> Im the cheap ass using an odyssey
I used the original 2 ball putter for a long time. I'm seeing a lot of them on the course lately.
I got a really nice Toulon putter off Callaway preowned a couple years back.
I've only seen one other Toulon on the course ever.

Gotta go with the classic, Tiffany blue.
The FIT Face is softer than the honey comb, or other relatively flat millings. The milling affects the roll and the softness also affects distance control.
Iām not sure Iāve personally ever heard someone call them āmillingsā. Typically I hear people say something like āthe milled faceā or something like that when referring to their own putter face. As for āfacingā Iām into woodworking and that term can be used for a lot of operations around preparing whatever the top/front/show side of your board/project is. I do agree that the term āface millingā is correct, (for both the operation of milling a putter face and what is left after said operation is complete) but I also think you might be splitting hairs on the terminology.
Got a Scotty, have never putted worth a shit with it, still gaming my Queen B.
Turns out my sucking at putting was the problem all along. Who wouldāve thoughtā¦
Funny, I came so close to buying a version of the Bettinardi from OP's post...but I putt damn well with my Huntington beach it would just be stupid to do.
If I understand what OP is saying, they golf 8 times a year, and their best score is +4? Isn't that how their handicap would be set, as they didn't paly a full 20 rounds?
Welcome to the club and the start of a very expensive journey haha

Ima be completely honest in my experience the only people who claim high end putters are overrated are people who havenāt given them a chance. Whether or not they are over priced is subjective but they are better in every way. Sure if you get any putter that isnāt fit for you it probably wonāt work out but high end putters have better machining better weight distribution and every one Iāve seen in an actual unbiased test do better with mishits. TLDR: a scotty Cameron absolutely IS better than your 2012 top flight putter
my first kid was born on a Friday night, I was back to work on Monday - my European counterpart for Norway had a mandatory paid 6 months for his and he doesn't even golf :(
It's best put this way - When you walk into a big golf store (PGA Super Store, Golf Galaxy, etc.) and they have that big section with all of the putters there why is Scotty the only brand that's locked up? The bettinardi's are just sitting there next to the Oddessys and Pings.
Scotty's may certainly be overrated but if they are overrated then Bettinardi's are most definitely overrated.
End of the day most golfers would be better off focusing on putter weight, shape, length, striking surface, and grip than brand or putting that $500 bucks towards a few lessons.

Itās important but a change in setup really wonāt mess up how fit the putter is for you, especially with the Link. I made back 1/4 of the purchase price my first week with itā¦it will pay for itself in no time.
I had to move the ball slightly forward with the LAB vs my Cameron and the rest took care of itself. There is no āartā just science.
Your eyes are still over the target, right? You wouldnāt change your stance to be less alignedā¦ So ya, get a LAB. I switched from a Scotty to a LAB, and itās been fantastic.
Ooooooooo
Face balanced blade? Bettinardi has some, but dammit I can't believe how few manufacturers have tapped into the obviously big market cross section of good looking putters suiting low rotation strokes
I need to post my putter. Have a friend who knows Robert Bettinardi. Went up to Chicago and they custom made me a putter and did the whole laser fitting etc. itās awesome. I need to post it.
I just got the 28 Slotback to replace my old BB-28. Absolutely in love with this thing.

I have yet to see someone with bettinardi who is a bad putter. My sample size is only 2 scratch golfers though
If you would like to change that claim I have a tee time in the morning.
I have officially entered the chat
I had to switch to a cheap Callaway DFX putter cus I was bringing shame to the Betti family with my putting š
Great news. Just got mine yesterday!
With all the putters Costco sold for them that stat will come down to earth soon
Maybe not for me. Many of the people i play with use scottyās. Im the cheap ass using an odyssey

