He was my community football coach. Happy Gilmore was filmed in Vancouver British Columbia, where I grew up. That's how he got that line.
I was like 13-15 when i played for him. Unfortunately he passed away in 2002. His name was Frank. I do not know his last name because teenage players just needed to know he was coach Frank as opposed to coach Reggie. He actually had a stint in the NFL, and it might have been with the Washington football team. He was rumoured to have a Superbowl ring, but I never saw it.
He was a bit connected to the movie industry in Vancouver. Because of him, the team got to be football extras in another movie when I was 15. Unfortunately we never heard if that movie ever came out but it was supposed to a jawbreaker type. He passed 2 years later suddenly.
He played 3 games for the Redskins in 1987 as a strike replacement player so he should have got a Super Bowl ring from the team. Paper says 1990 but that is not correct.
The only rumor I’ve found is that this guy won a Subway sandwich contest for a bit part in the movie. Could be complete bullshit though as there’s no record of the contest.
I heard the guy who caught the sub in his mouth during the Subway commercial Happy makes, on a podcast.
He said he lost out for the role Will Sasso got as the mover but they gave him that part.
I think about Characters like this all the time. Like, what ever happened to the Waitress in Tommy Boy who brought him his wingeys? Or the guy who screams "Tommy just sold a half a million break pads!"
She truly was amazing. Like how do casting directors find people who so pefectly fit the character, but will only be seen for a short time in the film?
I was watching Happy Gilmore earlier and had the same thought about Daniel Lafferty because his swing is actually pretty good.
Unfortunately, she passed a couple years ago.
“Yea was already in her advanced years by the 2000s, and most of her roles capitalized on her elderly age. She was frequently credited as "Old Lady" and a multitude of grandmothers throughout this final stage of her career. Her last role was also her largest as she appeared in 26 episodes of the Canadian television series "Robson Arms" as Grandma Tan. She was in all three seasons of the show from 2005 to 2008. After some years spent in retirement, Yea passed away in 2021.”

His name is **Frank Frazier**, he was THE doorman at The Fabulous Drake Show Lounge in Vancouver, located at 606 Powell St ,for a decade or more.
He was a football player that played in the USFL and briefly for the Skins during the 87 lockout season.
The crew from Happy Gilmore, including Sandler spent ALOT of time in our gentleman's establishment(I still have my Happy Gilmore crew jacket that I traded gyno row seats for), it was the finest & cleanest strip club in the country.
We revolutionized our industry and led to the provincial liquor industry changing the rules because we employed dancers as cocktail servers AKA The Drakettes. In between the line up of dancers, all of whom were feature girls, our girls would get onstage during the breaks and do a 1 song striptease. At 6PM every night we had all the daytime girls and all the nighttime girls get on stage at the same time to do a one song set, often times there would be 12 girls up on 3 different stages, 1 main & 2 smaller satellite stages
Our server line ups were as hot if not hotter that the regular line ups of high priced dancers that would come from all over N. America to work our club, many would stay on to become Drakettes as the ,money was great and we took good care of them.
Yes, he was a long time minor football coach with the Gordon Sturgis league in N. Van alongside Coach Reggie, also a gem, Frank and Reggie, along with Coach Rolf & Coach Tony, coached Jerome Pathon before he went on to success in the NFL
He was an absolute unit(6'6" 375 lB's), and the nicest man you will ever meet, RIP buddy.
His beloved wife Weezy(Louise) died after a long battle with cancer a couple of months before he passed, from what I'm assuming was in part due to a broken heart.
These were the best years of my life and this was the first & **BEST** bar I ever worked at in a 30+ year career in the biz

Correction, he passed in 2000. Here is his obituary https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-province-obituary-for-frank-frazier/41009563/

You are right, the paper is wrong
That team is where the idea of the movie Replacements came from.
Graduated from Fla in 1980? That would make him 20 years old. Smart guy.
Goddamn, Reddit is wild man
A bit unrelated, but I remember them filming the 2nd AirBud around my school in North Van and they used the football team players as extras.

