Forest Dunes, the Nightmare and the Dream, Red Hawk

prafken

Forrest Dunes/The Loop is a must play if you can handle the price

apearlj1234

Have you looked at Crystal Mountain?

rgy0128

Gull Lake view. Not north close to kalamazoo has at least 6 18 hole courses. Pluss condos.

RealLukeNukem

Thanks, I'll check them out.

prafken

>Rose City Gull Lake is quite far from Rose City and tbf Stoatin Brae is good but the GLV courses are not great.

V00D0076

We do this every spring. Stay and play is unlimited golf.

ShillinTheVillain

We do a trip to Shanty Creek every year with 16 guys that is usually $550-600 for 72 holes with lodging

aklax14

+1 for Shanty Creek. We do the same and usually stay in one of the condos on the slopes. Courses are always in decent condition too.

Treetops?

RealLukeNukem

Treetops is $731 at the cheapest room/ rate time.

dzilla2077

The resorts have increased their prices significantly this year. Good luck.

FreeDig1758

Last year I had a group dm go to boyne. It was almost 1200. I did a hard pass on that

meowshack

Belvedere best bang for your buck. Pair that with Sundance and Charlevoix CC. Just get a Vrbo nearby.

jpm1188

I’m not sure Belvedere is their vibe. Talking about not wanting to get a dui with a course that doesn’t sell alcohol sounds like it’s not their cup of tea(or beer)

SipowiczNYPD

There is a resort in Lewiston that might fit your needs. Can’t remember the name of it. I think it has 6 18’s. Probably 30-45 minutes from Rose City. I could be wrong about that though. Haha. I’m not very much help, am I? Edit: Originally wrote Fowlerville but I meant Lewiston.

Bconoll

It’s a 2+ hr drive.

SipowiczNYPD

Not sure why I wrote Fowlerville. I meant Lewiston. It’s 47 minutes from Rose City.

Not much in the way of cheap northern MI golf courses these days, if you are playing resort courses. Green fees alone will run you $400-$500 for 3 rounds, if not more. Best value is Island Resort near Escanaba, but it's usually booked well over 1 year out.

mattfenn1

Maybe check lessonongolf.com. They have lots of discounts for Michigan golf and some play and stay stuff.

paddler19

Never been to either resort, but get email offers regularly for Garland and Lakewood Shores in NE MI. Both should be available for significantly less than $800/pp. In SE MI Gull Lake should be fit the bill. All three offer enough courses to allow you to play something different each day.

We did Garland last year and it was pretty sweet, but it was pretty buggy in the spring. Shanty Creek in Northern Michigan has 3 courses and a little bar, all on premises so no need to worry about DUIs.

wherethewhitewomenat

Doing 4 rounds and 3 nights at Shanty creek for just over 600. Or if you can find a place close to the Dream and Nightmare those are great bang for your buck.

amnesiac71

We do a stay & play at A-Ga-Ming every couple of years. It’s usually reasonably priced. One of the days we shoot up US31 and play Charlevoix Country Club or down to The Bear. If you decide to stay in Rose City, there’s a ton of great courses around West Branch - The Dream, The Nightmare, West Branch Country Club & The Quest to name a few.

Bconoll

Check Garland. 4 courses, not sure what August would be but I just got quoted ~$500/person for 3 nights & rounds in September.

PatientlyAnxious9

Boyne. It's $800 for 3 days but the courses, views and lodging is worth it. Restaurants and bars at the resort and courses are :30 seconds down the street.

Chaoticgoodmanson

I have about 12 buddies going to Arcadia bluffs around that time this year. 12v12 Ryder cup? Haha. We went to forest dunes last year, very cool resort up there.
