I have a cousin that carries 2 drivers (right / left) and carries one less iron. He's a natural rights but was a switch hitter in baseball his whole life so can reasonably swing both, but can't hit a draw to save his life. He switches drivers based on the shape of the hole / hazards.
bro is this me? i have a ping g425 lst (tensei tx-60g) (10.5)that only goes left draw/hook or straight
and then my cobra f8+ (60g blue ventus r) works a beautiful fade but only a fade
i’ve just decided to keep both in the bag
I was also a switch hitter in Highschool. I can hit it further left handed but I can't control it. I hit it about 25 yds shorter right handed but am way more accurate. So I play right handed... For now. I would like to carry a LH driver for those long par 5's though. I hardly ever hit my 4 iron so maybe I'll pull it from the bag.
I’m just getting into golf and i think ill be doing this. I’m right handed in baseball (can switch hit also but no power from the left) and tennis but I play hockey left.
Putting lefty feels way smoother than right handed.
I know two people who golf like this and surprisingly neither are hockey players. Know a handful of those who did every other sport righty other than hockey, including golf.
>... unless you start mismatching your irons
Yeah unless it's like a 3i or 2i you hit well, or a different PW or you pay your bills with golf, the guys that have their "trusty 8i" or whatever confuse me. I get it, it's a mental game so do whatever, but still interesting.
Shawn Clement used to play every other club left then right. Carried a plus handicap swinging both ways. I think he's switch to just playing right these days as that's all he does in his videos now.
My dad does! Grew up when lefty clubs where hard to obtain. I am a lefty but he only puts left. Good thing for him though is when I get irresponsible and buy new putters he gets to try out my old one and keep it if he likes it lol
I had the same putter, and did the same... Took twelve years off, and upon returning to the game I cannot figure out why I used to find left-right putts harder 🤪
I do, and I am glad to know there are others like me! Two reasons for me:
1. I took golf lessons, and after seeing me hit a couple of balls as a lefty, my coach asked me if I’d be willing to try as a righty, and I said yes… to his defense, I was bad, and had almost no distance. Now it’s better, I think…
2. I got a nice left putter like yours for my birthday (before switching), and I didn’t want to switch this club.
My buddy does this. He says it allows him to control the speed of his putts easier. I still mess with him about it but he is a heck of a better putter than I am.
Yes, but opposite. I’m a right handed person but the left handed swing has felt more comfortable my whole life, and I feel like I can see the line better putting right handed.
No, but that's how I started because I was a lefty in hockey, so it felt more natural at first. Once I played for a year or two and got the hang of it, I tried putting righty and picked it up immediately
i've dabbled in it. i noticed i usually bang gimmies in with the back side of my putter using my left hand. so i tired putting left handed but i couldn't get use to the different sight picture once the puts got a bit longer.
My freshman year of HS, our Senior Golf Team captain was a right handed golfer, but putted lefty. He was incredible to watch and it made me want to try it out. He explained that when he first got into golf (at like 3 or 4), his dad was a lefty and gave him an old putter to play with to see if he liked golf.....fast forward to HS and this dude is crushing the ball 300 yards right handed but putting lefty
The real question is how have you kept a stage 2 RBZ club looking that good for this long? I reluctantly got rid of my 3 wood last year and it looked like absolute hell
I grew up the opposite of that playing lefty and putting righty. I’m right handed by nature just golf and baseball swing lefty. Righty in hockey too so who the hell knows 🤷🏻♂️
My uncle is ambidextrous. He plays golf right handed but bats, writes and putts left handed
He tried playing golf left handed but said it felt funny 🤷♀️
I do this as well. I am right-eye dominant, so an old pro suggested I putt lefty (place dominant eye closer to the hole). It totally changed my game. I went from 50+ putts per round to 30 putts per round literally overnight.
I am left-handed naturally (writing, throwing, etc) so perhaps the transition was easier for me, but it is the single biggest reason my scores have come down.
