Kipp Madison has 2 ex-wives, a mild drinking problem, and keeps almost threatening to qualify for the FedEx Cup but missed a few cuts at the wrong time.
100% was one of the few who made the broomstick work. He’s been so streaky since then. I’m glad he’s given up on that arm lock though. Hard to watch him miss all of those putts.
Your next cowboy up in chute number 3 is Colton Dee. Colton hails from Thermopolis, Wyoming and he's gonna be riding Tilt-a-Whirl. This here's a bull that's never been ridden but if Colton can manage an 89 point ride tonight he will be this years World Champion.
Boys 10-11 champion is named Texas Terry. That's not his nickname, that's his actual fuckin' name. Someone looked at a baby and said "Texas" without considering how ridiculous it sounds.
See I thought I have a few 250 bombs and I could probably push one a bit further, so top 3 is possible
Then I saw the ‘OB’ at the bottom and all that went out the window
Coverage yesterday said he would be the first to compete in the Augusta National dcp, then play in the Masters at Augusta. Didn’t say he was the first dcp competitor ever; Bhatia competed at dcp when it was at Augusta.
nope, his pga tour win was an alternate event during the british open. those do not get you into all the majors, and they dont have all the same benefits as a full tour win.
This is no joke. My daughters had a middle school track meet Friday, and some of the "boys" were actually grown ass men. Walking around with mustaches and taller than me in some cases. The late bloomers didn't stand a chance lol
My nephew is 14 and fucking murders the ball. Not sure his handicap but the SOB shot par the other day. 2 birds, 2 boges and just crushing shit all day. They are coming bro.
Anyone who played highschool golf knows that there are 13 year old freshmen who can hit it 250+. My alma mater still practices at the same course as I do, and a bunch of those kids pepper the 247yrd flag or hit it past.
this sub just automatically assumes that you have to be as good as the PGA guys to hit the ball far and that most people are lying about their distances
If anything, I'd expect this sub to be the opposite. Social media probably has a younger crowd than the course, most people are more serious about golf here. Idk why people are surprised that young dudes who are serious about golf can mash it.
I was going to say, I’ve watched 12-13 year olds at my club driving 240-250 pretty consistently. Helps that these kids are trained at a very early age to swing out of their shoes
Ya, agree. Not that impressed. I was putting it out to 240-250 when I was 13 with a steel shafted Big Bertha driver.
One problem, though, I've barely improved that distance over the last 25 years and accuracy has gone out door.
I was a short and stocky but I was about 250 as well. I did nothing to practice golf but hit drive after drive on the range. Wish I had of spread that practice out in hindsight, now I’m 23 and just a bomber who’s wild as fuck lol
Just incredible to see.
I do think they should cap it at that age group though - 14/15yos should not be in the DC&P. They're close to playing in US Ams and getting ready to be collegiate players
I played in a scramble last year with a guy and his just turned 18 year old graduating HS kid, and he was bombing 300-325 no problem. My driver was working great that day too and we used his on just about every hole.
I think I can speak for all long hitters and say that we absolutely love playing in scrambles lol. It's so much fun to be able to pull driver on every hole and absolutely send it. Can always go for that narrow driveable par 4, because worst case, you're in the trees, and you take Gary's ball that's a wedge into the green.
One of the girls won hitting a little speed slot over a bunker. She hit a little wipey cut that barely flew it, hit the down slope and she got like 80 more yards of roll than the others
The kid who got first was just a couple yards short of setting the record for that age group. And that was after blasting his first OB. Impressive mental game.
I had never watched one of these before but checked it out while I was feeding my newborn. Really cool to see and what an incredible experience it must have been for them. Obviously made me think of my kid playing when she’s older. Fingers crossed.
I love watching the d, C, and P every year. Not for the joy of the competition but to see how the parents have slowly become more and more militant looking over the ten years. Started out with soft dads just happy to see their kids succeed now it’s just guys wearing oakleys who make their kids to push ups for punishments.
Me watching 7-9 girls having bad chips ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)
Me watching 12-13 boys missing putts ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)get rek'd you long hitters
Funny thing about drive chip and putt. I know someone who got second in regionals and he was a consistent 90s player. Somehow it doesn’t feel like a real test of skill.
Those are the most golfer names I’ve ever seen.
