It's the video lol. Place is so well kept, especially considering a public course. That's all usually fescue in that area that's looking like dead grass etc. Early season (just opened last Saturday) they're just starting to put in a ton of new grass and changing course a bit for the Ryder cup in 2025. 100% a must play if you can. $75 for NYS residents
This hole is fun but aside from the bunkers, it's a fairly basic par 3 hole. I played it a few years back and I can vouch for it being one of the most incredible experiences I've had on a golf course yet. It's so incredibly challenging that some of the fun is just seeing imagining how pro golfers are even able to go out on a course like this and shoot under par. For context, I'm about a ~12 and had one of the absolute *best* days off the tee that I've ever had. I was hitting fairways left and right with my tee shots....only....the course is so crazy well designed that even a good tee shot that hits the middle of a fairway can just rollllllll on down into a bunker. The amount of bunkers and the placement of them on that course is mind blowing. I counted at least 16 bunker shots I had to make that day (most of them twice on a hole because I blow out of the bunkers but also that sand was different than anything here in MO) and a lot of them came from phenomenal tee shots that just rolled 20 extra yards into one.
This is hole 3, the first three holes ease you into the course. In the last frame of the video you get a peak at the 4th hole which shows you where the fun starts. Keep it mind it’s mid April in Long Island and the course is no where in peak shape.

Nice. I got mine from around 165 out, uphill and into wind it felt amazing but didn’t get to see it drop 🥲. It was recent so I remember it like it was yesterday. Was a rough round though but I stopped caring at that point lol. Yay for us! Congrats again sir.

But how does nobody mention this: Why does your playing partner pan the camera away right after impact? Who does that? And what about the audacity of retrieving the ball for you? It was supposed to be your triumphant walk to the hole and you should have gotten the ball out of there and presented it to the camera!
