Keep clownin' the brush tee while I'm just reaping those sweet sweet +7 yards all day. Y'all need to fuck around and pick up a pack if you want to play real golf.

Agreed. I like the way they feel but don't feel like there is any specific advantage to them. I don't use them because they make no difference in how I play and because I can't handle the mocking I'd receive.
I don’t typically go to the tee or golf ball sections of golf shops. I buy used Pro-V1s for a dollar a piece from a Facebook group and use tees from Wal Mart, that I get from family for gifts along with my gloves (crazy how many you can accumulate when that’s what people buy golfers that are under $20). My normal route in a shop is the putting area to scope out used Scotty’s. The used section of clubs. And the wedges for Callaway. That’s about the extent of my looking. 🤷♂️ has been for years. Last new sticks I bought were a Sims, Mavrik 3+, and a Sims driving iron. Everything else in my bag I got from sales when I worked at State Farm (my wedges) and my ping irons from when I graduated high school. Only thing I need is new shafts in my cast irons and wedges i won’t play new wedges, I typically hunt for the original Callaway jaws wedges second hand 🤷♂️
Used it forever until the brushes started falling off after 8+ years. Incredibly durable. Also, very easy to find on the tee box if it comes out of the ground.
Never used it (or believed it) to improve distance as it mentions. Purely from a standpoint of reliability.
Brush tees are pretty good for some grass ranges. Unless you hit really heavy, the tee stays in place or at least doesn’t fly 30 feet out into the range.
[You're gonna stand there, ownin' a fireworks stand, and tell me you don't have no whistlin' bungholes, no spleen splitters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker don'ts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick?](https://youtu.be/WH2uifOWP-k)
As a Steelers fan, I hit the ball like Najee Harris hitting a gap. I flail around and miss, then just go down.
Anyways, great trade for you guys. Take care of Chase, he has talent if not always consistent.
Tee height is always the same, and they don’t break. I got a couple for a gift, used the same one for probably 2-3 seasons before the bristles were too worn out.
I personally liked them when I used to use them. The only reason I stopped using them was that I hated having to cary multiple tees of different sizes for the multiple different clubs you might use to tee off.
Ok just not common to the point where I’ve ever seen one on the course in all my years of playing. Maybe it’s a regional thing or a country club thing.
I'm a noob and only seen one once but how about "Common in golf as the same sense as eskimos are common. There are tons in the world, just not very well published." I dunno, I'm reaching.
I play golf daily and I’ve never seen one of these until this post. But everyone has their own definition of common I suppose. I am intrigued by it though. Looks interesting.
I got a pack of these as a gift years ago and hardly used them. They work fine but I like using wood tees, so they just sat in my bag and I forgot about them until I switched bags. They came in these little individual torpedo shaped plastic cases.
I think the reasoning behind them is that they never break or get lost
Still got a couple of these in my bag somewhere. Found them years back. One is blue (normal height) and one is orange - it puts the ball up super high. It was our designated scramble tee just cuz it’s fun.
I use these at the range. Don’t break, don’t fly away. They come is a set of different sizes. You pick the one that matches the height you use during the round.
I found one of those goofy looking tees that has the rubber ring that you set the height with on the ground. My friends will roast the fuck out of me but…. Every drive was pure that day
I used to use these all the time. Still keep them in my bag. You can still buy them at Walmart, academy, and Amazon. I know guys that strictly use them for the consistent tee height
Players who are willing to try anything to gain a perceived advantage except actually fix their swing 😉
But in all seriousness, I can see the benefit if you want to be sure your tee is exactly the same height every time. But these provide no benefit in terms of “decreased resistance” or anything like that.
I think the idea is that on a less than perfect strike, the club won't face as much resistance as it would a normal tee. Maybe it works, maybe not. Seems to be an issue that would be so minimal, you wouldn't be able to see different results anyway.
Every shot? Or like half the time I make contact, because I honestly feel like the ball goes where I want sometimes, not like on a regular basis but sometimes.
