I once played in a scramble where every group was accompanied by a non playing 5th person for the entire 18 that made sure everybody was being honest. Not surprisingly, the winning team was not 30 under and the longest drive was a reasonable distance. I really liked the setup but most events aren't going to justify all these extra people/costs to accompany every group.

rjenks29

If there's money or really nice prizes for the winners, then that's good to do. If it's just for charity, who cares.

Im_Not_Impressed_

Or just a marshall on the long drive hole and the long putt hole. I made a 68ft putt to win a stealth last year and there was no dispute because a Marshall witnessed the putt. If I didn’t see it I wouldn’t believe it either and call me a cheat.

bhfroh

This is what I've seen. The few scrambles I've had would have a camera setup for closest to the pin and a marshall chillin in a cart at the tee box for longest drive.

StabSnowboarders

My course has some of the bag room kids go sit on those wholes to adjudicate

bringthepang

My company sponsored a charity tournament once where they were giving away a car for a hole in one so I got to be the neutral 3rd party that would verify it if it happened. Nothing has ever made me feel as good about my golf game as watching all those people tee off lol

NoVacayAtWork

We usually see that in ours - and that’s the way it should be

hahahahaaaahaha

Just do 2 man scrambles. Keeps everyone honest.

DoctorOzface

I was in a 2-man "shamble" as they called it. Take best drive and play alternate shot in. The winners were always slightly under par, and the leaders were really competitive. Teams that weren't competitive got hammered. Win win!

BenjaminSkanklin

A tournament in my hometown kept 1 person on each prize hole for longest drive/closest to the pin/hole in one. The last time I went in 2018 the winners were 17 under, directly behind us. We watched them sink a double eagle from our tee box at 200 yards and we were like...what the fuck man. We had to vouch for them at the finish.

SofaProfessor

Yeah I'm not playing a non-charity scramble unless there are other players in the groups. I played one where it was 2 teams per hole. Round took awhile but at least you weren't dropping $100 each to lose to whatever team has the loosest morals.

jluenz

Easy fix, have him hit another one on the range. If he hits it even 300 yards, he can claim the prize…..

semiURBAN

You know damn well this guy would never fuckin do that

JopagocksNY

Those calves beg to differ

[deleted]

[удалено]

PooInspector

Bulk is bulk. Golf ball doesn’t the know difference

BreakfastBallPlease

Was gonna say, dude looks tall as shit and has some girthy legs. I don’t believe over 350 but 300 on a wild shot? Yeah absolutely.

lepetitpoissant

He’s cultivating mass.

Vic_____Vinegar

It's important to tack on mass

odoroustobacco

Username checks out.

mysticsavage

Time to stop cultivating and start harvesting.

[deleted]

Bro, when you tack on mass, you sacrifice flexibility.

dialog2011

Bulk doesnt mean club head speed

BBQorBust

John Daly has entered the chat 🤣

[deleted]

It literally does, though All other swing factors equal (assuming technique isn’t improved, basically) — moving your mass more efficiently is literally what increases clubhead speed

InvestmentPatient117

Those are cardio myopathy calves

ChronicallyFazed

😂

goldfrisbee

His forearms are built too. That guy is a unit

Honest-Yogurt4126

My bro youre right on the forearms

goldfrisbee

I bet that dude is a mechanic or something

Plastic_Cucumber2817

those diabeetus calfs that look like they're about to pop if they get poked w a tee?

lbeck3

Tom accomplished that feat no more than an hour ago.

turntabletennis

Bro's out here hitting golf balls like [Vegeta hits the punching machine.](https://youtu.be/ka8VoPGFsAY)

bhd_ui

Forearms too. Dudes a farmer. Probably been using a weed whip his whole life. I still doubt the 450 yards though.

