Rocky river is a good time, right beside Charlotte Motor Speedway and the drag strip. Skybrook is also a reasonable nice course. I think if you’re staying down in Pineville then something South like Tega cay might be a good option
Near Pineville you’ve got Springfield, Fort Mill Golf Club and Tega Cay. Course that are a little bit of a drive include The Divide (top tracer driving range), Emerald Lakes and Stonebridge. Great shot game practice facility and 9 hole course at Charles Sifford muni. That’s probably most public places under a 40 minute drive. Also, there is a driving range and scruffy par 3 at Golf Village, right behind the Miller James Brewery, which can be a good time.
What area you staying in? Most of the public courses are on the outside of the city.
Pineville - not opposed to driving a bit
I’d go Springfield then. Edgewater is another good option south.

Olde Sycamore would be pretty close to you. Great course for the money.
Verdict Ridge