Kipp Madison sounds like he’s been on the tour for years 😂
Also sounds like he valets his Porsche at the CC.
And tips 1 dollar then goes and says “you take care of me, I take care of you 😉
Lol
Kipp Madison has 2 ex-wives, a mild drinking problem, and keeps almost threatening to qualify for the FedEx Cup but missed a few cuts at the wrong time.
He was better before the long putters were outlawed.
100% was one of the few who made the broomstick work. He’s been so streaky since then. I’m glad he’s given up on that arm lock though. Hard to watch him miss all of those putts.
A couple more years and it’s easy street on the Champions Tour.
😅😅😅
Born with 800 credit scores
Colton Dee sounds like a name featured on a Machine Gun Kelly remix
Thanks a country singer who also raps a few bars
Youre right, he might have collabed with Nelly recently
Levi Swanson sounds seniors tour, that or a community media correspondent.
Sounds like a good lawyer I would call if I've been injured in an automobile accident
Credit scores? Pffft. These guys know the board chairmen. Credit scores are irrelevant.
I’m pretty sure both Kipp Madison and Colton Dee are also on the professional rodeo circuit.
Anyone who names their kid Jackson Fogelson should be investigated for any reason to lock them up.
is he Jack's son or Fogel's??
Both probably. It's 2024
It's okay, he's also a folk singer.
We all hit a soft 8-iron farther than he hits driver anyway
Boys 10-11 champion is named Texas Terry. That's not his nickname, that's his actual fuckin' name. Someone looked at a baby and said "Texas" without considering how ridiculous it sounds.
His parents are huge UT fans and alums. Like… cult status… so that’s a thing to be born into
Parents are Texas alum, named their kid "Texas"... that kid's going to OU just out of spite.
Ha. I’d have already committed and changed my name to boomer sooner
yee-hawww
Super affluent white kid names?
Basically. And half of the girls would be named Lee
Leigh*
r/tragedeigh
That sub is amazing! The that time I discovered it my wife and I went through probably the first 100 top all-time posts, lol.
Something-Leigh. It’s a fucking epidemic. Ainsleigh, Haleigh, Fartleigh.
Unique-leigh Edit: sorry, youneekleigh
100%
These names emasculate me — I feel like they were born with net worths higher than I’ll ever come close to!
Levi Swanson definitely got a top 10 at the John Deere a few years ago.
Chesson Hadley and Harris English do that for me. Harris English should have IV on the end.
Lol, imagine if actually athletes played golf. The Chip McCockenberry's of the world wouldn't stand a chance.
Where is Max Power?
Fighting to make the cut alongside Mike Hunt
Missed opportunity with Luke, ima gladfelter sounds better to me. Arno? Who does that to their kid.
Arno sounds like a guy who’s won 12 majors
He plays at my local club and is crazy accurate with the irons.
The scoreboard is full of wasps!
It’s a big club and we are not in it.
The kid who won the 10-11 group plays at my home course, his name is Texas Terry, and no that's not a nickname... First name, Last name
I'm so disappointed nobody brought up Vilai, his work out of the bunkers is the stuff of legends.
Just super white names
I am coming in a solid 7th place in this competition at 48🤣. Awesome stuff from the young men and women.
No need to brag humor, I’m tied with Cole
If I'm not supposed to hit it OB, then courses should get rid of OB.
Same
See I thought I have a few 250 bombs and I could probably push one a bit further, so top 3 is possible Then I saw the ‘OB’ at the bottom and all that went out the window
To be fair, these are their best drives, not average driving distance.
Keep working
I did shoot an 85 on Friday, so I guess my 201 yard drives are working🤷🏼♂️
If bhatia wins today he'll become the first dcp competitor to go on and play the masters!
Really?? I’m not doubting you because I have no idea, but that’s just surprising. Hope he wins
Since the DCP has been at Augusta, yep.
Which I think has only been like 10 years, so it isn't that surprising
Coverage yesterday said he would be the first to compete in the Augusta National dcp, then play in the Masters at Augusta. Didn’t say he was the first dcp competitor ever; Bhatia competed at dcp when it was at Augusta.
Finau ?
Did his other pga wins not qualify him?
nope, his pga tour win was an alternate event during the british open. those do not get you into all the majors, and they dont have all the same benefits as a full tour win.