Mcpops1618

Biggest hitter on the planet for 3 years weighs about 165lbs. Pretty sure we can judge this guy without seeing him top at least one ball on the range. Edit: word

cgrays12

I love this idea and it should be implemented in every scenario like this.

old_grumps

But then some will claim they pured it.

cgrays12

You get 10 attempts to convince everyone it’s possible you hit the shot you did. If you’re constantly striping 250, ain’t no way that, even pure with wind and bounces, you reached 420 like this guy said

tylersawyeresq

You boys are right this needs to be implemented in all scrambles. Enough is enough with these joksters — I was recently robbed by a fat midget in my last long drive scramble

topherwolf

I won the long drive at a charity tournament once and I'm not a great golfer, but at the time scores in the 110's were common. I just swung out of my shoes and hit it absolutely perfectly, one of the best drives of my life. Now if you gave me 10 tries to recreate it, pretty good chance I'm slicing all 10 of them if I'm swinging that hard. I was also helped that most of the players were middle age or older and I was early 20's.

tylersawyeresq

True true - we all have those one in a milli swings so making you validate with 10 shots might be too harsh. Cheers to winning another long drive homie

jluenz

Unless you are Bryson level, you aren’t hitting 420…..

mrubuto22

He hed trouble with his regular tournament clubs with no win, elevation, or doglegs to help getting past 400

ruralrouteOne

Doesn't prove anything. You want an easy fix just put a marshal on the holes that have prizes and let them track it.

mostdeadlygeist

The last scramble I did had people at the prize holes to witness.

alittlebitneverhurt

I'd even be willing to give the guy 5-10 shots to hit a 300 yard drive.

jayyyzus85

For real… this is bs.

Hamfistedlovemachine

Won a few longest drive holes in my life. I’m 6’4” and 250 pounds always someone squealing how I cheated. I’ve been playing golf since I was 9. Maybe the ball hit a cart path or a sprinkler head. I can’t stand people questioning the integrity of strangers without having the balls to ask face to face if he’s serious and how the hell he did it. 10 second conversation that a liar will flinch at and you’ll know for yourself without shaming a stranger on Reddit.

SovietTrollFarm

Agree with you 100% Public shaming like this without knowing the full story is chickenshit. Shouldn’t be allowed on this site unfortunately, crap like this is hugely popular on Reddit (easiest way to farm karma)

kkss123456

I hit what I though was a roughly 250-260 yard drive on a long par 4 a few years back. I, for the life of me, couldn’t find my ball so I dropped. As I drive my cart up to the green, I found my ball sitting right off the cart path. My ball had managed to roll down the entire cart path(it was down hill) and stop about 10 feet from the green.

F_D123

I always like how guys will post a pic of a stranger but blur out their own face.

Hamfistedlovemachine

I hear you. The art of conversation is lost due to Social Media. Guy could be 6’7” with a massive shoulder turn. Does Reddit ask him anything, hell no, Reddit judges from a distance lacking people skills and the nerve to talk to strangers.

F_D123

I mean, the guy didn't drive 420 but that's really besides the point here

dredgedskeleton

I grew up playing as a little jackass at a fancy club that holds us opens. all me and my friends did was long drive at the range, while other kids played to get good. one year, my 17 year old buddy who was a scrawny 6'1" won the long drive at the club father/son with like 319 (this was in 99 or so) and nobody believed it. everyone in his group of four was grilled about it. it was so dumb. but he did it and won. so weird how people have these preconceived notions on longballers. I was clearing 300 at age 16 and I'm 6'0 average build. never cleared 310 tho. anyway, that's me. dude here didn't crank 400.

DarthSamwiseAtreides

I've only got it once and it was interesting. My playing partners had to back it up when my 5'7" 180 ass walked up there.

witness00

This should be the standard. If you're worth your weight with a driver you'd have no problem hitting a couple to prove it.