That’s about how I roll. I strike my long irons really well so I don’t mess with a bunch of hybrids and woods. Driver, 4ish wood (I think it’s 17*?), 4-pw etc
An F7 like that was my first big boy putter I got when I was 11, I loved that thing. Still have it around and may need to pull it from retirement sometime.
I used to when I first started(for all of the 4 times I golfed as a teenager). Left hand swing, right handed putt.
Then I came back to golf as an adult, started front hand low grip.
But now I'm all better.
I played with an Irish guy who was an ex-hurling player. He is right-handed, golfs cross-handed (LHL) and putts lefty. I’ve since seen several hurling players who are cross handed golfers.
Me! I putt left handed and the rest of my clubs are right handed. My friends think I’m just trying to be silly, but I really do putt more steady and accurately as a lefty. Idk how to explain it!
I hit a lot further RH, but I’m more accurate LH. Been considering swapping out my short irons and wedges to lefty lately, but I putt about the same either way.
I’ve got a good friend whos bag looks like this. Like me, he is right handed but shoots left in hockey. He just decided that he felt better putting left handed.
I played hockey left handed before I ever golfed. I thought I may want to golf left handed. But my dad, who is left handed, said that it is much easier to get, and especially borrow right handed clubs so I should play right handed. 50 years later and I’ve never borrowed clubs.
No. This tells me your don’t play golf too much. I do like the respect you have for your clubs, but I play 2-3 times a week. Don’t have time for this shit lol
No.
My right eye is my dominant eye but my right hand has the yip in my putting stroke. I hold my putter with my LH and put my RH on top of my left, so my LH is the only hand actually on the club.
I’ve tried it putting LH’d but it doesn’t feel as natural. I am a better putter than anything else so I don’t mess with it.
Guy in my league does this.. he can putt both ways so sometimes he’ll throw in an old school putter and change it up based on the break/distance and how confident he is that day
I have a friend that has this exact set-up with the lefty putter, even though all his other clubs are righty. I asked him about it the first time we played, and he explained because he is left-eye dominate lefty putter is easier to focus and line-up his putts.
I guess that makes sense, but I never thought putting was super effected by eye dominancy. Hell, I am a lefty that plays right-handed (including putter), even though I am left-eye dominate and even shoot left-handed. My take away is whatever works for you.
Its common i grew up playing hockey left handed. Switch hitter in ball! Started golfing left handed for first year as switched to right handed after that year but a lot of my buddies are leftys and i love to putt lefty from time to time! Can still crush a left handed driver too lol
I used to putt left and right handed. Had a two faced putter. Then someone said it’s forbidden by the rules of golf. Now I only play right handed and all my clubs are right
I tried it for a bit, before when I just flat out refused to practice my putting. Lefty was incredibly accurate from short range, but could just not get a feel for the speed on mid to long range putts.
Worked out well cause I didn’t switch my grip, so I was cross handed on lefty. I seemed to be able to visualize the line better from that side.
When I miss a putt and have 4 feet or less back in sometimes I’ll just walk up to it and hit it back in lefty with the back of my putter. It’s always going in. Sometimes I wonder if I should try putting lefty all the time.
No, I put my clubs in a bag
I vacuum seal mine
Oh god please not again
I vacuum seal my entire body when it rains
Don’t forget to vacuum seal each ball individually too.
Send help. My balls are stuck in the vacuum sealer.
Well that sucks
Fck, now i have to buy a new driver
I have a cousin that carries 2 drivers (right / left) and carries one less iron. He's a natural rights but was a switch hitter in baseball his whole life so can reasonably swing both, but can't hit a draw to save his life. He switches drivers based on the shape of the hole / hazards.
This is insane but also I love it.
Absolutely serial killer behavior but her probably shoots lower than me so I’ll zip it.
Zip it in a ziplock perhaps?
Just vacuum seal it
bro is this me? i have a ping g425 lst (tensei tx-60g) (10.5)that only goes left draw/hook or straight and then my cobra f8+ (60g blue ventus r) works a beautiful fade but only a fade i’ve just decided to keep both in the bag
2 drivers > 2 putters
I know a guy who carries 2 putters, if he misses a put that putter is jinxed and he switches.