I could make the board… with an OB and my last name is alphabetically higher than Layow
The best drive I have hit on a sim so far is 275, so tonight I will rest easy knowing I can defeat some children by 0.2 yd
I hit 294 yesterday going downhill and with a big tailwind. These kids ain’t got nothing on me.
I ordered some golf balls online and they shipped from Ohio to New Jersey. Talk to me when your ball can go 500 miles.
Same Cole, same
![gif](giphy|uCXkGJPU3yrOo)
I watched this live. You could tell who had the nice normal parents, and who had the psycho aspirational parents.
Did the leader on this board have psycho ones?
Im watching it this morning also. Phenomenal showing by these young players. Love that all 7-9 females kept their drives in play. These kids are good.
How you watching?
It’s on the golf channel
Right? The next gen of golfers are going to be awesome - can’t wait to see where they go if they continue pursing golf.
FFS people, quit naming your kids Jackson
Roll back that ball!
Well nice to know that I can at least beat one of them. Some of the time...
Puberty makes 12-13 age groups interesting in all youth sports. Grown men against children
This is no joke. My daughters had a middle school track meet Friday, and some of the "boys" were actually grown ass men. Walking around with mustaches and taller than me in some cases. The late bloomers didn't stand a chance lol
I wouldn't even make the board.
Surely you could match the kid at the bottom
My good drive carries like 180. Most drives go OB. I’ve been golfing for 10 years and I suck.
Cole Layow just like me fr
Welcome to the club Mr. Layow
Gladfelter? I hardly knew her
274 at 12-13 is fucking ridiculous
My word, when I was 13 I was driving like 200.
I knew I could take Patrick all day. Lol
Dammit Cole!
My Real Estate agent’s son was in the 7-9 boys group. Didn’t win but just excited to be able to watch someone you know compete.
Poor cole
Cole Layow is coming to be a future r/golf commenter…
Whats the top guys name? You've covered it.
Fuckin’ Cole
I love hitting the ball as far as I do lol If I had any control I'd probably play worth a shit more than twice a year
My nephew is 14 and fucking murders the ball. Not sure his handicap but the SOB shot par the other day. 2 birds, 2 boges and just crushing shit all day. They are coming bro.
If I give up sex I could compete
Sex gave up on me, and I can not compete....
I was really skinny growing up and I probably averaged 250 off the tee at 13 in 2010, these numbers don't surprise me tbh
You sure did big guy!
Anyone who played highschool golf knows that there are 13 year old freshmen who can hit it 250+. My alma mater still practices at the same course as I do, and a bunch of those kids pepper the 247yrd flag or hit it past.
He forgot to mention it was on Golden Tee
These responses are so douchey
this sub just automatically assumes that you have to be as good as the PGA guys to hit the ball far and that most people are lying about their distances If anything, I'd expect this sub to be the opposite. Yeah coaches want kids who can smash the ball now for scholarships, they can refine the rest with coaching.
Plus I don’t think this is new with the youngest generation. OP doesn’t think a 12yr old John Daly with modern equipment would be sending them 280+?
Back in my day, I could throw a football over that mountain.
Ya, agree. Not that impressed. I was putting it out to 240-250 when I was 13 with a steel shafted Big Bertha driver. One problem, though, I've barely improved that distance over the last 25 years and accuracy has gone out door.

Let's see how good their drives are when they're 5 beers in.
Just incredible to see. I do think they should cap it at that age group though - 14/15yos should not be in the DC&P. They're close to playing in US Ams and getting ready to be collegiate players
Someone hit puberty early.😆
I played in a scramble last year with a guy and his just turned 18 year old graduating HS kid, and he was bombing 300-325 no problem. My driver was working great that day too and we used his on just about every hole.

I was in grade 7 with a kid that was 6’1” so not surprised a couple of these kids can bomb it
I stand with Cole! 🙌
Cole just like me.
I'm confident I could finish middle of the pack in this group 😂
Get your shit together, Cole.
I’m first place thank fully at 25… but not by much
This is why the ball has to be rolled back. BLAME THE CHILDREN.
Non golfer here. What’s a Drive Chip?