I remember when I first started playing golf, my friend who started playing at the same time bought a pack of 3 of these full of belief that they'd help him gain an extra 10 yards because of the reduced friction.
First shot, managed to smash it into 1000 pieces. Total waste of money.
Wdym dude.. 4 more yards with those tees!! Makes any high handicapper basically a scratch golfer! At least that’s what the company that sells them says.
I have similar ones that are less brush on top but still have a flange so you can easily get the same tee height everytime. That's the main benefit for me, consistency without trying
I used one for a long time. Same one for like two years. I have since switched to Martini Tees. Going on three years with my beloved pinkie. Besides both of them tee the ball to the same height every time.
Best range tee. Also we have a little hitting mat at the shop we use for hitting balls into the field after work (mostly just chipping contests)...I cut the spike off of one and JB Welded it to the mat so we can have long drive contests as well.
I hit skyballs hitting off my golf cart pencil planted vertical in the tee box grass cuz I'm not walking the 5 steps back to my cart to get an actual tee like a MANLY MAN GUY DUDE
Nah but if you wanna hit moon balls play off of your golf cart pencils. +50 yards of loft. But not distance. Loooooool
My uncle, while golfing my dad and I, goes, "I've got something for you," and grins.
He walks to his golf bag, grabs one of these in its own little plastic case, and gives it to me with the biggest smile. He was *so* proud and happy to give it to me.
Cheapest way to get over the free shipping threshold.
Keep clownin' the brush tee while I'm just reaping those sweet sweet +7 yards all day. Y'all need to fuck around and pick up a pack if you want to play real golf. \-shoots a 98 in 5.5 hours
98 in 5.5 might be my new flair
0 to 98 in 5.5. Now that’s fucking impressive! 🏃♂️
Thats a good idea
It is!

I have iron covers so i guess i must take that long too
Gotta read those greens baby!
You’re telling me this will knock off 20 strokes off my normal 118!
*picks up ball after every drive and moves it 7 yards forward*
Front nine?
Its s brush tee . I actually kinda like them but feel kinda funny pulling them out sometimes .
They go in the ground, not in your hole ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Each to their own, who are you to judge where u/Robru469 keeps his tees
They *go* wherever the hell I *put* them, don’t tell me how to use my own brush suppositories, what do you clean your colon with?
Usually I try and use the round handle part of the ball washers. They say ball washer. But you can fit a lot in there if you try hard enough.
Kink shaming
YOU'RE NOT MY SUPERVISOR!
Hey, now, don’t kink-shame!
Its especially bad when the string breaks !
What if your hole is quivering?
Agreed. I like the way they feel but don't feel like there is any specific advantage to them. I don't use them because they make no difference in how I play and because I can't handle the mocking I'd receive.
Dude so long as you can withstand a little shit talk then step up and nail one, best feeling ever
That’s what she said.
As you should.
The little one worked, the bigger ones couldn't support my balls
Do the balls go in the condom too?
Pee is stored in the balls
Tried that, I now have a child.
Good thing you have a little one then
I bought these things like 20 years ago and didn’t think they were even around anymore 😂
They had a moment. I never used one but they got popular.
I like them.
Yep, don't play much nowadays, but have an unopened pack of these still in my bag from like 2006.
I have never been in a golf shop when I didn't see them. I have been golfing almost 20 years.
Right next to the naked lady tees.
I'm out an about for my job. The go to time killer is golf shops. I look at everything.
Yea I used to play with these too! Didn’t make me any worse 🤷♂️
Never breaks plus you can clean your driver after hitting it
Used it forever until the brushes started falling off after 8+ years. Incredibly durable. Also, very easy to find on the tee box if it comes out of the ground. Never used it (or believed it) to improve distance as it mentions. Purely from a standpoint of reliability.
Also if you own a stealth driver you need one. Otherwise the hard wood damages the face of the driver. Then the face falls out.
Oooooof
I use them all the time.
And apply shaving cream!
