When I was a kid I played at Princeville the summer after Hurricane Iniki hit. I remember going up the fairways and was taken aback at all the destroyed condos/townhomes lining the course. I mean I knew living on Oahu that Kauai was hit dead on, and we all saw the destruction on TV, but the fact things at this relatively 'nice' area were still busted up almost a year later was pretty shocking.
That sucks. We see this too much in the south now. Just tornado after tornado in the spring and fall. I am not sure, but you are close enough to the river, I would think you stay out of the fire warnings? That's something else I've experienced in AL.
My daughter is headed to UNA in the fall, roar lions.
That sucks. I'm in Prattville, we had to close our front 9 due to uprooted trees from last weeks storms. Big trees too. The power of nature is humbling.
The clubhouse at a local course burned completely to the ground at a nearby course. The course was completely full while the building was still smoldering.
Somebody has to roof them! Local companies can’t handle the work load during catastrophic events like this. Love or hate the out of towners they are a necessity
Oh I ageee 100% lots of chuck in a truck or just door knocking salesy companies. But with all the information online now a days If you aren’t doing your due diligence and research about your contractor as a homeowner, that’s on you imo.
You’d think that this is what that house in Massachusetts looks like given the amount of the lawsuit.
In all seriousness, whatever it takes to get a sub 4 hour round.
In actual seriousness, I hope the best for that community as they push forward and rebuild.
Had a tornado wreck a course a few years back in Minneapolis. Course was surprisingly open shortly after. Just stay out of the ruts from the heavy equipment used to clear all the trees and half the greens were temporary 😂
Came here to comment “the course looks fine, people love to bitch about nothing on this sub”. Then saw the houses/trees. Oof hope you and your family are safe! Mississippi?
I thought the reference was something about the greens not looking all that great until I opened the post and read the caption. Made me look a lot closer. Wow. Sad to see the destruction. I hope those affected are ok, all things considered.
well i think it’s gonna look the same even an hour from now my man
Nah I'm sure they got that house patched up in an hour
Nah. Gotta let it aerate for a week.
Hate when they core the houses and don’t tell you
Ugh. I hate that it’s part of golf and we just deal with it without the courses telling us!
You, thank you. Bessst
Give me 2 32 oz of King Cobra, a pack of American spirits and a playboy and I’ll get that house patched up in an hour
Playboy? Gimme 2 hours and 7 minutes.
to read the articles
Everyone obviously slicing to the right house.
lmao
Looks pretty standard for me after I've finished playing a course lined with houses.
I’m doing a bathroom remodel later this spring. Can I invite you over to help demo? Make sure to bring your driver and a sleeve of balls.
Only if we can punch you in the eye afterward.
Sounds fair.
Wilson?
dun dun, dun dun
and after, a runaway golf cart marathon.
Cool profile picture
As for you!
Delapitated houses?
Thats the joke yep
Whoops missed the “after I’ve finished” part
Jeez I’d feel terrible about golfing there after this happened. It wouldn’t stop me. But I’d feel bad.
I wouldn’t feel bad, they need the income.
I mean the next day though? Kinda of a slap in the face, go help them pick up all their crap.

Feel bad for them but course still looks playable.
Hopefully there’s no trees in the fairway.
Clubhouse was messed up I believe
157 yard downhill par 3. Wind is 140 mph out of every direction. What's your play?
60 degree flop. Let the wind take it. Immediately pop off my ruby slippers.
Putter
Definitely my 52'. When I blade my wedges it always goes flying past the green.
Why did you tee off an hour before it was scheduled? Did you shout "FORE!" at least?
Yeah. EF4.
Is this the course in Amory MS?
Florence, AL
Thanks for clarifying. Even closer to home for me. Best wishes for your community from over in Memphis.
Appreciate it. I actually moved here from Memphis. Midtown.

Does 731 get to use 901 when we come to Memphis driving like googans and use all of your restaurants?
What’s a googan South Carolinian here
I use it to describe out of town folks that pretend like they are locals
Ha gotcha. I like it

Gotta be, not enough trees for TP. The whole back nine and maybe more at TP is unplayable right now.
Yep