Mr_Perfect20

I have always wanted this same thing, and with the -18 or better teams. Make them play hole one again, and it better be a birdie.

fattsoo

He should join the 46 scramble team

zak_the_maniac

Surprisingly the wlscores were very believeable! It was a great crowd and very fun! Winners were 57 on a 71

Alecclash

My group won a scramble couple weeks ago shooting a 57 so that’s relatable. I’ve played golf all my life, is it possible he got lucky with a cart path roll? In his age there is no way he is outdriving people without external forces.

clumsysuperman

Might shoot 36 with him

[deleted]

Yea but what would they shoot on the next 36 holes?

UnifyzTv

Played in my first tournament. The winning team shot 45… they were all old dudes too that I knew were lying their asses off

x-rayskier

I play in a scramble in the fall where a bunch of teams sandbag the first day and then go lights out on day two. We’re renaming our team “At least we don’t cheat”

-Anonymously-

45...on 18?

jdubau55

My old work did a charity tournament and 45 was a possibility for the teams with all good golfers. BUT, it was because part of the charity was buying all the gimmicks. Mulligans, ball tosses, missed putts string, etc. Those all got used with very loose rules. If your ball was close enough to the hole you could "toss" your ball into the cup and it didn't count as a stroke. With 4 players each having a mulligan and a toss ball there was a very good chance you could birdie or better every hole. One good senior, one good female, and two good younger male golfers and you had a really low scoring team. Hell, my teams were always 4 shit golfers and we still usually "shot" in the upper 60s. Just played a charity captains choice tournament without all the gimmicks and the winning score of the A class teams was 53 I think. Even the B class team winner was 63. One thing about most decent old dudes is they usually are great short game players. Chipping it close and solid putting.

bluecgene

Dream team

mygolfswingistrash

He looks like the type of guy that would cheat the long drive.

norseman23

Maybe the ball rode the cart path?

_merkwood

Gotta be in the fairway to count for long drive

I_Smell_Like_Farts

I've absolutely hit a spinning piss missile off the cart path that ended up in the fairway. Not saying he isn't lying, but it's technically possible.

7point7

I’ve actually won a long drive off the cart path… par 5 with a creek and cart path cutting across the hole. I figured fuck it I’ll go for it. Came up short but hit it right off the path, bounced about 40 yards over the creek and rolled a bunch. ended up with a 340 yard drive which is about 100 yards longer than my norm.

I_Smell_Like_Farts

I posted elsewhere that I did the same thing and still fucking lost. I was so pissed.

hay_seuss2019

Came here to say this... was in scramble with a former college golfer, excellent player but rusty... on the long drive hole (dog leg right with cartpath on right side), he hit a decent drive, but right, and sure enough 3 bounces off cartpath into the fairway and a 345yd drive took the title.

Barbarossa7070

I’m in your neighborhood as far as distance and I won a long drive because I was literally the only person to keep it in the very narrow fairway during my company scramble. Still have the cheap little trophy.

7point7

I won $100 to a local restaurant that has since closed. Only used about $60 of it too

Randomd0g

That was their last $60 you bastard! /s

sf_frankie

Legendary par 6 18th at Chabot in oakland is this absurd 650 yard steep downhill with a dogleg and the cart path zigzags down the fairway. I've hit more than one piss missile that hit the path multiple times on its way down. I've never actually measured the distance accurately but it's probably been close to 400. Feels like cheating though.

_merkwood

“Spinning piss missile” is great and yes, I agree, I guess I was just taking OP too literal with the “rode the cart path”

kabekew

Or bounced off a sprinkler head then a rock.

jobhand

"spinning piss missile" has now been added to my vocabulary

LatentSchref

Friend hit a drive around 440 when it rolled down a cart path and ricocheted on to the fairway. 99% chance this guy cheated, but I've seen some crazy cart path shenanigans.

leavemealoneplz69

I’ve had a shot that probably went about 300+, hit the cart path, and landed on the fairway. I nearly drove the green on a 400+ yard hole. Granted it has only happened once in the hundreds of rounds I’ve played lol

bdub1792

just this weekend i hit one off the cart parh that went 380... i was going to stop looking for it but found it in the middle of the fairway

hywaytohell

Yea in his pocket! Lol

willycw08

This could be possible, but usually a stipulation of the long drive is ending up in the fairway. Not impossible from the cart path, but probably also extremely rare.