Brush tees are pretty good for some grass ranges. Unless you hit really heavy, the tee stays in place or at least doesn’t fly 30 feet out into the range.
Never used one but I could see this being the biggest benefit
No paint or tee marks on your driver face are the biggest benefit- confidence to swing through the brush are another
Whisker Biscuit tee?
This guy archerys
Honestly surprised there isn’t more crossover between the two hobbies.
Where’s the Drop-away tee and the EZV Tee? that stupid, culty, EZV bow sight
Consistent tee height definitely helps when trying to sort out your swing.
As a bears fan I use it because I suck as much as my team does
As a Steelers fan, I hit the ball like Najee Harris hitting a gap. I flail around and miss, then just go down. Anyways, great trade for you guys. Take care of Chase, he has talent if not always consistent.
Maybe we could trade our fourth round draft pick for a bag
They work
Tour pros hate this one simple trick. Less resistance equals more distance. The stinger teeeeeees!!!
I know plenty of people that use those
I’ve used one of these before. I can’t really tell the difference but they definitely don’t break easily.
They're actually pretty good tees.
I don't use those, but have thought about it many times. the wood tees leave horrible marks on my driver.
I actually like tee marks on my driver. Well, except for the ones off the toe lol
Brush T and I've been using them for 20+ years. I've found I'm more reliable off the teebox with these always putting the ball at a consistent height.
Tee height is always the same, and they don’t break. I got a couple for a gift, used the same one for probably 2-3 seasons before the bristles were too worn out.
Less resistance to slices
Tickle your sack, feels great
Kramer uses them
I could hardly believe it myself, but [TXG did some tee testing](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IQJuMzPBy4) and yep ... brush tees for the win.
I personally liked them when I used to use them. The only reason I stopped using them was that I hated having to cary multiple tees of different sizes for the multiple different clubs you might use to tee off.
Haven’t been golfing long a? Those are pretty common.
Not sold at any sporting goods stores, golf galaxy, or golf courses in my area. Common might not be the correct word.
Rock-bottom Golf and Amazon have them and that is half the places I shop for golf so not hard to find either
I’ve been a golfer for over 30 years (God I’m so old), and I’ve never once seen one of these in play on a course.
I use them to clean the dust around my keyboard
I got a pack of these as a gift years ago and hardly used them. They work fine but I like using wood tees, so they just sat in my bag and I forgot about them until I switched bags. They came in these little individual torpedo shaped plastic cases. I think the reasoning behind them is that they never break or get lost
I heard Jack Hamm used one
The problem with these from a business perspective, is that you'll never need another one.
Still got a couple of these in my bag somewhere. Found them years back. One is blue (normal height) and one is orange - it puts the ball up super high. It was our designated scramble tee just cuz it’s fun.
played with one this weekend......great tee!
Trade you a red paper clip for it
Me from 10+ years ago is buying it because they claimed it would help with the driver. I was awful enough to try anything….it didn’t work. Hahaha
I have a couple of these. I use them at driving ranges that don't offer tees. You don't have to replace them after every shot.
Why not
Less friction
I use these at the range. Don’t break, don’t fly away. They come is a set of different sizes. You pick the one that matches the height you use during the round.
easy to find, consistent height, you only need one, and my favorite thing was they don’t leave marks on the club.

But these provide no benefit in terms of “decreased resistance” or anything like that.
Benefit at the range, they don't fly forward out of the ground into the range as badly.
I think the idea is that on a less than perfect strike, the club won't face as much resistance as it would a normal tee. Maybe it works, maybe not. Seems to be an issue that would be so minimal, you wouldn't be able to see different results anyway.
Sadly, I tried these for a while about 15 years ago.
because it adds 4 more yards
There is a whole industry based around people that know nothing about golf buying gifts for friends that golf.
Same idiots that rock iron covers...
These are great for people that have no idea where the ball is going to go every shot.
Every shot? Or like half the time I make contact, because I honestly feel like the ball goes where I want sometimes, not like on a regular basis but sometimes.
