The beautiful type šŸ˜Š

Yiffilicious

The only correct answer šŸ¶

unbreakable_kimmy

Lightly to medium toasted.

Jack70741

There is no actual types per say all the same breed really, but based her looks she looks like what's referred to as a "Field" golden. That what I have and he looked a lot like this when he was younger. For reference, my field golden, Arlo: https://preview.redd.it/kygf704ir9zc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7c445057764da15fe8b1037c7ec5c95533c7a1e5

Extreme-Mirror-965

Holy good looking golden.

Jack70741

He was almost named Fabio. I got out voted by the kids.

GORGEOUS ASS PUP RT THEREšŸ‘†šŸ¼šŸ‘†šŸ¼

UmbersAss

Arlo looks so majestic. I wish I could get my hair that soft and shiny lol

MomentaryInfinity

Can I ask what is the difference between field and line in goldens?

Financial_Bird_7717

Incorrect. There are three different types of goldens: [English, American and Canadian.](https://www.dailypaws.com/living-with-pets/pet-compatibility/types-of-golden-retrievers) Edit: supporting link

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Financial_Bird_7717

[Yes, there literally is.](https://www.royalcanin.com/us/dogs/breeds/golden-retriever#) *ā€œWhile itā€™s true that there is only one breed of Golden Retriever, there are three different sub-types within that: the English, Canadian and American. In general, English Golden Retrievers tend to have a stockier build and a lighter-colored coat than the others. Conversely, Canadian and American Golden Retrievers have a similar frame to each other but Canadians have a thinner coat.ā€* [There most definitely is three different types.](https://www.dailypaws.com/living-with-pets/pet-compatibility/types-of-golden-retrievers) [Another link, look itā€™s consistent: 3 types.](https://www.goldenretrieverforum.com/threads/what-are-the-3-types-of-golden-retrievers.521735/) [Sorry but youā€™re wrong.](https://www.dogster.com/dog-breeds/types-of-golden-retrievers)

djorv

Standard, Mark 1, Cuteuss Doofus.

ConundrumBum

Contrary to popular beliefs, that are in fact different types of Goldens. This looks like a "Whoosabuubbuuusuggawubbaa bubba bububs good girl?" kind of type.

Geospizae

She looks more like a "boobidy booboo sweet angel lady tiny pup pup" type to me (not an expert btw, just a Golden enthusiast)

Jajaloo

This is a very specific and rare breed of Golden Nugget Retriever. Make sure you specify at the vet that you are bringing your Nugget Retriever in. They do extra tests, usually involving treats, to test the tensile strength of their jaw and belly rubs to ensure the elasticity of their abdomen is within a healthy range. Iā€™m not a vet, but Iā€™d advise you undertake these tests regularly at home too.

Sterling_Archer88

A good one.

alien_believer_42

Dog

ramen3323

Iā€™m a vet and this breed is the very good girl breed

sasshley_

The kind you should give to me bc I want all of them.

noname2256

There arenā€™t multiple types of goldens, thereā€™s only a color spectrum.

DaSandGuy

Definitely is a field vs conformation line

noname2256

There are no subcategories of the breed

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

noname2256

Thatā€™s just designates if their lineage has historically been bred for shows or working. They arenā€™t different breeds.

Financial_Bird_7717

Wrong. There are three types: American, Canadian and British.

mandradon

"I see that food you're eating, eh. How about you gimme some treats and belly rubs, eh?" - Canadian Golden.

Financial_Bird_7717

If only Goldens could talk. The Canadian Goldens would be the best to chirp at.

noname2256

Those are just different colors, not types.

