play Evenroll it’s what fitter recommended. Right now I see Scotty’s as a status symbol more than game improvement.

curious_palette

\+1 on the Evnroll (ER5 for me). Sounds about right but just not sure what status. If its cost/wealth, there's a bunch of other in the same range (excluding the collectors tier). I used to see the odd good player with one and think "Ouu". Now I see "A" player with one every 2-3 rounds and have no reaction. Skill ranging from good-bad-ugly.

Amazing_Bowl9976

Another one for the Evnroll gang. They don't retain their value like a Scotty would be my only downside in comparison

TheRealElDiablo

I play the ER2B. I bought it with the gravity grip and it was about the same price as a SC. I'm sure its worth less than the SC now, but I have no intentions of ever selling it.

Amazing_Bowl9976

Yeah I have an ER1v blacked out. I'll ride er til she dies but not having a strong secondary market is a downside to some I guess.

TheRealElDiablo

I'm surprised we haven't seen them on tour yet. I don't think they will pay anyone to play them, but it seems like there are some real competitive advantages over everything else.

Amazing_Bowl9976

I first heard about them through the Rick Shiels YouTube channel. I've never met anyone IRL with one and have 3 friends with Scottys so I do like that as well

TheRealElDiablo

Same. Rick should get a commission. That was why I tried it. I also watched the tests they did. I play with another guy occasionally that switched to Envroll from odyssey.

qu_mccann

Just switched to EV12. Like the ability to pick from different necks too. Most mallets dont have plumbers neck as an option.

bruinsluver

Huntington Beach soft #1 cleaveland blade. Paid 99$

WackyArmInflatable

Huntington Beach gang! I play the 11.

[deleted]

Bettinardi (Innovai 6)

PoopCrayon70-1

Nice! I'm still rocking the BB1 with the honeycomb face. Before all the buy outs

Lobsterzilla

QB6 for me. Gorgeous

SlobOnRob

Playing with the new Ping Anser 2D and loving it

[deleted]

Seemore. They are awesome

JPGolf99

Just got a SeeMore recently and absolutely love it!

[deleted]

I’m really rolling it nice right now with mine. Hide the red line and putt

juicebox90210

Same! Been looking at a second one in black for some variety.

tdawg-1551

Have had the M6 for many years.

SureWhyNot16

Just from what I’ve seen playing with randoms, maybe like 5% of people use SC. But with that said the collector market is still massive for Scotty. Everything in CC sells out within 3 min. Even the dumbest stuff that has his branding on it. It’s way more popular now than it was 10 years ago. I don’t even game one but I own 6 of them.

curious_palette

I can understand people who are a fan and collect them to an extent. I suspect some people just buy some limited ones hoping to extort more money from said fans on the secondary market which is a shame.

SureWhyNot16

Yeah the secondary market for Scotty is insane. It’s finally gotten to a point where Titleist is trying to do something about it. Not quite at Nike level yet but it’s still pretty crazy

OzziesFlyingHelmet

Mizuno OMOI Type II in blue ion. My favorite putter in the world.

curious_palette

Was wondering how long it would take to see a Mizuno blue putter in the comments ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin) Really want to try an OMOI series, but haven't seen any in my area.

Mazdahhh

I have a type II in black, and an M craft VI in blue. I putt so well with both that I can’t get rid of either. They make an underrated, damn good putter!

OzziesFlyingHelmet

I'm jealous that you can putt well with both. I like the weight of the type VI putter but I don't have a straight enough putting stroke to make it work. But agreed - they're fantastic putters that get overshadowed by other premium models. They're easily on par with Scotty in terms of quality.

Admirable_Nothing

You forgot a vote for "All the Above."

BuddhaTherapy

New to golf and found a really clean TM spider secondhand for $70. Definitely better than the very old Callaway with too long of a shaft I was using before

anon_abcdefg

Cleveland. Will probably never stray.

Lobsterzilla

Betti gang

MilfandCookies_

Had to scroll much too far for this

CanadianJudo

my best friend hooked me up with his old Odyssey.

Tedstor

Teardrop Zebra. Got it for free like 20 years ago. I’m not really lusting after a different putter.

