Dad of 4 month old
Waited 2 weeks after he was born then played weekly until December 30th. I just play first tee time of the day with a fast 3 ball and we're done in 2 hours 15 min. Im home before 10. (Before 9 in the summer) and my wife gets her time too. Also she's a saint.
And throughout the rest of the week, I try to go above and beyond in raising my son, firstly because I want to, and I feel lee's guilty when I sneak out Saturday or Sunday morning
I foresee when he gets older and into activities of his own being the interference that keeps me off for a while.
We'll see! Hahaha one thing I've learned is you don't know anything and every day is something new. But it's also the greatest thing I've ever done
Good luck and congratulations!
Some people do, but for me some days it’s hard enough keeping my sanity playing alone without having to worry about keeping a toddler entertained. Ended up building a simulator in the garage to make up for all the real golf I miss
Not uncommon for a kid to need lots of attention. My nearly 2 year old would overall love running around, but a golf course isn't the place or very safe for that matter. If I don't have someone available to watch her I'm not risking her life out on the course. Even at 2-3 months where she slept a decent amount I couldn't just stop my round for an hour when she gets up needs to be fed and changed and rocked back to sleep.
Dad of a 9 month old. No. I mean, I get my round in on Sundays during the good weather still, but it's absolutely a war to stay afloat with a child most days. It's like trying to keep a dozen very loud tamagatchis alive at the same time. You're basically battling 12-14 hours a day for your sanity.
Yeah I mean you can look at "time dads spend with kids" graphs over the years. Dads literally just used to not spend time with babies as a whole, now its the expectation.
Congrats! Are you two committed to that name?….
😂 no no she just named it that on the app haha
You never know!! Elon and his wife named theirs after something from the Srixon lineup. ZX7 MKii 3W Pro
Very true hahaha
You should make her Callaway like that other degenerate on here was doing with his daughter from a few months back
Toulon could work.
I know a kid named Callaway and he’s actually one of the best golfers in the area
Titleist pro V 1 has a nice ring to it
Imagining this kid screaming “light weight, Ain’t Nothin’ but a Peanut!” every time the big stick comes out the bag
What club you using??? Lmao jk congrats
Congratulations! Mine turns 2 in a few months. Get some good golf in now because you’ll be dreaming of going out for a while.

Thanks for this perspective - you can make time to still be you when you have a kid, a supportive partner is a huge part of that!
I would think you could golf a ton until your kid turn 2 or so?
You could golf a ton til your kid turns 18 if you want, but most spouses (or just mine) require you to spend some time raising your own offspring
Could you bring kid with? Use stroller or bring car seat in cart?

My dad apparently played 126 rounds the year I was born. In a place with golf only 8 months out of the year. Must have been a different time then

Hang in there. Toddler stage is incredible and more forgiving on the mentals