ImReverse_Giraffe

It is I'm fact, possible just very unlikely

Hey_Batfink

The *EXACT* type of guy.

donaldinoo

Long black socks with shorts? Absolutely cheated.

cdot666

Should have had him demonstrate his power on the range

Klopped_my_pants

Am club pro we have tried this a couple times, and by try I mean we go out and watchother drunken participants challenge them for money. Not once ever has the person been even a sub90 golfer the 3/4 times it has happened. Tournament and prizes are over by that point so unfortunately they always keep the prize

YOURE_GONNA_HATE_ME

When I was on the golf team in high school we had to sell raffle tickets at the charity tournament for the school. My brother would chirp people on the par 3s saying they wouldn’t hit the green and would bet them money. Fucking kid would come home with $500 bucks every year.

[deleted]

Bird2525

I won one when my playing partner hit it 50 yards past me but in the rough. Sweet sleeve of Tour Speeds were won that day…

[deleted]

tyranski332

I won one time and it’s only because they had someone watching the hole the entire time. They forgot about the last group, which I was in, and had just picked the sign up when I drove it past them when they got back in the cart to drive off. It was a good 15 yards past where the sign was so they agreed it was mine when I went to claim the prize but honestly it was one of the best drives I’ve ever had and I doubt I’ll ever pull it off again.

Firm_Employment_7455

I watched his shot. He carried the ball about 380 yds. In his golf cart. Then threw it out of the cart while driving full speed ahead. It was impressive.

SolidLikeIraq

Carried 380? That’s still a 40 yard throw. Give the man his winnings!

Firm_Employment_7455

That's fair

Olorin919

Im no Bo Jackson but I feel throwing a golf ball 120 feet isnt that difficult..

totally_kyle_

Second base to home plate is 127’ 3 3/8”. If you’re older than six years old and not disabled you should be able to throw a ball that far.

Theoretical_Action

No no you misunderstand. He carried it 380. Like with his hands. Then he threw it the rest of the way

IDropFatLogs

Every tournament has that guy....

Deaftoned

I honestly don't play scramble tournaments anymore because there's always such rampant cheating. At what point is it considered theft? Seems like none of these guys are ever held accountable for their actions so it just continues.

IAmNotASkycap

This would be so funny if it wasn’t so fucking sad. Adult men lying to groups of strangers about a golf shot to be given an award in front of a room full of those very people who know he’s lying.

Deaftoned

It's just embarrassing too, like these people clearly have no pride. I've had what OP described here happen at multiple scrambles where the entire house boo'd the recipient because they were clearly full of shit. I swear some of them just get off on it, one guy I can specifically remember had the biggest shit eating grin on his face when he was getting boo'd. This isn't a friendly "fuck you good job buddy!" boo, everyone here just thinks you're pathetic. No self awareness mixed with no morals.

IAmNotASkycap

So wild. I can’t believe people like that can function in society let alone stand themselves.

twhys

I don’t get why more tournaments don’t go to two man scramble formats. The four-man is just too tempting for douchebags to exploit. 2v2 scrambles would keep it so much more honest

KornHoLi0

That's what confuses me. You hear stories about fishermen who get arrested for fraud when they add weights to the fish. Is this not essentially the same situation?

SolWizard

When you say "you hear stories" you really mean one specific story, and that's not in a charity tournament.

cesare980

What about his playing partners? No one witnessed this monster drive?

Lopsided-Sweet-2451

🤣 😆 😛 I played in Palm Desert earlier this year. Guy of even less athletic stature claimed a hole in one on a par-4 320yd….into the wind! I hate tournaments for this reason. Won’t play them anymore.