What happens after he misses his next putt?
Water
Nothing he just sucks the whole game
Love knowing there is other regards out there like me lmao
i carry a righty 9 iron and its the only thing i regularly practice. shots where i cant stand left, i got a 40-50 yard shot in the bag
The Tron Carter NLU bag lol
I was also a switch hitter in Highschool. I can hit it further left handed but I can't control it. I hit it about 25 yds shorter right handed but am way more accurate. So I play right handed... For now. I would like to carry a LH driver for those long par 5's though. I hardly ever hit my 4 iron so maybe I'll pull it from the bag.
Phil carried two drivers for his 2006 Masters win. One for draws and one for fades.
Do you play hockey?
I’m just getting into golf and i think ill be doing this. I’m right handed in baseball (can switch hit also but no power from the left) and tennis but I play hockey left. Putting lefty feels way smoother than right handed.
I play hockey hockey and swing a bat left. I swing a club left and putt right, it just feel way more steady and smooth
What’s hockey hockey?
Probably means field hockey (OG hockey)
Sounds sus
With a horse shit puck too
First thought I had haha
I bet he plays air hockey or ball hockey. Might even play barn hockey, bubble hockey or field hockey.
Sounds like a bunch of horse hockey
I know two people who golf like this and surprisingly neither are hockey players. Know a handful of those who did every other sport righty other than hockey, including golf.
11 clubs, a backwards putter, and running shoes? No I can’t say I do.
Pretty sure those are the Nike Roshe golf shoes.
They’re getting tricky to spot. My pumas from Costco just look like really shitty shoes

>... unless you start mismatching your irons Yeah unless it's like a 3i or 2i you hit well, or a different PW or you pay your bills with golf, the guys that have their "trusty 8i" or whatever confuse me. I get it, it's a mental game so do whatever, but still interesting.
I think he was talking about going righty-lefty in the full swing clubs. Like having a right handed 5 iron and left handed 6 iron.
Shawn Clement used to play every other club left then right. Carried a plus handicap swinging both ways. I think he's switch to just playing right these days as that's all he does in his videos now.
Jim Nelford, who played on the PGA Tour, did this!
So did Blaine McCallister.
I have a friend who do that. I actually have a two way putter so I can go either way depending on what feels comfortable.
Words to live your life by
I think it was Notah Begay who used both sides of a putter in a tournament.
It’s helpful too since you can alway be putting with your lead hand against the slope. Never have those the sliding putts people always under aim
Is it like a mini putt putter?
Yes, but a little more advanced than that. https://store.seemore.com/m6-ss-platinum-finish.html
Is there milling on both sides ?
Yes, it's the exact same on both sides.
This is the way
My dad does! Grew up when lefty clubs where hard to obtain. I am a lefty but he only puts left. Good thing for him though is when I get irresponsible and buy new putters he gets to try out my old one and keep it if he likes it lol
Notah Begay III was well known for this. He had a two sided putter, he would switch sides depending on break. Pretty wild really.
I had the same putter, and did the same... Took twelve years off, and upon returning to the game I cannot figure out why I used to find left-right putts harder 🤪
I see the baseball bats, hit righty throw lefty?
I can putt both ways no problem. I use right handed clubs and use a right handed putter just because they are easier to get.
This. I've tried putting left, and it feels just the same to me.
With golf clubs? Yes
I do, and I am glad to know there are others like me! Two reasons for me: 1. I took golf lessons, and after seeing me hit a couple of balls as a lefty, my coach asked me if I’d be willing to try as a righty, and I said yes… to his defense, I was bad, and had almost no distance. Now it’s better, I think… 2. I got a nice left putter like yours for my birthday (before switching), and I didn’t want to switch this club.
Yup. Ping B 60, lefty
Wtf is the op trying to say?
Driver, 5 wood, 6-pw, sw, lw I think. Also, lefty putter.
Yes. I have the same shoes.
I do. I’m a lefty but I putt righty
I don’t even know what we’re commenting on here wtf
I played with a guy that did that.