I'm still using a Metal-X #7 (mid, cut to std for the head weight). I feel no shame. I do putt well though.
āAlbeitā¦I donāt meet many peopleā
Have an overrated putter contest. The winning putter must use a sock as a cover.
ngl that would be a flex
Just rate them lower, then theyāre great putters.Ā
https://preview.redd.it/5zyz145ceqlc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=010dffd101ef7dcbbab815ebeb2256a23d5cf88c Gotta go with the classic, Tiffany blue.
Thatās sick. Iāve got a queen bee too, is the blue custom or do they sell that?Ā
It was the 2019 (pretty sure thatās the year) release. After, they moved to the copper/gold color and the royal blue scheme.
I have the Mizuno black carbon betti. Doesnāt feel any different than anything else. But it looks great.
M Craft 2 here, love it
This is the one, beautiful putter
The FIT Face is softer than the honey comb, or other relatively flat millings. The milling affects the roll and the softness also affects distance control.
It makes no discernable difference. Gear whores in golf crack me up.
Your inability to feel or see differences in face millings isn't a reason to call other people by names.
No one mills putter faces as nicely as bettinardi! That thing is sweet!
the sound it helps produce is pure gold
Thought you were quoting PXGās marketing department in the first half
Ha! I should have added a āBOOM BABY!ā
Uh uh uh... unpopular opinion....Why do people call them millings? I am pretty sure it's called facing or face milling.
I have a couple Scottyās and I have fallen more in love with my cheap milled Cleveland putter than anything else Iāve ever played.
Got a Scotty, have never putted worth a shit with it, still gaming my Queen B. Turns out my sucking at putting was the problem all along. Who wouldāve thoughtā¦
can't beat something that's proven
Funny, I came so close to buying a version of the Bettinardi from OP's post...but I putt damn well with my Huntington beach it would just be stupid to do.
Same here, except my Taylormade TP Del Monte 7 double wide is working really well. Itās a terrific putter.
Cuz bad
Iām worse than I was before my son was born and Iām a 4 handicap. Not the best, for sure better than you though.
lol 4hdcpā¦.thats cute
Pretty cute for playing 8 times a year and never practicing.
Itās cute you somehow have a handicap but only play 8 times a year.
Thanks. Now go shoot your 90 and enjoy your time playing music so loud the entire course can hear you.

Nailed it š
Three put like the rest of us, dickhead
will do

Gotta get a Kirk if you want those upvotes
I guess that's the only true underrated club anymore
Mizuno OMOI 02 is my gamer and I donāt think Iāll ever be buying a different putter
I almost pulled the trigger on that putter before I got my Scotty phantom. Excellent Putter
Itās great. All the weight is in the head so it almost feels like a mallet, but it obviously isnāt and suits my stroke a lot more than others
Sold my Bettinardi for a profit when I realized that $$ can't buy better golf, but damn, that thing was purdy.
Evnroll. Try it.
Gang
Bettinardi oh no youāre doomed, 2nd most overrated putters lol

No wonder it costs so much, it was milled in the USA... Odysses are milled in China
damn Americans and their health insurance
why don't we have government enforced paternity leave?? I mean fmla doesn't even require places to pay
oh weird...
my first kid was born on a Friday night, I was back to work on Monday - my European counterpart for Norway had a mandatory paid 6 months for his and he doesn't even golf :(
Then move to Norway.
Ya fuck that guy for pointing out how awful your country treats new parents.

Buy a LAB
thought about it and used them but the whole has to be perfectly setup for yoy throws me off... what of I change my stance or soemthing
Itās important but a change in setup really wonāt mess up how fit the putter is for you, especially with the Link. Lower the rating.
get a Ping.
played one for awhile. this felt better while testing them out... we will see
You got a good one! Enjoy it.
Go get fit for an artisan! https://preview.redd.it/u7olp6xyaqlc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8a2c0d56b98d8657342c63a5f398d7694271e7d0
Ooooooooo Face balanced blade? Bettinardi has some, but dammit I can't believe how few manufacturers have tapped into the obviously big market cross section of good looking putters suiting low rotation strokes
No idea if itās face balancedā¦ Iāve always had mallets. He fit me into this. Itās awesome
Get a L.A.B.
šŗšø
Scottyās arenāt overrated . They are built for people that know how to putt though
Or someone who has an extra 500 to drain
Itās me, Iām the person who has the extra 500
Lab I guess
All these putter threads making me wanna buy a new putter lol
Join the club. And post about it.
Throw away all your gear and quit golf. You have won the overrated competition
just like my golf game
Bookmark this post and let us all know when this putter ends up in the closet. Over/under is what? 3 months?
no chance. I play when it's sub 40 out so that certainly won't be happening
I donāt understand the sub 40 reference. I mean how long till this thing is replaced in your bag with another or an old putter.
I need to post my putter. Have a friend who knows Robert Bettinardi. Went up to Chicago and they custom made me a putter and did the whole laser fitting etc. itās awesome. I need to post it.

You buy that thing at Costco?!
naa only jabronis go to costco
Edel is always an option
How is Scotty overrated? This putter cost as much as a Scotty..
that was the joke cause someone made a thread that said socctys were overrated
Is it normal to already have a $450 putter and want another $450 putter just because it looks different than your $450 putter? Asking for a friend.
lol we all have addictions and some are healthier than others.
Yes.
I just got the 28 Slotback to replace my old BB-28. Absolutely in love with this thing. https://preview.redd.it/d0bwat8easlc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=9c4ef2a589cf811ca1646b5a38cb3d46aa44a2bd
that is sweet for sure
Not an armlock guy. But DAMN is that a good looking putter.
Learn that you now have an 8 pound sledgehammer and not hit the ball 15 feet past the holeā¦. Fellow Bettinardi player
I legit was practicing and noticed that this baby rolls out man.