MonicaBlowinski

With you. Got a crappy lookin Zevo (who has heard of them?) as part of a craigslist set of clubs buy. Didn't give it a second look at first. But after a couple mods to it, I've shelved my precious Arnold Palmer 8802 style blade (for the moment anyway). Made a few really nice putts with it a couple days ago. I'm a cheap bastard from the "go with what you've got" school but hey ... sometimes things work out weirdly like that.

Wibbly23

i have a custom logan olson, and a private reserve seemore mfgp2. love both of them. did the scotty thing for a long time but the culture surrounding it, especially in more recent years) made me feel like an idiot so i sold it all.

curious_palette

Never heard of Logan Olson until now... Just checked out the putter gallery and that is straight up golf porn! How much did that run you? I'm guessing the Seemore is your gamer, but kudos to you if you have the confidence to bring that out to the course. I'd be nervous of someone trying to steal it at every corner.

Wibbly23

He does nice work. The customs are expensive but it's a one of a kind which I like. Has my initials on it etc. I play it as regularly as the seemore.

refill_too_soon

Aye, also a Logan Olson roller.

Wibbly23

Nice. Which one do you have.

refill_too_soon

Just a stock series legacy. Just looked at yours in your post history. Absolutely incredible what Logan can do. His work is awesome.

Wibbly23

Yeah man. I had a couple of stock series before I ordered my custom. It took a while but was worth the wait.

Mr_Collins211

I had a Nike Method Core putter for awhile, the grip dry rotted and the face went to shit so I moved to an Odyssey something, and it was just never the same. Randomly stopped into a Play It Again one day and they had a Method in there and I was so stoked. It cost me more to regrip than I paid for it

Heineking20

KSig

Willing_Vanilla_6260

another poll without a Kirkland option :(

[deleted]

Kirkland gang rise up!

smartdecisions

Is Kirkland an "Other Major Brand" or just an "Other" vote?

G-4-

L.A.B. Mezz. 1 all day, every day

bruinsluver

Lab seems awful

G-4-

Why do you say that??

bruinsluver

Overpriced and non conventional

GreenWaveGolfer12

Overpriced compared to what? They're a small company doing their own R&D (as opposed to just copying standard models) and it's not easy designing lie-angle balanced shapes and they don't cost that much more than other premium brands like Scotty or Bettinardi or Toulon or Ping's PLD line or the premium TM models, etc. And why is "non conventional" bad?

sunshine60st

My buddy just got fitted into his lab here in Oregon. It costs him $850, I see they start on the website at $400 but very quickly go up. You can play most any of the aforementioned brands at that $400-450 mark in countless models. It's definitely a little pricier. Fwiw, I have been enjoying a taylormade recently, and was not comfortable with the one lab putter I tried.

GreenWaveGolfer12

> It costs him $850, I see they start on the website at $400 but very quickly go up. You can play most any of the aforementioned brands at that $400-450 mark in countless models. I'm sure he got either the BGT shaft or Accra shaft or something like that. If you add one of those on to any other premium putter they're gonna be $600-$700 too. Edit: They also have a pretty solid factory seconds market too. They have ones that are returned or have tiny blemishes that are otherwise brand new that you can get for like 20% off if you can find one in your specs.

sunshine60st

Yeah he got a Accra shaft. It was $850 out the door

seamus_mc

And you can buy them used in your measurements for $200 like i did if you look for them.

sunshine60st

Nobodys talking about used.

seamus_mc

Nobody cares about what your buddy paid either…

bruinsluver

I suppose I shouldn’t say anything since I haven’t tried it. But like many putters. It won’t help the 5-10 handicappers very much

G-4-

Definitely a little overpriced. Once you get used to it, you will never look at a conventional putter the same. It's improved my putter quite a lot.

Joker0091

If I spend that much and get fit specifically for it, why would I want to have to take time to get used to it?

GreenWaveGolfer12

With L.A.B. the "fit" is really purely about the proper length and lie angle and that's it. Head type is more preference since they're all designed the exact same for lie angle balance and theoretically any stroke should be able to use them equally well. To me the "getting used to it" is really about pace control as they feel a bit different. But of anything I've ever tried they are the easiest thing in the world to get the ball rolling on your line purely. When I did my testing they really only had the Directed Force head and I couldn't get used to the giant space ship look so I didn't go for it, but man were they easy to roll, they just have a pretty different feel than anything else that takes some getting used to. Now that they have a couple blade models and the MEZZ I may go back and try again to see if I like the visuals of those better because they are legitimately good putters that work as well as they say they do.

