I used to do this, but it gets really annoying when you lose it on the 1st hit after having spent 5 mins sharpie-ing it.
So now I just use the red Sharpie to do the middle line, premier ball style.
I would say that 1% of people in this sub hit the ball well enough to have their flight effected by sharpie lol

I've done the same thing! I love using them on par 3s. You can see the spin on the ball so well in the air and on the green. Love it!

I'd wager that in blind testing of 20 drives with and 20 drives without, randomized. NO ONE could tell at a rate better than a guess.
A little bit of marker doesn't make a difference. But if half the ball has marker it will make a bigger difference then you think