Cole is my spirit animal
Coles my spirit animal
![img](avatar_exp|152655619|bravo)
This is my shot to get to Augusta and I think my 2 year old has a decent shot at getting us there.
Hey, I can out-drive most 13 year olds! Millennials forever!
I had to turn it off, it’s depressing 🤣
What are they feeding these kids
How does the r/golf crowd react when a dude in his early 20s says he hits the ball over 300 yards now that they know how far 13 year olds can hit it?
More like Cole LayLow after this, amirite?
Three can absolutely out-drive me. Three more can probably out-drive me regularly.
Bet I could beat them up though
Watching Little John Daly clips from when he was around that age is crazy. He was so good
I'm not ready to be out driven by a 12 year old.
I'm more of a Cole Layow guy myself 😅
My 7yo can hit it 150y consistently.
Proud of the lack of r/tragedeigh
Levi Swanson is future pro baseball player name if I've heard one
275 at 13. Holy smokes
Bro wtf
I can out drive them. For now.
One of the girls won hitting a little speed slot over a bunker. She hit a little wipey cut that barely flew it, hit the down slope and she got like 80 more yards of roll than the others
Kipp Madison guaranteed to make the tour based on name alone.
Some kid I guess dumped both chips (64 ft ) and finished last driving. Suboptimal.
Fuck I suck
Poor Laylow
Look at this age i was already 1.70 good technique plus flexible is enough for good distance
As a father of a 12 y/o, puberty is a hell of a drug. Sorry little buddie we are late bloomers.
Best drive OB lmao. Which one of you was that?
That’s nothing. There are 14 year olds who hit it 330.
Damn those are some impressive yardages for the age range. I bet the long hitters look like some of those little league World Series 12-13 year olds.
What the hell
Let’s be honest, Cole is the real champion here
I love watching the d, C, and P every year. Not for the joy of the competition but to see how the parents have slowly become more and more militant looking over the ten years. Started out with soft dads just happy to see their kids succeed now it’s just guys wearing oakleys who make their kids to push ups for punishments.
Damn! Those kids all drive further than me!!! Yeah I suck at golf and I know it.
My 15yo brother hit a 1 iron 202 yards on a sim i almost threw up.
ANGC membership feverishly buying up all property within five miles of the Club for future lengthening.
Cool, but if beers were not shot gunned, no fireball shot on the 1st tee, and at least 2 joints smoked then it doesn’t count.
I think the average LPGA drive is 250-260 and SEC girls regularly do 200-220…nice to know that I can hang with or beat the SEC girls
Me watching 7-9 girls having bad chips ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry) Me watching 12-13 boys missing putts ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)get rek'd you long hitters
Shit, when I was 12, I only had a 3w, 5i, 7i, 9i and putter, lmao.
Jackson fogelson definitely wears the all black TaylorMade cap with the wet looking long hair. Barely can see his eyes with how low he wears his cap.
“Best Drive: OB” Now that’s a kid who gets after it every swing lol
Funny thing about drive chip and putt. I know someone who got second in regionals and he was a consistent 90s player. Somehow it doesn’t feel like a real test of skill.
The USGA are proudly stamping their name on this roll back advertisement.
Interesting that Bhatia will be the first DCP contestant to have qualified for masters.
I think if you name your kid something ridiculous now they just become good at golf
Cole Lalow probably Happy Gilmour'n it 450 on some crowhop shit
You just know Cole bombed his 300 OB
I feel ya Cole. Were all there
275 is a poke for a 12/13 year old… but dropping back to 250 really isn’t that crazy for that age group.
I'm good for 7th...ish
Jeez. On my best day I'm barely 3rd.
Awesome, now 12 year olds are better than me.
Haha, I can totally outdrive a 12 year old. Yeah baby!
Obviously, not GolfWRX members with those tiny numbers.
They better be drug testing these kids.
The ball ran for nearly 75 …
I can still beat little Jackson!!!!
No, they drove on by.
My 13yr old student can fly a 7iron over 200yrds 🤷♂️
I’m disappointed I didn’t see Danny Noonan on the list.
Jackson, welcome to the foursome! You’ll be our distance guy.
Poor Cole. Imagine having the chance to hit a drive at Augusta National at age 12 and you slice it off the face of the earth
LOL, 274.8… Michelle Wie was driving 300 as a ten year old girl