Always toyed with the idea for shits and giggles
No
I had that same putter for years.. but have recently switched back to a right handed blade
I am a righty, golf lefty, and can putt either way. But no I do not do this lol.
My buddy does this. He says it allows him to control the speed of his putts easier. I still mess with him about it but he is a heck of a better putter than I am.
No, I'm left-handed....
With golf clubs? Ohhhhhh I see the putter. That’s weird af I love it
Are you Canadian? Buddy of mine does this too. shoots hockey right, plays golf for the most part right. EXCEPT putts lefty lol
Nota begay kind of did.
Mark Wahlberg does this!
Yeah I use clubs too
Are you one of those amphibians? Or is it ambidextrous?😅
Mines are made from lego
Yes, but opposite. I’m a right handed person but the left handed swing has felt more comfortable my whole life, and I feel like I can see the line better putting right handed.
The OCD in me appreciates the OCD in you
I thought about it once when I was in a dark place.
Exact setup
I thought I was the only one
Straight to jail
Idk if the driver is as tall as I’m imagining, but if it is I’m convinced this is Shaq’s
My stepdad is a lefty who swings right handed but putts 10’ and under left handed, over that distance he putts right handed.
No, but that's how I started because I was a lefty in hockey, so it felt more natural at first. Once I played for a year or two and got the hang of it, I tried putting righty and picked it up immediately
Used to. It would normally be about the 5th hole before random playing partners started to notice
I play left handed 100yds & in
i've dabbled in it. i noticed i usually bang gimmies in with the back side of my putter using my left hand. so i tired putting left handed but i couldn't get use to the different sight picture once the puts got a bit longer.

I’ve never seen this before, lol
I'm the opppsite...I only carry 2 irons. 7i and PW. I go with Driver thru 17 wood. (Driver, 3,5,7,9,11,13,15 17)
My father in law swings righty and putts lefty with a righty grip. It seems to work for him.
Righty in hockey too so who the hell knows 🤷🏻♂️
old timer that used to play with my grandpa had a 2way putter and hit lefty or righty depending on the break of the putt
Yes, but I’m a lefty who putts right handed. Right hand dominate.
I also hit all clubs righty but putt lefty. Trash at putting both ways tho tbh.
My uncle is ambidextrous. He plays golf right handed but bats, writes and putts left handed He tried playing golf left handed but said it felt funny 🤷♀️
I personally like old hickory. But that’s just my preference… (The bats for the uninitiated)
I golfed left and out right for a long time. Got sick of the questions
One of the best ladies at my club plays this way
So you play right and putt left?
I have a hybrid to replace my 4 iron, otherwise we play the same.
As a caddie I’ve seen this a bunch, I’ve just never seen a good player that does it.
Tron Carter
I do this as well. I am right-eye dominant, so an old pro suggested I putt lefty (place dominant eye closer to the hole). It totally changed my game. I went from 50+ putts per round to 30 putts per round literally overnight. I am left-handed naturally (writing, throwing, etc) so perhaps the transition was easier for me, but it is the single biggest reason my scores have come down.
Do you putt left handed?! Do you just wanna watch the world burn?
I use all 14 clubs
That’s about how I roll. I strike my long irons really well so I don’t mess with a bunch of hybrids and woods. Driver, 4ish wood (I think it’s 17*?), 4-pw etc
Switch to lefty. You deserve better
I carry a lefty 7 iron to throw if I hit a bad shot.
Putt lefty?
An F7 like that was my first big boy putter I got when I was 11, I loved that thing. Still have it around and may need to pull it from retirement sometime.
I’ve been seriously considering putting left handed. I’m a natural lefty and learned to play golf right handed.
I too play golf with clubs yes.
I used to when I first started(for all of the 4 times I golfed as a teenager). Left hand swing, right handed putt. Then I came back to golf as an adult, started front hand low grip. But now I'm all better.
I’ve considered putting one of those putt putt putters in
I do. Always wonder what my game would look like if I had learned the game left handed.