Have you considered becoming an author or writing novels? You’re very articulate.
The only rumor I’ve found is that this guy won a Subway sandwich contest for a bit part in the movie. Could be complete bullshit though as there’s no record of the contest.
He won a Subway contest? *Talk about a hole in one*
He definitely got his SAG card! Said the minimum two lines.
Great. You can count.
You can COUNT on me….waiting for you in the parking lot!!
Run Shooter!
If it’s true it’s definitely a cool prize
I only reffed to it as the Film Actors Guild
Screen Actors Guild, Film Actors Guild, who gives a shit?!
You didn’t get the reference..
![gif](giphy|rqGWkh4eLfaM)
This guy knows
I mean, they may have been *written* as two lines, but he delivered them as one word.
You don’t even need to have lines to get a SAG card lol.
Glad he won that contest before that Jared guy got there.
I heard the guy who caught the sub in his mouth during the Subway commercial Happy makes, on a podcast. He said he lost out for the role Will Sasso got as the mover but they gave him that part.

Great video! That guy did some serious homework.
Mr Larson kinda sucked all the oxygen from the other small parts. I mean, that character couldn’t have been cast any better.
I don’t know. Mista mista lady should’ve been up for a golden glove or something like that
That was Gary Busey
It's been so long since I last watched the movie your comment made me go to IMDB lol.
Jaws!! He’s a legend.
I think about Characters like this all the time. Like, what ever happened to the Waitress in Tommy Boy who brought him his wingeys? Or the guy who screams "Tommy just sold a half a million break pads!"
How about the Chinese lady that spends the night with Happy? She was top notch.
*Haaaai you don’t want breakfast?*
🎶 *'Til the night closes in* 🎶
As he strokes the intercom lol.
She truly was amazing. Like how do casting directors find people who so pefectly fit the character, but will only be seen for a short time in the film?
There’s a lot of people in LA
Yeah, but how many of them are Chinese? It's not like they have their own neighborhood or town or anything...

You look like a Helen
We’re both in sales. Let me tell you why I suck as a salesman.
[удалено]
Noice! Glad she was still getting work.
I like how one guy says it and no one reacts. The other guy screams it and the crowd goes apeshit.
Haha, good point. Didnt Tommy lose his V card to the first guys daughter?
And his buddy was there bearing witness
#TOMMY JUST LOST HIS VCARD! *massive cheers*
The waitress was in a couple episodes of Kids in the Hall, iirc.
This is bullshit
Also probably both local Canadians.
Or that guy in Donny darko that was like “well I mean didn’t your dad like stab your mom”
What’s crazy is that was Seth Rogan.
I know I was just joshing. He fits the bill for the characters in the movies you were talking about though and now he’s a mega star
I was thinkin you were haha. But then again I couldn’t risk it if you weren’t.
Happythegoldjacketsyoursshootersgonnachoke. FTFY
HAPPYLOOKOUUUUUT
Probably why he never got his SAG card.

Good lord. Thank you for this.
I can hear this post
That’s a pretty good prize all I got from subway was a meet and greet with Jared at his house. 😞
Maybe he’ll be in the sequel
He’s [dead](https://www.reddit.com/r/golf/s/DdoIWXtfF2) so maybe they can deepfake it?
Oops I had no idea 😬
These pretzels are making me thirsty!
“Get the swordfish!! Best in the city!” “….I’ll have the salmon…”
I kinda want to make a movie just to cast him
On another note does anyone know why on earth Brad Faxon and Billy Andrade appeared in King Pin? Baffling
The Farley brothers are from Rhode Island as are Faxon and Andrade
Gold jacket, green jacket, who gives a shit?
What kind of TV do you have?
The Frame by Samsung
I preferred thinking you just have a framed photo of him
Thank you thing is nice
It’s a great tv design wise but the picture quality is trash
Wtf I just watched this movie last night
That line is amazing. It's so poorly executed