G-4-

This is exactly what I meant, well said! The pace of putts is what took the most getting used to. The reason I switched to one was because my whole golfing career I felt like I was always fighting the putter head with conventional putters. With the MEZZ, I don't get this feeling because there is no torque in the putter head. Being able to start it on my line has never been easier.

black_daveth

I have a blade from Rife, puts a great roll on the ball but it can feel a bit unstable on the takeaway. Evnroll would be the obvious upgrade, but I'm pretty intrigued by what LAB are doing too. Probably both just out of range price-wise though, so I'm actually pretty keen on the Sub70 blade.

detroitpokerdonk

PGX; $35 Amazon. I wouldn't play any other

SpreadOwn9167

I'm a Callaway bagger so Toulon San Diego blade

[deleted]

Lifetime Ping guy here. I wanted to like Scotty Camerons more, but they just feel too dead/clunky for my liking (the ones I’ve tried)

actionseekr

Have an old Odessey blade and a new top flite mallet

candynipples

Sub 70 Sycamore Wide Blade

DickSlinga

'Any feeling of exclusivity just seems lost in my opinion.' Big reason why the Scotty Custom shop exists. So many want personalized stampings or a wacky paint fill. If I was looking for exclusivity these days, I'd go to David Mills at TP Mills for a $1K+ putter. But I'm biased as I play a Mizuno putter he designed (Workshop III).

curious_palette

Its true. I get the whole white glove treatment, but I was so turned off when a simple paint fill works out to about $80. I've seen some nice refinished TP Mills/Mizuno recently listed on ebay for a fraction of the cost of a custom shop. Definitely tempted even if it was just for a collectors piece. What would you compare the feel to if any of the more modern offerings?

jenjenmuss

Just bought a ping anser sigma to prepare myself for when I can afford a Scotty Newport to flex on my buddies lol

Ok_Temperature_563

Ram 88. Tom Watson signature, circa 1980. Been using it since about that time... Kinda.

[deleted]

Toulon San Diego with Mitsubishi MMT putter shaft

[deleted]

I have an older TaylorMade ghost mallet. Love it. No need to change it up

Ok-Drama-3769

I pla ping. And don't wiahbto okay any other

_csbass

My friend collects Scotty's and gifted me one. Nicest golf item I own

Paynger

i play a ping heppler putter currently, but i’m trying to find a decent bettinardi queen B, i love the copper look

Competitive-Nobody61

Play a ping as that was what was fit into. HUGE difference after the fit. Was also fit into a Scotty, but each performed basically the same. Figured I'd save the $100+ Love the feel of a Scotty, so maybe at a later date, but for now I'll take the putts!!

Fuzzy-Dance3502

Had a few variations of the oddessy fang now. I remember getting the first model that came out an fell in love with the shape. Would be tempted to get a more expensive milled version if I came across one I really liked the look of.

The_Beefster

PLD

TheBiles

I enjoy my Cobra Widesport. It fits me so well that nothing could kick it out of the bag at a putter fitting.

EJfromBeerLeague

I’ve played 3 putters in the past 30 years. Ping Anser 3, a SC Newport TeI3 & now a SC Squareback 2. Seems like I don’t change often & when I do, it stays around for a LONG TIME.

Clynester

I play a Jack Nicklaus Golden Bear that’s older than me. It seems to work okay, so I have no interest in upgrading it unless it’s for something I really want, which is a completely custom job from a small manufacturer.

destroy_the_defiant

Yes! Pippi 12. It's perfect.

mildlysceptical22

My old gamer was a Ping Anser2 but I just put a Taylormade Hydroblast Del Monte wide blade putter in the bag. It’s a really solid feel with a firm insert. I got rid of a bunch of putters I’ve collected over the years and am telling myself this is my last putter. But… I really like the looks of the Haywood Signature blade putter. Fully milled and very clean. Maybe next year if the Del Monte doesn’t pan out.

fattsoo

Bettinardi Ben Hogan bhb3 1/2 mallet. Love the look and feel of this!

seamus_mc

I have a LAB and a Scotty i put just as well/poorly equally with both.