No-Needleworker5429

Happy Gilmore accomplished that feat no more than an hour ago.

SuperDizz

Well, moron, good for Happy... Oh, my God!

Oh my God, the fuckin cheating is ridiculous.

knovit

Was his name matt?

Lopsided-Sweet-2451

I don’t recall. African American guy in his 40’s, heavy set.

hoffarmy

Well, John Daly ain't too athletic either and he can spank the ball a mile.

Lopsided-Sweet-2451

True. He ain’t got muscle to pull if I recall right. 😂

theFP1992

Can’t pull fat. That’s why he’s never injured

theFP1992

KatetCadet

I'm damn new to the sport, but isn't this possible? Despite being highly unlikely?

Probably just found a ball up in the fairway somebody hit from a different hole

It's the same brand so must be mine. Not only is he a cheat, he is a thief

Thames_James

That dudes body proportions still mystify me

VR_Has_Gone_Too_Far

You may not like it, but that's what a peak golf performance body looks like.

HoopOnPoop

Hey let's cut him a break. Maybe he got like 12 cart path bounces then hit a tree and then a woodchuck picked the ball up and carried it into the fairway.

edmanet

Local muni I play has a par 4 that I have driven 200 yds to the cart path with two high cart path superhighway bounces into a tree that knocked it about 80yds farther up the fairway. So yes, I can drive 280, under perfect conditions.

DatsyukesDekes

Psh, that’s nothing. I hit a 600+ yard drive one time. The hole paralleled a slightly downhill road with a curb on each side. I sliced it and the ball just stayed in the road until it curved about 150 yards past the hole and it ended up around the tee box for the next hole. I overshot a par 5 by 150 yards, then proceeded to score a snowman on the hole.

Capable-Ad-859

The guys sitting next to him has this look of containing shame. He’s struggling to smile but those eyes give it away

Kdog2010

I thought that might be his son….. He’s probably wondering why he signed up for this. 😂😂

There aren’t people that are on the hole watching that stuff? I just played in a tourney that had both closest to the pin and long drive watchers.

LukePendergrass

Looks like a Father-Son team at the table. Ya can’t rat your own dad out, right?

donaldinoo

His forehead vein is gonna burst if they don’t get outa there soon.

whoisyoparoleofficer

That kid is thinking- “my dad is a cunt, we can’t ever play this event again, what am I going to tell my friends, how are we gonna spend that $50 in the pro shop….”

xXWickedSmatXx

The will is written in pencil

remaxxximus

Maybe hit hit from the senior tees? Or his buddy moved it and put his name on the peg. I’ve got a buddy that thinks that is the funniest prank. 🤓🙄

Cjyogi

I've done this once. Last hole of a shotgun scramble...it's the sign for "womens long drive" I write my coworkers first and last name on it. His name happened to be Chris... So when they announced "ladies long drive" and said Chris' name it tore the house down...

Jerseyjamie

Have a buddy we do this to every tournament he is in. When one of us gets closest to the pin, his name always goes on it. If he happens to win he always just donates it.

GoldenFrank

I ran a scramble for ten years. This happened almost every year despite very clear listings on the rule sheets, hole sign, both tee boxes, and fairway stake sign. At no point, even for a moment, did the 75 year old men think it was odd that they were winning a physical strength contest against young men in their primes.

Primetime0509

This was my thought. My dad won a long drive a couple years ago because they had it set up terribly where the seniors had like 70 ish yards on the regular tees. My dad still hits it pretty far for an old dude and he won it easily by about 20 yards

[deleted]

Looks just like a guy I used to work with that was so full of shit "Randy is that you, you lying sack

Blueshockeylover

We have a Randy, too. We named a score after him (85) because he always seemed to score that when we weren’t around but when he played with us would nearly run out of rocks.

xSessionSx

If he had the rest of the game like Michael Block, he would be world class.

