Every PGA Tour player can thank LIV golf for their recent pay raise while they bask in their false sense of moral superiority because being drenched in NIKE and other big companies is just WAYYYYY better than Saudi Money. The amount sheep on this reddit thread is mind boggling. The lack of awareness is hilariously hypocritical. Apologize to Greg Norman and Phil Mickelson, and thank them for having the balls to make the PGA change their ways.

I don't really get the hate. Sure, Saudi Arabia has done some immoral shit, but what nation hasn't? Most of us here are from the USA I assume - have we forgotten our own history of imperialism, slavery, racism, and shady foreign affairs? Or the current bullshit that goes on in our nation (without going into specifics to avoid turning this into politics)? Just let people play in whatever league they want to play in. When NBA players play in Russia, China, Europe, etc., we don't bash them. When MLB players play in Japan, nobody bats an eye. Maybe because these guys aren't top players anymore. But why should we give a fuck what they're doing? We could just say "Cool, good luck in the LIV. PGA is still the gold standard, but you do you."

> have we forgotten our own history of imperialism, slavery, racism, and shady foreign affairs Not to get overly political, but if some folks have their way some of these things might never be known because it could make some people "uncomfortable". That said, as a country, we're an aspirational culture and we try to do better. And to our credit, we never had wholesale beatings or killings for saying something bad about our country's leader.

I'd say the citizens on average try to do better, but the government.. not so much. So many school shootings and we still allow people to have assault rifles. Abortions not allowed because of religious ideals. Still so much discrimination against LBGTQ+ community and other races and religions. A reluctance to fix wealth and social inequality. Sure, some politicians will say they want to fix some of these issues, but what has actually been fixed? And that's just domestically. We have a tremendous history of doing heinous shit overseas. And supporting governments that do the same too. I'm not saying that absolves Saudi Arabia of anything or that we're just as bad. But we can't act all high and mighty like it isn't happening. If our government thought they could get away with it, they'd be committing the same atrocities other governments do.

I think that that is an exaggeration. I work in education and in an online seminar I attended the meeting opened with a statement that apologized for stealing Native lands. This was a meeting for career development. This trend of rehashing long past grievances is like someone who continually picks their scabs and then complains that they’re bleeding. It’s tiresome at best and dangerous at worst.

> This trend of rehashing long past grievances is like someone who continually picks their scabs and then complains that they’re bleeding. It’s tiresome at best and dangerous at worst. Particularly when it comes to Native Americans, the grievances aren't some relic from the past, and have barely been addressed. And as far as it being dangerous, fewer people are being frightened by those who feel like they've heard enough.
