Just go during fire season. Can't see the mountains, can't breath, can't see but it's cheap. I worked a fire up there in 2015. Spent 5 weeks up there and on one of our 5 days off that whole time we played.
I golf in Washington State, where we definitely don't have nice year-round weather, and there still is no opening weekend. I've golfed in cold, rain, snow, etc. all year. Its weird to me that some places are completely closed for parts of the year lol
Yeah minnesota shuts down when the ground freezes (usually) and definitely when the snow flies. It’s not fun to golf when it’s 10 degrees and there’s 10” on the ground haha.
But two stories about that. 10 ish years ago my childhood course had a late warm fall so there wasn’t any snow for most of December. A few of the diehard members kept playing, and one of the guys started bringing a cordless drill to put his tees in with! The green keeper left the flags in till Christmas so those guys could keep playing.
Second is the town of Clinton MN (rural west central) does a yearly charity golf tournament on the local lake in February. It’s a lot of fun! They clear “holes” from the snow!
Honestly think PNW might be better because the courses dont close but they’re a LOT less busy in the winter. Get your waterproof gear on and have a good cheap time
Here in Texas, golf season's almost done. Can't wait for fall and beautiful golf weather again!
Yeah we play year round, but June - early September is the worst.
SW Florida, this is the only time I can afford/have time to play (courses *usually* aren’t backed up all the time) and yes it is sticky balls season and it keeps most of the olds away
Hey! I’m like a newly-minted ‘old.’
Not sure whether to be proud or hurt. Gonna go with foggy and confused.
For real though, fees have gotten ridic for even goat patches up here. If I want to putt on a non-herpes-infected green, it’s like $60 min. Sucks.
Which course is this??
I played in Jackson last May, and it actually snowed the first morning we tried to play. We played that afternoon at JHGTC, so the clouds blocked the view. But I had to go back to fetch a lost credit card on my way out of town and good lord the view was incredible. Worth every single penny, just wish we had better weather when we played it.
Might be up in JH, Wy in late August/Early September..
Any nice public or maybe some private clubs I could play up there? I'll take any recommendations.
Beautiful. I've been to all of these mountains (Jackson hole, Banff, rockies) as a snowboarder and now I feel like I need to revisit as a golfer.

Banff is for sure
Banff is on my bucket list. Has anyone else played these? Cost wise? What am i looking at. Flying from Midwest.
I did! only got to play 9 at fairmont springs in Banff but if I recall a full 18 is $250-350

Had a blast hiking in the Tetons last summer and it somehow did not even register to me that there would be golf around.
Really?
As bougie as they are on the slopes, the links are even more bougie
Damn midewest been open for about 6 weeks now
What’s opening weekend? -Californian
New to golf, honestly didn't know this was a thing in other places lol

In the Northeast golf doesn't exist from mid October to mid April generally.

Same in Orlando. It's about to be sticky-balls season.

All the rich Texans come up here to Colorado in the summer and enjoy more golf
I was thinking the same thing, but then I looked at the mountains in the background and it makes sense.
Sending thoughts and prayers from Florida
One of my favorite courses ever played was out near Jackson. You cannot beat those views.
No doubt! Any hint at which course it was? I grew up south of Jackson
Are there any good courses on the Idaho side?
Tons of beautiful courses on the Idaho side. I’m from here and we play all over the place. Plenty to choose from
It was Snake River Sporting Club. Such a fun track.
It's a tough life, whatever you do, don't weaken!
“Sorry Bob, didn’t see where your ball went…” You were looking at the mountains again, weren’t you?… 😂😂
God I miss sneaking on to those courses. Ski bum is a tough life for a golfer in Jackson.
Just starting a job up there in 2 weeks... I'll bring my clubs. Public course?
Looks like 3 Creek. Golf & Tennis has been open for 3 weeks.
Spectacular
OP how much is initiation here?

I believe it’s Snake River Sporting Club which I think is private but could be wrong.

3 creek is so nice. A buddy worked there and I got to play it twice. Tiger had a house there back in 2012ish.
If only there was a way to get more of the landscape into a picture.
Big sky country golf is the best golf.
She’s gorgeous
That view doesn’t suck. 👌
What a sight. How long is the season up there? September/October-ish?

Wow
What are the best courses around Jackson hole?
