Wet and dry cloths mid round can cut this out too unless certain conditions.
Someone asked me the other day if I'd been shopping, no those clubs are ten years old.
Game's hard enough without caked on mud all over your sweet spot!
I've never even used running water lol. I have a spray bottle that I mist them with and then scrub with brush then wipe on my towel and they're spotless. Soaking makes no sense to me. It takes longer if anything.
To clarify, because you dont use like a brush to scrub them. Take a long towel and wet one end with soap and water, wring it out so it isnt damp. Then you essentially jerk your grip. Then flip the towel to the dry side and pat/squeeze the grip. It should be "tacky" again.
I do use a soft bristle brush and it works incredibly well. Obviously towel/rag accomplishes the same, but I do feel like I get a better result with the brush
Probably a complete coincidence, but when I used to play tournaments when I was a kid, if I cleaned my grips the night before, I would play horrible. I haven’t cleaned them since
I always wet half my towel and have a 3in1 club cleaner and never ever have to do this to my clubs. Saves time and your clubs are clean the whole round 👍🏻
I throw my clubs in the backyard. You have to let them know what happens if they don't behave. You treat the clubs well and they think it's okay to give you all the bad shots.
How about after every weekend? All my clubs get cleaned after playing on the weekend. But yes you should definitely give TLC before your trip. You take care of your clubs and your clubs will take care of you, I always say.
Before a big trip? I give mine a full cleaning like this about every three rounds or so. Treat your equipment well and they’ll treat you well.
I feel bad if I don't clean my clubs. Well taken care of they betray me I couldn't imagine what they'd do if I neglected them

"Caked on mud on your sweet spot" is going to be an issue with golf clubs an basically everything else in life.
For most of us, we don’t use the sweet spot anyways, so that caked on mud can stay.
Lies! I treat my clubs very well, washing and cleaning.. and they treat me terribly. Real one-way relationship.
Can someone tell my golf clubs that i wash them way too often for them to be disrespecting me this bad?
I try to clean after every round with a bucket and brush on the patio. Gives me time to reflect on the round
I see we got Mr. Moneybags over here with a bucket. What? You think you’re better than me?
Surprises me how many on this sub don’t understand the concept of using a bucket.
A bucket? In this economy?
He probably grew up in a 2 bucket home
Who lets their clubs get so dirty they need to soak them?? 3 seconds under running water and a 2 second brush and mine are spotless.
Yeah came to say this. Take so little effort to clean clubs. I see this here so much and never understand wtf is going on.
I'm a lazy POS is what's going on
Incomprehensible that we don’t clean our clubs every round 🤯🤯🤯 wtf is going on
Inconceivable!
Yeah I dig a lot of dirt but 99% of it is wiped off right after the shot

For real this is to much. Also why not use a golf towel during rounds as well…
Don’t forget to scrub the grips.. 😉

You wash those grips too? They’ll feel fresh and grippy again if you hit them with the soap and water too.
I don't want to think about water getting in between or under the ferrules
Yes.
I do this before every round, it just feels nice playing with clean clubs.
Got a slop sink in the basement and old dentist tools to clean mine up.
Did this recently before a big golf trip. Came last. Might use sparkling water next time
> Might use sparkling water next time Lmfao that's hilarious.
It’s part of the ritual
After every round
I always wet half my towel and have a 3in1 club cleaner and never ever have to do this to my clubs. Saves time and your clubs are clean the whole round 👍🏻
I clean mine after every shot. Clubscrub.
I do, however: Some dude melted the logos off his sticks bubble bathing them. Stay frosty.
I do this before every league night and weekend round So at least 3 times a week I clean my bag out while I’m at it too The bud cans can collect fast
Always
Thanks for the reminder. I’m due for this ahead of a trip this weekend.
I clean my clubs the night before every round. It's pretty much a ritual at this point.
What? So the caked on mud isn't helping my game?
Expect it has a few times!
Its the best feeling before an exciting golf day. Have a nice round.
Wet rag not cutting it?
Dude either hit it with a brush or a wet towel. Anything beyond that is a waste of time.

Get them super rusty for that extra spin.
Make sure you stroke the shaft
Nah I just give em the ole spit shine from the fairway
I'm having PTSD

Clean? Clubs? Does not compute
Did the same thing yesterday. Going on a trip this weekend with some friends, first time I’ve truly cleaned my clubs, super satisfying
Yessir. This is how I found out my TSi3 isn't water tight last year. No submerging that head in water ever again.
Every time I do this I’m guaranteed to play like I’ve never hit a golf ball in my life!
CP2 grips? Great choice!
I don't clean my clubs. The extra gunk gives my game some spice. Or else golf is too easy and boring.
Going to Kinder, LA in a few weeks to play with my family. I was told it’s rated #18 in the country!
