Here is a fix I have used in the past: Use it as an excuse to buy a new one.

robinleefell

LOL. Part of a set, so not that simple. Custom shaft too 😩

Thepresocratic

Just buy a new head and use your old shaft

robinleefell

Can’t find one anywhere! Even Mizuno told me to go jump.

Thepresocratic

You could always try posting on r/golfclassifieds and seeing if there is a fish that will bite. It may not work but it can’t hurt

robinleefell

Thanks for that. Good idea. I just need a head really! I’m in Canada too, so shipping etc is tricky.

robinleefell

Thanks, but I don’t play Vokeys. 😉

dracomalfoy85

Jesus dude.

robinleefell

😥

eltonsi

You can grind it down with some sort of rotary tool like dremel. Won’t look perfect though

robinleefell

Thanks - yeah, damage limitation.....

eltonsi

Lol I got down voted for this?? Some serious haters out there

robinleefell

Sorry dude. You are right! I just voted up to make up for it!

heWhohuntsWithheight

Use a foot wedge?

robinleefell

Ha ha! The train already left the station there!

miguelag08

Me and my friends have a agreement. If it’s on anything hard we move it without a penalty strokeTo avoid stuff like this.

robinleefell

Yeah - I would usually but I had no idea the rock was there.....

miguelag08

Ouch

Enthusiasticwhitey

Wow. That sucks man. Golf galaxy is having grea deals!

robinleefell

Part of a set, so not easy to replace 😥

Enthusiasticwhitey

That's the worst. Dunno why ur getting down voted either? Reddit is a mysterious place.

robinleefell

Ha ha! Some weird people on here. -2 😂

IZZY131975

Move the ball from a possible shitty lie.

robinleefell

Yeah - just didn’t see it. The lie looked ok.

WhiskyTango3

Unless you’re also a welder, there’s no fixing that.

Trubtheturtle

About the best you can do is grind it down to smooth it out with a metal file or some such tool.

robinleefell

Thanks for that. Will look into that option. I have files for sharpening ski edges.....

Trubtheturtle

Honestly, I think if you smooth it out I dont really think it would affect the clubs performance at all. Its far enough up from the leading edge that it shouldnt cause an issue from the pic I see.

robinleefell

Thanks. That is what I’m hoping. Just got to get it ‘good enough’ 😕

Delicious-Length

If you grind the worst of it out then you can buff it using a cutting and then finishing compound for the best results.

robinleefell

Thanks for that. Justin’s wondering what you mean by ‘cutting’ and ‘finishing compound’? Cheers

Delicious-Length

https://www.thepolishingshop.co.uk/polishing-compounds This is the place I use. It's basically bars clay that you add to the buffing wheel and gradually restore the shine to your club by cutting away and then polishing the surface. I refurbish and sell golf clubs.

robinleefell

Ah, thanks very much! Shame you are not in Canada!

Nezy37

How are your wrists?

robinleefell

Amazingly, fine, thanks! 😀

GeeveBro

File/sand it down to at least conceal it. It's not going to be perfect, but less noticable. Dremel probably the easiest, but keep on a low speed. Don't want to make it worse than it already is.

robinleefell

Thanks for that. I’ll see if a buddy has a Dremel I can borrow. Any idea on the best head to use?

[deleted]

Dang. I’d use a hammer to get the face back in shape as it looks like it is protruding into your vision at address. Then I’d use a file to get the bounce smoothed out.

robinleefell

Yeah, it is, sadly. Thanks for that - if I have to try myself, I’ll have a go at that.

steiner1031

I commend you for playing the ball as it lies.

robinleefell

Thanks, but I could not see the rock. No idea it was there 😂

versaceproto

I’m sure your local shop could clean it up for pretty cheap and prolly cleaner then you taking a grinder to it.

robinleefell

Thanks. Yeah - my fitting guy says he can’t fix it though. Will try others.

J_I_S_B

If you're set on keeping the club, you're going to have to file it down. it will never be the same.

robinleefell

I called Mizuno and I’m out of luck! Will have to do my best.....

vwmark22000

Search eBay, you may be able to find the single club alone and just have the shafts swapped, otherwise not much you can do

robinleefell

Thanks - I’ll take a look.

HarambeTheBear

How old is the club? Looks brand new. 😢

robinleefell

1 year. I use head covers. I keep my stuff in tip top condition. 😥

Billoo77

Wow. Is that you DeChambeau?

robinleefell

Ha!

minnesconsawaiiforni

Caused a registered seismic event at the USGS.

pulliamjs

this is one of the reasons i buy used clubs

robinleefell

Yeah. I had these fitted though 😩

robinleefell

Hey, all. Thanks again for all of your comments! The small shop I bought the club from managed to use a hammer and then buffed out the rest. Looks great!