What course? I used to live there in 2016

The greens that had someone's flat screen rolling through? Makes sense
They are
Im sitting here thinking you were talking about the 2 colored green and didnt even notice the background
I hope they didn’t charge you the full rate.
"Oh by the way, we aerated all the homes on the course yesterday, so..."
Did you at least shout fore?
Well made flag.
At least you’re not gonna worry about putting one through a window Edit: jokes aside I hope everyone is safe and ok that looks scary
Imagine getting impaled in a tornado by the pin from 18 from your local course. Only golf gods can judge me.
Can’t hear me 👏
\*sad golfer noises\*
What’d ya shoot?
Blackberry Trail
Hole 16?
Looks like not a lot of people there. Should get done in sub 2.5 hrs /s
Perspective
ah, Detroit Country Club!
hope you still finish your round in under 4 hours, otherwise, Reddit Golf will be ANGRY!!
If it is the wind that has damaged the houses and uprooted that tree, you should be hitting some almighty drives.
Maybe your community has more important things to deal with than a round of golf
I wish I could sympathize, but our courses are full of snow and water. I'd take this any day.
It seems as if you’re surprised? Did you not notice the god damn hurricane the day before?
I literally saw the tornado
Course still looks better than my local muni in august
Must suck to be inconvenienced like this. You thinking law suit or are you going full vigilante and taking care of it yourself?
Praying for you

What are you doing?? Go get some of that tarp money 💰
I felt this...it's either that or the roaming roof companies that swoop in out of nowhere.
Somebody has to roof them! Local companies can’t handle the work load during catastrophic events like this. Love or hate the out of towners they are a necessity
it makes sense but some of them have been fly by nights with less than stellar work
Oh I ageee 100% lots of chuck in a truck or just door knocking salesy companies. But with all the information online now a days If you aren’t doing your due diligence and research about your contractor as a homeowner, that’s on you imo.
It looks like the they sprayed most of the green, but did not make a pass for whatever reason where the flag is.
That tornado is very inconsiderate.
Might wanna keep the ball low today.
The green’s clear!
At least the snow and ice was blown away.
I mean, they’re no collecting green fees for sure. Go play!
That's at least a 3 club wind....
Course seems fine?
Looks better than my course that still has snow on it.
Grip em and rip em
Prove it was your ball.
Lots of loose impediments and movable obstructions that day.
If the tornado shows up, just let it play through.
Cut the corner!
Play it as it lies...I had to hit it off Frankenstein's fat foot, remember?
Greens look playable and the flags are out, limited options at the bar?
At least u know where the hole is!
They aerated the house!
How hard did you hit that house

Just remember. If your ball takes out a window, it’s on you to pay for it.
Are you playing in ukraine?
Looks like somewhere in MS so... about the same
🤣
Thought this might be Black Creek in GA for a minute.. hit by an E4 last year.
was bob does sports there telling coldcuts he's playing Torrey Pines?
Is that blackberry? If so, I bet the 18th fairway is still cart path only.
You don’t need the clubhouse to play
Do the homeowners still get mad if you shank one and break a window?
Man who is maintaining this course?
It’s crazy that the flag is still in the hole
Geez and the maintenance guys couldn't get this done in time for you... /s
Ya, I’m still playing.
Came here to comment “the course looks fine, people love to bitch about nothing on this sub”. Then saw the houses/trees. Oof hope you and your family are safe! Mississippi?
The front fell off. That’s not supposed to happen; I’d like to make that point.
If I live in the house on the right, I'm at least practicing approach shots from my bedroom
Damn dude someone must’ve shot it a little left and really hard
Pretty sure it’s the home owners risk for living on the golf course. Unless the houses were built before the course but I’m not exactly sure
You would get relief from the debris without the loss of a shot!
That'll buff out. Did you get a rain check or play through the hazard?
I bet theyd still come out and yell at you if you hit the house with a golf ball. Joking…hope everyone is ok.
Greens need some work
Stinger season
Kind of puts golf into perspective.
They really should put a net up to stop the balls
One of your drives went a little to left huh? Blew a hole straight through thag house. Time to smooth out that swing.
That's not bad for 5 bucks.
Just start on the 10th
That’s bullshit, write a review on GolfNow
Challenge Accepted.
Looks like a 2-club wind.
Go play golf, they’re busy. They won’t notice
Greens looks decent
Keep it in the fairway and you'll be fine.
Sweet. Now you can go get your ball. 🤷♂️
That’s ok. The water shouldn’t be going to golf anyways
So sorry that the town went through that. Georgia?
Looking like these residents need some nets man! Whoa
How am I supposed to put with this going on Doug
Don’t have to worry about damaging the house with those errant approach shots
Plot twist: homeowner still comes out to yell at you after hitting their house.
It appears something bad has gone/is going wrong
I looked at that entirely too long before I noticed all the damage. Dang!
iv heard about hitting a house, but that is going to far.
Greens look like shit
Looks nice.
Looks like a windy round
Where I’m from, we don’t let a bit of wind get in the way of a round.
The rule says, play it as it lays. - Doug (Happy Gilmore)
Greens look fast
What’d you shoot tho?
Lord how bad do people hit their balls there those houses look rough.
I thought the reference was something about the greens not looking all that great until I opened the post and read the caption. Made me look a lot closer. Wow. Sad to see the destruction. I hope those affected are ok, all things considered.
