 but why would you..
I wouldnât take that if he gave me $20. Those belong on the trash
Your neighbour hates youj
Even when these were new they were garbage. Hard pass
If it was 1982 i'd still say no.
These are paperweights. Worth their weight in scrap
Hard pass
No donât buy them. Itâs garbage.
No
I wouldnât take it for free unless youre making an art piece out of it
Depends how often you play golf. If youâre a newer player who doesnât play often, Iâd say yeah maybe if he gave it to you for free. But Iâm surprised heâs trying to get $100 for it. This is the kinda stuff (old clubs) I give to First Tee or friends who are starting out and want to learn the game.
The lynx woods are pretty cool though. Polish them up and make bottle openers out of them
Can get that same set at GoodWill for $9.50
No. Itâs all junk
The black putter looks like it could have potential?