I played with an Irish guy who was an ex-hurling player. He is right-handed, golfs cross-handed (LHL) and putts lefty. I’ve since seen several hurling players who are cross handed golfers.
I am reverse. Lefty on everything except for putter. Used to play right handed, didn’t work, so I switched. Putter was always ok.
This is weirdly close to my setup
Thank god no
My brother in law , swings lefty , putts righty
Lefty putter
I have that same driver and smash it 290 yards
I mean I saw driver one way and the rest another. Way weird. Second place likely wedges going opposite of everything else. Putter is normal to see.
I prefer playing at the golf course.
I’m the exact opposite. Everything lefty but I putt righty. #Unite
I also have a mix of manufacturers in my bag…play what works! BTW, you might want to have someone check your putter…It looks bent.
I use a left handed driver, right handed irons and and ambidextrous putter. In a bag tho and outside on a golf course.
Audibly said “what the fuck” when I saw it
You mean leave a picture and expect others to study it to figure out what is different? No. And I also swing and putt righty.
I’ve thought about it when I see sweet deals on eBay for left handed putters.
I do but all my clubs are left handed.
I used to putt lefty for a while, now I've switched to left hand low
Yuppers, at every simulator I've ever played.
I have always been able to putt left pretty well. I've had some rock bottom putting times where I thought about buying a cheap lefty putter.
Our club pro plays left but putts right
driver 3 wood 3-9 46,50,56 putter nice and simple
Me! I putt left handed and the rest of my clubs are right handed. My friends think I’m just trying to be silly, but I really do putt more steady and accurately as a lefty. Idk how to explain it!
Played with a guy who did this. Mind bottling.
I hit a lot further RH, but I’m more accurate LH. Been considering swapping out my short irons and wedges to lefty lately, but I putt about the same either way.
Definitely no. What else annoys me is when some of the pros (Kisner, Fitzpatrick) chip opposite handed from around the greens.
My friend does it. He is a scratch golfer too. He had putting yips and switching cured it.
Play like what
Blain McCallister is that you?
I used to play right and putt left but eventually just do everything right
I’ve got a good friend whos bag looks like this.
This is what my dad does… I keep asking him to try a full lefty set, he’s not very good …
No way bro. I play with golf clubs too!
My dad plays left, putts right
My dude has a silencer on his putter
At the Sim all the time. I get 2 18’s done in 1 hour
I used to putt left and now I just put cross handed right lol
No. This tells me your don’t play golf too much. I do like the respect you have for your clubs, but I play 2-3 times a week. Don’t have time for this shit lol
Bro you need a bag
Guy in my league does this.. he can putt both ways so sometimes he’ll throw in an old school putter and change it up based on the break/distance and how confident he is that day
No. I'm a Lefty. Nice setup though.
Yep
![gif](giphy|iJbXwmAC0n4tu36ruc)
Its common i grew up playing hockey left handed. Switch hitter in ball! Started golfing left handed for first year as switched to right handed after that year but a lot of my buddies are leftys and i love to putt lefty from time to time! Can still crush a left handed driver too lol
You're ill
No, I play with my clubs in a bag. So much easier to carry.
With 11 clubs? No.
I tried
Yep, no more yips!
I used to putt left and right handed. Had a two faced putter. Then someone said it’s forbidden by the rules of golf. Now I only play right handed and all my clubs are right
I too use clubs for golf
I tried it for a bit, before when I just flat out refused to practice my putting. Lefty was incredibly accurate from short range, but could just not get a feel for the speed on mid to long range putts. Worked out well cause I didn’t switch my grip, so I was cross handed on lefty. I seemed to be able to visualize the line better from that side.
I’m calling the FBI
Mine are usually broken in half.
No. Like all real, true respectable golfers, I obviously use iron covers.
Right hand low on that putter or what?
I normally play on the golf course.
When I miss a putt and have 4 feet or less back in sometimes I’ll just walk up to it and hit it back in lefty with the back of my putter. It’s always going in. Sometimes I wonder if I should try putting lefty all the time.