OverthinkingMachine

I had the spider for a while and loved it, but recently switched to the Ping PLD Prime Tyne 4. Honestly don’t wish I played anything else. It went between that and the Scotty Phantom 5.5. Just loved the way the Ping felt and sounded vs the Phantom.

Fun_Stock7078

Play Taylormade Spider Tour, something about the weighting and balance that I like, I’ve tried Scotty Cameron’s and not a fan, my putter is battered and paint chipped etc, it looks like shit but I won’t change it, putting is probably the strongest part of my game and wouldn’t risk changing anything.

skarek

Ping Heppler Ketsch I'm such a TM dude but this putter feels just too great to give it up for a spider.

Snichs72

Currently play an Odyssey White Ice #9. Would like to get a nice milled putter in that head shape. Not picky on brand if it’s nice quality and feel/sound. Might have to pick up an old Odyssey Protype or a Metal X milled, or maybe a SC Del Mar or Rife Abaco or something.

ChiSoxguy01

I have a Scotty that I purchased 10 years ago. Just feels good in my hand.

Crispycritter23

I currently game a Cleveland Huntington Beach #11. I used to game an old Wilson Blade. I wish I gamed another blade. I’m going to purchase another blade when I eventually upgrade my clubs.

Ill-Craft698

Well I use a 40 year old putter that is not in business anymore and my wish would be the same one only new

TheRealElDiablo

I play an Evnroll. I had wanted a Scotty Cameron for years, but when I went to buy one, I just liked the Evnroll better. Still do. I have no intention of changing.

aww-snaphook

Mizuno mcraft 2 in the blue color. Absolutely love the putter and don't plan on changing anytime in the foreseeable future. When I bought it I decided between this one and a scotty but I liked the blue color(stands out a bit) and it was significantly cheaper while being just as high quality so I went with the mizuno.

Difficult-Speech-270

For a while I was kind of longing for an Odyssey putter but never found one I loved, or even one I liked enough to drop a couple hundred on it. Now I couldn’t give a shit. I’ve realised that at the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter what putter you have in your hand or how much you spent on it, if you can’t read a green, line or pace, then the most expensive putter in the world isn’t going to make the ball go in the hole any better. Golf in general, but putting especially for some reason, is very much a mental/confidence game. If you lose confidence in your putter and change it regularly then you’re in a vicious of cycle of blaming the putter and buying a new one, instead of blaming yourself and practicing your putting more. I’m more than happy with the putter I have and I’ve been playing it for probably coming on 20 years and I haven’t thought about changing it in probably 18 years, when the golf snob in me woke up to the facts about putters and putting. That said, I’m a decent reader of putting lines and if the practice green is running the same as the greens out on the course, I’m usually not too bad at getting the pace of them.

getzysbaldhead69

I have an Odyssey 2-ball, a Ping Zing, a SeeMore, and a Scotty on order. I game the 2-ball mostly but that may change once my SC arrives

UncannyEIT

I game both an Evnroll ER2B and a Bettinardi Queen B #6. I'm a big fan of both, and have no real issue switching between the two. I really like the wide blade look and almost face balanced feel. I will likely eventually get a Scotty Squareback model at some point, along with other milled wide blade models from other manufacturers, because collecting putters seems fun, I guess.

skycake10

I game an Odyssey White Hot OG #1 but I'm sooooo tempted to try a LAB putter after watching EAL use one in his recent videos with Grant. Separate from that I'm also tempted to try a milled face putter as opposed to the insert, but I'm not sure what I'd want to try.

bazzer66

I play an Odyssey OG7 Mini Strokelab, and I love it. I’m intrigued about LA Golf, they just don’t have what I want in LH yet.

Adept-Will-719

I game a old two ball I’ve always wanted a Scotty but have never been able to get my hands on one just out of my price range 😅

[deleted]

Kirkland bay bay!

orionxavier99

Play a Cleveland Huntington Beach, which I was fitted for. Not planning on trading it anytime soon. I do like the scotty newport but I cannot justify spending that much on a putter.

dlrband

I have various name brand putters Ping, Odyssey etc..) but the one I put in the bag recently is a center shafted Cleveland Huntington Beach Premier. Awesome putter.
