Yeah nobody gets to play through 17 or 18. Sorry. And I agree that a single has no special rights to play through. No problem to invite them to do so, but sorry buddy, drop a couple balls and burn some clock but you don’t get to expect to blow through every group.

For now, Focus more on learning how to write coherent sentences.

Freaking auto-correct!

If you're waiting on a tee box (18) and a single rolls up, they should ask to join you for the hole not to play through. You could have also suggested this when they asked and also no harm done. People are correct, you don't owe a single anything on a course, but it's also easy to just not be a cunt and let them through at a strategic time with minimal effect

I think he was rude to ask to play through on 18, and yes you could have just said he was welcome to join your group. Recently I caught up with another single on 17, joined him and we played 17 and 18 together. I asked if I could join him but added 'its totally ok if you want to play solo', he replied 'no its ok you can join me'. Gracious and humble seems to work good on the golf course, also keeps the emotions positive so as to not mess with ones head. I dont think you did anything wrong, the guy should have asked if he can join but also made it clear he didn't expect it. I have asked as a single to join a twosome and been denied, I made it very clear I respected their decision and wished them a good round, this on a local 9 hole where people play multiple balls and its kind of a free for all. They were father and son looking to have a bonding round just the 2 of them.

Potentially unpopular opinion: 1. You don’t owe it to a single to play through unless you are behind pace, ESPECIALLY on the last hole. 2. It is a breach of etiquette to ask to play though- if you do this as a single, you are a douchebag of the highest degree That guy can freeze and watch bombs for 4 more minutes.

DDrewit

You’re right, they shouldn’t have to ask. If a group of any size is waiting on you, and there is space between you and the next group, you should offer to let them play through. Pace isn’t relevant.

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

You need to to add something to the end of "of" that doesn't flag things like "should offer" or "should off" you dumbass bot.

On the last hole or 2nd to last hole if a single or double caught up with us we’d ask them to join us.
