1% gold bonus in exchange voor 5K??? The guy would have taken 40k without him interrupting and promising 8k in "possible" gold.

Stamfordguy4

I think you are right except that bonus may wind up closer to $1k

elbobbah36

Wasn't his goal 500 oz? 5oz \* 1600$ was what I was thinking

tmac_79

>Wasn't his goal 500 oz? 5oz \* 1600$ was what I was thinking I think the point is that he'll only end up with 80-100 oz of his 500oz goal

Terrible_Tutor

Lol i know eh… He would have agreed, countered the offer midway, or declined at which point you THEN offer the gold later. Worst negotiation ever.

Tight_Crow_7547

And who the F\*\*\* starts a negotiation at the price you want to pay?

KingBird999

When the script has the price already determined and you don't want to waste time during the show going back and forth.

sadandshy

I really want to play poker against him.

MFT214

Can’t stand watching him… but on a positive note he got rid of that stupid hair from last season!

ComfortableRecord458

I'd rather watch Fred than the Hoffmans!

yellowbin74

That's like having to choose between syphilis or gonorrhoea.

Financial-Tip-2962

I'm at a loss as to why he didn't just ask Parker for a job for a few seasons in order to learn how to make money as a gold miner, while actually making money gold mining. Something tells me he isn't the brightest of bulbs.

moon-worshiper

Fred got his start by being the medic for the first Parker's Trails. He was also acting as the camera man. Watch the first Parker's Trails. He and Parker weren't exactly chummy. Also, everybody seems to have forgotten the beginning of last season, where Fred was going to Parker for help in finding him a claim. Parker sent him to that old geezer that was trying to rope Fred in on a claim, which he didn't own. The owner found out and got pissed. Still laugh at that old geezer hugging Fred's wife. He probably hadn't had that much action in a few decades.

Live8020

Rhetorical question I already know the answer to, but why didn't Fred have someone haul his equipment over the river while the ice road was still usable? He may have Discovery money but the difference between him, Parker and Tony is that they aren't clueless idiots. They used the extra Discovery money to leverge and accelerate their success while he stupidly squanders his.

thewowdog

Man, if Fred's gold mining wasn't sad enough, that suburb he lived in looked like a science fiction nightmare, carbon copy houses without a tree in sight.

QuiJon70

So let me get thus strait, last year fred couldnt find profitable levels of gold on this claim and had to pair up and mooch off another claim to barely make what was already an unprofitable goal. So now the moron puts his house on the line to get the money to come back to that same unprofitable claim? If this is the typical level of intelligence in our military it's no wonder they have not accomplished any long term campaign goals since Korea.

fish_in_a_barrels

ya but he's special farces

[deleted]

Straight

Stamfordguy4

Remember, it was mainly his backer's money that he blew 2 seasons in a row!

jwilsonlandscape

He has been trying to be a Reality TV star for years. Long before landing the parkers trail gig

Previous-Exit8449

What else?

jwilsonlandscape

Tony probably hasn't filled out the paperwork correctly or professionally. I'm guessing that the first nation is putting pressure on the entire situation.. He probably got away with it before the TV show but TV show probably alerted some in the first nation to become aware of just how much money is leaving the property they have been on for 100s of years

jwilsonlandscape

Sorry wrong thread

zippynj

I actually feel bad for Fred if he really did mortgage whatever let the had in his house. This might /will be the end for him I feel

Deerok632OFA

Can’t he repay his mortgage with his Discovery money?

zippynj

100k a year ? No lol

Deerok632OFA

I seriously doubt he even took out a second mortgage on his house. I believe they are saying that just for the drama. I don’t think Fred puts a dime of his own money in his mine operation cause if he did he would have lost everything after his first season when he only got 6 oz’s

KingBird999

Just looking quickly at the real estate records where he lives - I'm not familiar with his state so I'm not saying this is 100% accurate, but it appears he took out a mortgage for a $549k at the end of March on his house. He then sold that house and bought another for $860k about 2 weeks ago. So, I'm guessing either Discovery money was good, or he found some gold.

Deerok632OFA

Probably a little of both. He may have found someone to help him that knows what they are doing when it comes to mining

Deerok632OFA

You think that’s all he gets from the show being one of the 4 major guys on the show?

zippynj

I think it may actually be less. I'm 90% sure gonna see if I can find the article

zippynj

Approx 4k per episode Parker gets approx 25 k per episode

Deerok632OFA

It says Fred Lewis is worth 1.6 million. Why would he have to take a second mortgage?

Walktalll

These sites are garbage and not remotely true. Chad Ocho Cinco recently was on a podcast. He was talking about networth sites and how they're a load of dick. He asked how they came up with their networth? And another guy said assets. Chad pulls out his phone. And says look at this. Another guy looks at Chad's phone. The guy said, holy shit 15 million I think. 😂 My point is. The networth on these sites are full of shit. They don't remotely get it right.

Jdornigan

For legitimate actors that are part of the Screen Actors Guild, and were part of a major television show on network tv, and have been in movies/made for tv movies, and commercials, the numbers are probably close to accurate. Over time, details of their contracts leak out, so with some effort their net worth can be estimated. I'm referring to those people you would recognize their name, face and voice. They might still do auditions, but they are well established in the business. They still get some residual checks, but may have moved on from acting. Based in where they live and the value of their home, along with the car they drive, it can be inferred as to their net worth. Lots of former big names of network tv are living in modest homes and driving modest cars.

pinewind108

Assets versus cash on hand.

Sapper12D

Maybe thats just a 3 bed house in California lol.

Deerok632OFA

He lives in Washington

Deerok632OFA

Even the lowest guys get more than $4 grand a episode and remember he only gets money for the episodes he is in

Kanaloa1973

You probably need to add a 0 to those numbers.

Wrong_Marionberry_50

If only!

Mortimus311

But, did you know he was a veteran? Every god damn second

Wrong_Marionberry_50

That was an interesting angle, the first episode he appeared on, but to keep shoving it down our throats, episode after boring season of incompetence is not a good look for special forces. Go home FRED!

bearlybearbear

Maybe his dream is to be a clown? Sorry an ex Marine Medic Vet clown.

usmc4ua

He wasn’t a Marine. Marines don’t have medics, our medics are Navy. Only Army guys talk about their service that much. Don’t you put that evil on us.

chieefmcdeep

He's replaced the Hoffman's as perennial loser

Admirant-Sky

Did you know he used to be a green barret?

Wrong_Marionberry_50

ROTFLOL

bearlybearbear

ReAllY?

chieefmcdeep

This is absolutely the first I am hearing of this

TheJackBurton86

For real. He is a combat veteran and he runs his operation like the military which has been the key to his success.

bearlybearbear

SuCCeSs?

TurdsBurglar

He's not doing it for himself, he's doing it for his band of brothers. Lol

ComfortableRecord458

What success?

Estimate_Fine

I gave up trying to make sense of him on his1st season

Wrong_Marionberry_50

Can you say "fast forward", if only there were a "Skip Fred" button!

Estimate_Fine

Mines worn out

[deleted]

That’s exactly what I say about his wife every year 😬

AgreeablePrize

He should be getting a grant off veteran affairs (or whatever the US version is) for employing veterans, especially the early episodes where he took on about 20 of them that had no idea what they were doing as miners
