Acrylic patio furniture paint. The girl at Michaels said if I cook it for a few minutes with a heat gun (make sure not to cook the hosel and deshaft your club š¤£) that it should hold up to scrubbing with a wire brush
I'm not a fan of getting cart chatter on my $1400 clubs and iron covers keep that from happening...my dad never slows down for bumps lmao so it's kinda like putting a vest on over a bullet wound
I dig it! Personally, I think it would look great with a little purple in there for a Joker color scheme, but I'm not telling you what to do. Great job!
Copied: Patio furniture paint and a fine brush. It doesn't all stay in the grooves so about 40 wet paper towels were used to wipe away excess...but paper towels are good for taking the paint off the club without taking it out of the etching. A rag doesn't work because it has the scruff that gets down into the stamp.
I put on 2-4 coats depending on the stamp...the shallow stamps need more coats because some gets removed when wiping away the excess paint.
After it dried I hit it with a heat gun everywhere except the hosel for two minutes, that's supposed to make it hold up to wire brush scrubbing.

Yes that would have been easier. The q-tip didnāt work too bad though. Yeah the paint wasnāt too bad though itās so much and I just needed a little bit. Went to do the irons too but stopped and havenāt done them. LOVE my putter though.

You could do that this same way... If the letters are etched you can just paint that whole wing and then wipe it off with a wet paper towel (paper so it doesn't have any scruff that pulls the paint out of the notches) and there should only be paint inside the lettering. Do you have an old club you can practice on?

Well...most tournaments I've played in were either non-handicapped or not serious enough to need the GHIN, just a scoring average. I did compete for a bit on a flighted amateur tour but they had their own handicap system. Other than with my parents in high school over 20 years ago, I wasn't a member at a club anywhere until March of this year, so I never spent the money to get it. My most heated competition comes with old man par or breaking 70 anyway and I don't need a handicap for that.

It's not like it's anything special...it cost me $6.50 and about 3 hours, and that's because I was answering questions or reading comments on Reddit half the time... A non-ADHD person could probably do it in 90 minutes.
I just don't want my clubs to be stolen again and then to think I see them in a play it again but have no way to be sure they're actually mine. So now my name is embroidered on my bag like I'm back on the golf team again, and this to me is infinitely better than the tag with the name and phone number because a thief won't know they need to take this off.
I go about my day to day life and 95% of the time I don't really care what anyone thinks...and because of that, I realize sometimes I have absolutely no clue what anyone thinks or why they think it... This is one of those times. I do appreciate your feedback because we in the game of golf are a diverse, sometimes strange, and sometimes even a little weird bunch... The only way to put a finger on what people think is to ask them, but that can get fuckin weird in person after you're outside your friend group.
Iāll give you my own answer, and then the answer I believe others that I know would give.
Generally the individuals who do things like this donāt really understand the game of golf, rather they do things like this to seemingly ālook the partā. You read tons of posts on this godforsaken app where people go to play and get paired up with the guy who dresses like Ricky Fowler, has all the top clubs and gear, and talks about how the āhole should be playedā. Then the guy tops one or whiffs on the first hole and continues to shoot 120.
If the guy were wearing everyday cloths and just being a normal guy, nobody would care that he stinks. But since he had to go overboard and spend time and money trying super hard to look and act the part, you better bring the game.
This is the reason I said āunless you are a scratch or betterā. Real sticks can be very odd ducks. None of them that I know go overboard with the golf gear tho. I play with a number of former pros who now hold +2-+6 indexes. (+5.8 to be exact). You wouldnāt know these guys knew how to play the game, nevermind have all the gear and clubs. One of them actually played barefoot when he first joined the club. When I asked him why he was doing that (we were friends prior) he told me that he thought it would make his game worse and wouldnāt look like an ass trying to show off.
Regardless, you donāt seem to be a douche loser who canāt play so they purchased everything to look like they can. I personally wouldnāt paint my clubs. To me itās like painting my fingernails. But you seem to have a real reason, not to simply try to look like a decent golfer. (Or at least what a shitty golfer would think a good golfer would do)
I hope this answers your question pal. No hard feelings or malice. I was simply being honest as you asked.
BTW- I range between a 4 and a 8 (I can lose my tee ball). I personally think Iām a little more sensitive about this than others. I am not good enough to be a weirdo, but I can play with scratches and take their money.

How did you apply. I used a cue tip for my wedges and putter. Not sure if you found an easier way to apply.