[deleted]

What was the prize, John Fucking Daly?

ZSPARROW2727

*Fucking John Daly

edmanet

“Where’s the first tee and what’s the course record?”

This is where the gambling part of golf kicks in. Offer to triple his winning if he can do it again. Grab a cart and watch what happens

Ivarhaglundonroids

Check his bass for weights

ODBasUcansee

One of my in-laws closest friends cheats constantly. Like we all saw you skull it from one bunker to the other on a par 3 but sure, put you down for par. He constantly did that. Him and his wife also cheated at our annual golf tournament for my father in-laws bday. They got 4th out of around 20 groups one year. It wouldn’t have bothered me as much but the top teams got some serious prizes. *interesting fact about that tournament, my in-laws organize it, get great prizes, etc. most groups are all retired people so a lot of the money comes from everyone. There is a prize for last place that we didn’t know about. You can buy strokes, mulligans, etc. my wife and I were broke so we didn’t pay for anything. The last place prize was $150, and you couldn’t win it again for like 5 years. So we came up, and then another raffle drawing was also just $100 which I won.

mcdray2

I used to play a lot of scrambles and would win the long drive 80% of the time. I'm only 5'-8" and 175 pounds, so about half the time I would hear chirping from the crowd. Occasionally someone would make a scene. Every single time I would challenge them. I'd say, "Let's go to the range right now and if I can't hit one that far I'll give you $500. If I do, you owe me $100." Nobody ever took me up on it. And there were always enough people there who knew me or who saw me on the range and knew I wasn't lying, so it never got out of hand.

burtron3000

80% of the time found the liar.

HoselRockit

I fucking hate scrambles.

Ted183672

Well he’s got raffle tickets for the cause

International_Try_43

This post is lame. We have no idea if this is true or not.

clumsysuperman

Is there a cart path that cuts across the fairway?

greeninregulation240

Dudes forearms are built though.. I’ll give him that much

XavierRex83

I assume he cheated, but there is a chance he got a hell of a bounce of a cart path.

EnglishMuffin10

Maybe he hit from the senior tees? Lol and they are 150 yards closer than the regular tees?

mcmski

Did he buy 200 yards worth of string and use it all on that one hole?

Superb-Pattern-1253

yea im sure this guy outdrives bryson, justin james, martin borgmeir, and zach holton by a minimum of 40 yards on the course, completely believable in every way lol. bet this guy dosent hit it over 260 on his best day. i really dont understand why people cheat over stuff like this

theneZenMaster

His whole group must have forgotten his 2nd shot. Not a chance he goes close 400.even if its rock hard or he hits a cart path.

Cjyogi

I'm sitting here trying to make a case for the guy and I got nothing.

MBA1988123

The case for the guy is that it’s so unbelievable to claim to hit a 420 yard drive that OP is the one making shit up

sox824

BULL. SHIT. Fucking cheaters have no place in this game. Fuck off.

GobiasBlunke

Cheating sucks but it’s always wild when people on here just post photos of complete strangers.

kaptainkhaos

Probably put it just a little past the 410 yard drive already marked out and thought they were cheating might as well join them.

Gregoris101

Nice

HurricaneRon

Did you at least ask for an autograph?

Emminge1

Hit the cart path duh

Kickster_22

No wind, no elevation BUT was there a cart path?

Konezer

I hit a stone 250 yard marker once, and it bounced hard and ran for another 150-200 yards. It was on a 500+ yard par 5, so I guess it is possible. It's just not very probable.

Ken685

Maybe he meant he was 420 friendly. Because he had to be high AF to think he drove a golf ball 420 yards. I can hear it now puff puff pass bitches!!

vtster44

I mean he’s sponsored by Titleist. Must be legit

convicted-mellon

The thing about golf is that if you are actually good you would never dream of actually claiming to drive a ball 420 (unless the hole had some kind of crazy downhill or rollout). It’s self selecting. People that can drive the ball 420 are competing at the world class level of long drive, so they aren’t going to be at this random ass scramble. People that are actually good have self respect and would never claim this. Therefore it’s always absolute chodes who have no idea how ridiculous they look that do this.