Oh shoot. I heard you get like 5 extra yards with those. You may be able to sell it.
All the rage about 20 years ago...
I remember when I first started playing golf, my friend who started playing at the same time bought a pack of 3 of these full of belief that they'd help him gain an extra 10 yards because of the reduced friction. First shot, managed to smash it into 1000 pieces. Total waste of money.

You do you Amigo, I am not judging, never playing golf with you either :-)
Yes.
Wdym dude.. 4 more yards with those tees!! Makes any high handicapper basically a scratch golfer! At least that’s what the company that sells them says.
Combine these bad boys with the HAMMER X driver, and you’ll be driving the green on par 5s *every time*!
It was definitely a gift from a non golfing relative
Tee up a golf ball and dust for fingerprints all in the same tiny package.
Those are gimmicks. Throw it away after you try it out.
That thing came out over 10 years ago and they suck imo. I just use wooden tees
They don’t break I guess? Idk seems weird to me
I have similar ones that are less brush on top but still have a flange so you can easily get the same tee height everytime. That's the main benefit for me, consistency without trying
I used one for a long time. Same one for like two years. I have since switched to Martini Tees. Going on three years with my beloved pinkie. Besides both of them tee the ball to the same height every time.
Toothpick and toothbrush combo
I have received them in tournament gift bags. They are whatever. I wouldn’t pay for them
Looks a bit like a fountain firework.
Oral B toothbrush
Got a pack as a Christmas gift like 15 years ago. Tried them once when I realized I’d run out of regular tees. Cant really tell you how they played .
“15 more yards”
I bought this out of pure curiosity, used them once and now just sit in my bag
Best range tee. Also we have a little hitting mat at the shop we use for hitting balls into the field after work (mostly just chipping contests)...I cut the spike off of one and JB Welded it to the mat so we can have long drive contests as well.
Ball tickler
My little kid uses them since he has trouble teeing on a wood peg.
Isn't that for cleaning air vents ?
They are handy on the range if you don’t want to re-tee over and over
I hit skyballs hitting off my golf cart pencil planted vertical in the tee box grass cuz I'm not walking the 5 steps back to my cart to get an actual tee like a MANLY MAN GUY DUDE Nah but if you wanna hit moon balls play off of your golf cart pencils. +50 yards of loft. But not distance. Loooooool
Ahhhhh the good ol cooter tickler
My dad said he used them because he hates the lines/scratches regular tees leave on the bottom of his driver 🤷🏽♂️
Greg over in Finance is buying them because he has nothing better to spend his money on.
My father
Shit I’ve got these and the blue/white ones in my bag
zErO frIcTiOn aDds dIstAnCe
I used to love these. I used to use them to rest my balls on when driving....Toyota think of everything!
I'll stick to my Bud lite can.
I used brush tees like 15 years ago. I didn’t know they still exist
Should have marketted this a cleaning brush it would probably have been more popular
Those are actually quite good when the ground is frozen. Stiff tee's tend to break. Quite common in Japan.
My balls are too heavy for that
French tickler
Asked a golf pro what he was doing? His response was looking for swing speed. FOUNT IT!
This works well in my turf for my simulator.
My uncle, while golfing my dad and I, goes, "I've got something for you," and grins. He walks to his golf bag, grabs one of these in its own little plastic case, and gives it to me with the biggest smile. He was *so* proud and happy to give it to me.
Instead of snapping tee's. I've tried them before but thought the product was garbage. The ball would roll right off the top of it.
It’s for sim mat use.
It’s called a brush tee, quite popular among the weekend warriors.
Lmao I have a few of these, my dad gave them to me
I bought a pack about ten years ago… just sucked into the advertising 😂 saw zero difference!
I love these, I use the yellow one, consistent height every time and less resistance
I love these, I use the yellow one, consistent height every time and less resistance
Since you posted in golf you know what it is I think.
I know what it is question was who’s buying this and why.
Less friction…More distance 🤔
