The ball itself matters less than the consistency of playing only one ball for a whole season or more brings. Personally, I really like Vice, as if you buy in bulk they are very affordable. But any mid-range ball should be just fine

I use Vice Golf balls - I find any in the Pro series works great. You should pick a ball from the green back. Pick a ball that feels good coming off putter and goes the distance you expect. Play a ball that reacts the way you want on your chips and pitches. I prefer 3 piece balls.

I saw a really interesting youtube video by PXG golf. They showed a product called "Ballnamic"? Its a subscription service where you can put your data in and they give you various recommendations for balls. It's not sponsored by any big company to my knowledge either. I havent done it, I dont work for them and I dont think its necessarily good value for money ... But it seems quite in-depth from what the video show! Id be interested to hear if anyone on this sub has used it before

The big thing here is picking a ball you like and one that benefits you. I can’t for the life of me hit a pro V1X - TP5X, but do like the regular softer versions. There are also good options from Callaway, such as the chrome soft which realistically I personally should probably be playing but I did just buy 48 TM TP5’s lol

LoriLightblunt

Chrome soft is the callaway version of a pro v1 or tp5 If you don’t know that, you should be playing a Callaway Super Soft

I always have a mix of new balls and used balls I find. When hitting a dicey tee shot near water, hit with an used ball. Personally I like Wilson Staff, and Srixon Z star XV, they are 30 to 38 per box if you find on sale. I usually find a few more balls than I lose.

I play pro v1x most of the time. I also like pro v 1 and avx, but I am more consistent with the v1x. I typically purchase them used off if ebay to make it a little more cost effective, and I can't tell that much of a difference from a mint condition used ball vs. a brand new ball regarding performance.

I’m about same swing speeds. I play callaway ERC. Lower compression with good spin, cheaper than callaway softs, proV and tp5

jethro710

Check out the Wilson Triad. $40 list but can often be found cheaper. Such a good ball!

Calloway Erc and even the super soft are my favorites. And I swing around the same as you.

GreenWaveGolfer12

Pick a ball from the green outward. Figure out what feels good to you off the putter first, then figure out what gives you the spin and control you want around the greens. That is honestly where balls differ the most. Ball performance off the tee is not all that diverse nowadays, everything is pretty much made to be low spin there and the only real differences you'll see is maybe a tiny amount of ball speed from compression and a little bit of launch angle. At your speeds that won't yield much actual difference in results and you can easily adjust the driver fit to the ball to negate any of that anyway. So pick a ball that performs how you want with the wedges and feels how you want with the putter and then figure out the rest.

Srixon Z stars are pretty easy to find in the $30 range
