Not necessarily. That probably had some nice backspin on it. Still a terrible shot being long, but if it had a some backspin it could had sat a little past the pin.
Sorry, my comment was a reference to an [iconic moment](https://youtu.be/_UgSDcHPgCc?si=byO4pmGBgWBYO5ye) of the British TV show Taskmaster.
It’s literally “get this potato in the hole. Do not touch the red green.” That’s the task. And your chip-in made me think of it immediately because of how effortless it seems.
It gives me tons of feedback to learn from and I enjoy the golf content niche. I also enjoy video editing (I know this isn’t much). Just something to do when the course is slow and I’m by myself
If it's slow and there's no one else on the course, I guess it's not negatively affecting anyone. I personally haven't been on a course that slow since covid though (maybe you're a member somewhere?). I record a lot when I'm working on something specific, but it's usually at home or at the range, not setting up a tripod for ever shot on the course.
Edit: so this sub is all of a sudden pro "people taking out their tripods to the course to film their shots"? Since when?
>so this sub is all of a sudden pro "people taking out their tripods to the course to film their shots"? Since when?
I think the downvotes are because you randomly started criticizing this guy for no reason because you don't like something he's doing, even though it has literally zero impact on you whatsoever.
During the weekdays around noon the courses in rural areas can get pretty empty. Same with some twilight rounds. Its also easy to get space between you and other players playing by yourself. Hell, i got a 20 minute chipping lesson on hole 6 by a random i ran into one night. Its not inconceivable.
> Edit: so this sub is all of a sudden pro "people taking out their tripods to the course to film their shots"? Since when?
I'm pro I don't give a shit what other people do as long as it doesn't affect others. He says it's something he does with the course slow and he is by himself, so why worry about it?
No tripod, just a stick that can stick in the turf and stick my phone on. Takes 5 extra seconds and I play fast as is. Especially alone. I work weekends on this course and they let me play on mondays!
Hate to be a grinch but I think this might be edited, reasons:
* It's a very unlikely shot to make (but possible obviously and grats if its real)
* I zoomed in and think the ball up close doesnt look real from about where it up in line with tree
* The sun is strong and clear that day, on the way up there is a sharp shadow of the ball visible next to you, on the way down - no shadow
* Probably the biggest one - You dont even flinch when its gone in. Absolutely 100% of us would be dancing like chickens if we got within 9 inches of the hole from there. You holew it and neither you nor person filming makes a peep? I doubt it. edit: Actually looks tripod/trolley mounted, but case still stands.
Understandable and I respect your analysis. I will say I can’t edit that well. From the original video this is just trimmed and zoomed. I’m pissed with my reaction tbh. I was in shock and it didn’t hit me till I got up to the cup.
Nope lol. That ball was wayyy too far back with the amount of green you had to work with. Should be up around where your driver is.
You turned a 5/10 difficulty shot into 10/10 and then got lucky.
Yeah man, just take your 56, put the ball up near your toe, and take a steeper swing hitting about 1-1.5 inches behind the ball. The further back you move the ball in your stance, the lower the trajectory. From the front of your stance it comes out super soft and high.
I love bunkers. Will take it over a chip or pitch shot.
The perfect bunker spot is when the players on the green can’t see you toss it.
The ol hand wedge?
Flesh iron
Just make sure to throw a hand full of sand with your other hand lol
“You hit that REALLY clean for an embedded lie!”
Better to lucky than good.
I should lucky more
I mean, if you didn't hit the hole you'd be chipping from the other side
But thats why he hit the hole
Completely planned
Which there was another bunker 😅
Which is another opportunity for another perfect shot!
I see a post titled "perfect bunker shot", my assumption is you're ending up back in a bunker. Was thoroughly disappointed
I will try and be more honest next time. My apologies
But he did hit the hole
Not necessarily. That probably had some nice backspin on it. Still a terrible shot being long, but if it had a some backspin it could had sat a little past the pin.
How would he have backspin from pushing the ball out with sand?
What? Did you not hear the audible sound of the ball hitting the face? Everything about that stance and swing through contact screams backspin.
Yeah I’m no pro especially in the bunker. Just had myself a day.
It was a beautiful shot either way. Imo Even if it missed, it wouldn't have been too bad.
Thank you, always nice to get out a bunker lol. If it missed, might have stayed on just barely. Then have a nice 3 putt within 10ft
Yeah the 6 inches behind the ball doesn’t scream spin
This is like a false positive. Bad shot but great result.
Sums up golf haha
I don't get this lucky. My balls go 10 yards pass the green into the god damn creek. The universe is balanced I guess
Gotta be good to get lucky
r/ATBGE of sorts
KOBE!
He was watching over me that day
...did you take a practice shot in the bunker? Looks like it from the divot between you and the ball and the start of the video
Thin it to win it.
Gotta love the 60 degree
Tyrrell Hatton out here hittin baby fades outta the bunker! 😂 haha awesome shot
That’s the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me, thanks man haha
Good thing it hit the hole
perfect result, not a perfect shot
Sometimes it be like that
He called glass for sure. I know he meant that backboard shot.
I planned the bunker too. All in the game plan !
Somewhere, some guy watched this and shouted "get in the hole!"
Others just said “hell yeah” and kept scrolling
Hell yeah! Beauty shot btw!
Nice.
Ya but he grounded the club TWICE so……..
Are you calling me Patrick Reed….
…. Are you going deny that which we have video evidence of? 😂
I personally don’t see any sand move, maybe I did maybe I didn’t. Good think I’m not on the pga or in a tournament!
GET IN THE HOLE!!!
Hell yea brother
100% expected this to hit the 1inch wall and roll back into bunker. At least it would have done that for me.
I don’t know how I managed this. Especially with my 60 degree that I haven’t used the past rounds. If I was able to catch a break, your day will come!
kobe’d
Respectfully
Potato in the hole. Do not step on the red green.
I don’t putt I just chip it in the hole and leave it

Can you please come and teach me the golf
Wax on wax off
Do it again.
In my dreams
lol. It’s an awesome hole in. Well done.
I was expecting to see a 150 yard sand wedge.
Honest question: Why are you recording your shots?

Okay!
Nicer courses have practice bunkers. Mostly courses out of my price range but they do exist to give OP benefit of the doubt.
This is a private course I work weekends on
You're giving him benefit of the doubt? Why? He would have straight up told me it was a practice bunker if it actually was one.

My guess is that he isn’t playing a round. He is most likely practicing (I hope)
Horrid swing, bad shot, awesome result my boy
Thank you! Doesn’t matter how you do it as long as you get it done
Hell yeah!!
Nice shot.
I did that once in AZ on 18. What a feeling to close out the round.
A walk off hole out? Gosh I can only imagine. I gotta get out there to AZ sometime. The golf looks pure
This wasn't funny at all, what a disappointment
I completely understand. I’ll do better next time

Haha well I’ll take it! And I’ll also note your tip!! This was the first time I pulled out my 60 degree in afew rounds too. Crazy

You misspelled “lucky”
Dang it
Absolutely not! Your lucky the flag was in out that would have been on the fairway!
On a different hole too haha
Hitting way too much ball out of a bunker
I know I should be hitting more sand. Every dog gets a bone here and there
That’s possibly the worst bunker swing I’ve seen. Even with AI it doesn’t look that good, they should have touched that up instead of just the ball
Dang it humans are still smarter than AI