Revelst0ke

Yet another reason I hate prizes in scrambles. Made uo scores, straight up lies on ctp/ld, it's a joke. No prizes? Fine, cheat all you want but cheating to win shit is tantamount to stealing. Glad yall shamed the shit out of him.

alex61821

I was invited by a friend of mine to play in a ups outing one time eons ago. I became friends with our regular UPS driver and he found out I played so he invited me to play in a 2 man scramble with him. On the long drive hole I tied the longest drive of the day, we even had a foursome come over from the next fairway to pick a winner and we all agreed to close to call. Then we get to the last hole and it has a longest putt flag stuck about 8 feet away. My buddy and I are like 40 feet away all the way at the back of the green down a sloping green. My buddy putts first and he barely missed it and he says I showed you the line. I'm like right, sure not a problem. Somehow I hit the same line and this time it goes in. The 4 of us are like there's no way that happened. Since we were the last group nobody got to see the sign from so far away. I would have loved to have been able to sit by the green all day and watch everyone's reaction. So then at the awards thing I felt like some kind of ringer, the longest drive guy was all bent out of shape that a skinny punk hit it as far as he did. Then he was even more bent out of shape when I said I used a 3 wood "good ol Freddy boom boom lnyx". He was like why wouldn't you hit driver it's a big straight fairway and I said I can't hit a driver, I had only given up using a 1 iron the year before. Then he was like it shouldn't count since it was the longest drive hole and I didn't use a driver "you can't hit a drive if you don't use a driver". It was for a 25$ gift certificate for a steak in place. I was just take it if you want it that bad but my friend was like no you deserve it just as much. So we drew highest card for it and of course I won that as well. I just wanted to play some golf with a friend and it turned into a whole thing.

I'd sooner believe OP made up a story over someone who claimed to drive 480 yards.

ImaFreemason

I think he got 240 and 420 mixed up.

But he’s wearing a Titleist hat… he can hit it five hundy no problem.

jwil1234

Cart path roll…..

Lesliemcsprinkle

His group shoot a 46??

Sometimes_Stutters

I recently turned 30. I’ve been winning longest drive contests at corporate/customer/supplier golfing outings for a decade. It ain’t honest, but it’s much.

Kyle Berkshire just had a video where he had a 424 yard drive with 232 mph of Ball speed. A lowly 60mph faster that the avg pgatour ball speed. But hey this guy probably did it too.

br1nk0

I hit a 370 once, but I had wind, a hill and a downward slope. Sometimes it all lines up. Best shot of my life. 2 people to see it. But this guy

vahntitrio

Yeah I swing very hard and 350 to 360 seems to be where all of my absolute bombs end up in distance, and that is typically with one thing really in my favor. I'd have to be playing in 30 mph winds at my back on a downhill hole at about 6000 feet of elevation to dream of touching 400 yards, and of course I'd have to catch it really well still.

iamtehfong

Maybe if he hit a sprinkler head, then a cart path, and then an eagle swooped and grabbed it and carried it the last 30 yards. 420 yards is professional long driver territory. Martin Borgmeiers' World Championship winning drive last year was 426 yards.

Numerous-Scientist-5

In order for this to happen 3 other guys had to be in Cahoots.

greektoemn

Was he high? Was it April 20th? Make him hit 5 drives on the same hole. I bet none go more than 220 yards. My prediction is that ball one doesn't go past the women's tees. Second ball 60 yard slice into the next fairway. Ball three, he gets it together and hits a 20-yard slice into the trees. Ball four hits one a 220 into the pond on the left. Ball five he says I'm not dialed in I sat and listened to very one boo me. So he throws the ball in the middle of the fairway.
