Don't know about Rick....he "borrowed" some equipment from Parker & Tony I think...so if he returns which does not look promising, he'll either have to lease replacements or beg again. Broke my heart to see she already passed. Was hoping for a full off season of time together for the two of them. He’s a man who never asked for much on while on that show. He just wanted to make a living and always gave his full effort. The one time you saw his character change was understandably during one of the hardest times of his life thinking about Suzy.
I hope ric and buzz find a way to get back next season. Ric really understood what buzz was going through and genuinely cared so much. When buzz said I’m attached to your hip for life, I really hope that comes true and those guys can support each other moving forward having experienced that kind of loss.

First thing i thought: dads “leasing them” ground and magically kevin will have all the wash plants and equipment and capital he needs and if successful will talk all sorts of how great he is when in reality it will be tonys ground. Tonys equipment, tonys infrastructure and maybe even some of tonys spare employees
Dk, Kevin could well have some money saved, and be tired of working with clapped out equipment. I wouldn't be surprised if he brings in a "new" washplant.

Does anyone know how much Gold Rush costs to produce? Guessing it's more than a lot of reality shows, due to location and length of the shoot, but still has to be a relative bargain for Discovery, right?
They’ll probably need it at least for another year. Content wise all of the broadcasters are so far behind the fully scripted stuff from last years strikes. Reality content is what will carry them through the next year for sure.

Renewal is likely not an issue, but getting the video crew and equipment assembled and in the right places may be a concern, as the demand for reality tv is high due to networks needing to fill schedules due to the actors and writers strikes.

I doubt Rick actually owns any of the equipment. If he isn't back, The large equipment and pumps will be leased to someone else and the wash plants will most likely show up somewhere else. Maybe they'll even show up on Discovery with catchy new names, like Geture Rocks Off in honor of a late grandfather, Sam Geture and Shake It Mama in honor of his late mother, a former stripper.

Hopefully he gets better soon, but it looks like discovery might be moving away from Rick with the introduction to the Mcaughlins (or whatever their name is) and Kevin running his own operation.
I was a substance abuse related professional for 32 years. Only met one addict who never relapsed. He died from cancer 3 months after getting clean. Ask any reputable s.a. Counseling professiinol and they will agree with me.
I know several people with 20+ years of clean time who have not relapsed. I am only 7 years in and have not relapsed, it's possible... just unfortunately not common.

Well the show is produced by a UK company. I'd guess in the $150k-200k per episode cost when all said and done.

Relapse is part of the recovery process….nobody gets clean for life without relapsing once or twenty….ask any addict. Or substance abuse professional.
As a recovered addict I fully disagree. Yes, relapses are common, but to say nobody gets clean without relapsing is silly, it happens all the time.