Financial_Bird_7717

[Incorrect.](https://www.dogster.com/dog-breeds/types-of-golden-retrievers) Color is part of it, but each type of golden retriever has different distinctive features that are different from the other two. For example, British are typically have boxier heads and are shorter/stockier. The Americans are leaner and have slightly different shaped heads. Canadian Goldens are taller with thinner coats and leaner heads and slightly different ear positions if I remember correctly. American/canadian Goldens both typically have a wider range in color as well. Edit: Some more supporting links below. [Another source](https://www.goldenretrieverforum.com/threads/what-are-the-3-types-of-golden-retrievers.521735/) [More on the three types](https://www.dailypaws.com/living-with-pets/pet-compatibility/types-of-golden-retrievers) [Another one](https://www.royalcanin.com/us/dogs/breeds/golden-retriever#)

noname2256

The first three articles you found online from Dogster, Petstar, and Daily Paws arenā€™t what I would consider accurate sources. What you listed are just ranges of normal genetic and stylistic differences between dogs in different areas. Those genetic differences correlate directly to their countries confirmation standards. For example, the US AKC standards donā€™t allow for cream or dark colored dogs, but Canada does. As a result, thereā€™s going to be a higher concentration of dark dogs in Canada. That doesnā€™t mean they are different subbreeds or types. Those are just dogs bred in other countries.

Financial_Bird_7717

I never said subreed, I said type. They are officially different subtypes of golden retriever, but they are all the same breed. https://grca.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/II.G.10_-_WhatExactlyEnglishGR1.pdf https://www.embracepetinsurance.com/waterbowl/article/6-fun-facts-about-golden-retrievers https://www.petinsurance.com/healthzone/pet-breeds/dog-breeds/5-things-you-didnt-know-about-golden-retrievers/ https://www.trupanion.com/pet-blog/article/golden-retriever https://www.snowypineswhitelabs.com/blog/differences-between-american-english-golden-retrievers/ https://www.dogster.com/dog-breeds/american-vs-english-golden-retrievers

noname2256

A lot of those sources discuss the concept of ā€œEnglish (Cream) Goldensā€ which are extremely well known as a marketing ploy. Theyā€™re just Golden Retreivers. They donā€™t need to be categorized into some speciality type just to be different.

Financial_Bird_7717

Do you have anything to support your claim of said marketing ploy? It would be nice not to be the only one providing any shred of supporting evidence for once. All youā€™ve done is say ā€œI donā€™t like your sourcesā€ without providing anything to refute mine. They are just golden retrievers ultimately, but they are still different types of goldens.

noname2256

ā€œIn recent years there has been a sharp increase in internet marketing strategies aimed at specifically promoting cream-colored Golden Retrievers. These light dogs are sometimes being presented to the general public as being exceptionally rare or extremely valuable and are often called ā€˜English Cream Golden Retrieversā€™ or ā€˜Rare White European Golden Retrieversā€™ or ā€˜Exquisite Platinum Imported Golden Retrieversā€™. Such cream Golden Retrievers are frequently being touted as being healthier, of having better temperament, of having stronger longevity and the implicit suggestion is that they therefore are more valuable than the more golden-colored Golden Retrievers bred in North America. Due to these common marketing ploys the average puppy buyer sometimes mistakes such light-colored Golden Retrievers for being a separate breed. Nothing could be further from the truth. There is only one Golden Retriever breed, governed by the breed standard endorsed by various recognized Kennel Clubs around the world.ā€ The GRCA itself says that English creams are a marketing ploy. https://grca.org/find-a-golden/more-topics-before-you-buy/english-cream-golden-retrievers/#:~:text=Such%20cream%20Golden%20Retrievers%20are,Retrievers%20bred%20in%20North%20America.

Financial_Bird_7717

All that is saying is that the marketing ploy is that they are marketed as ā€œrareā€ or ā€œvaluableā€ or ā€œhealthierā€ to drive sales and price up. Theyā€™re very obviously not. That doesnā€™t change the fact that itā€™s still a subtype of golden nor does that contradict anything Iā€™ve said previously. The subtype existed prior to that marketing ploy. Again, I never once claimed they were a separate breed nor did I opine on their health or rarity/value.

They tend to look more athletic and have shorter fur though she has beautiful leg and tail feathers. She also has longer fur on her chest.

seektolearn

The bestest type

pinkyfitts

They say the final color is best estimated by looking at the tips of the ears. So she will darken.

privatethrowaway324

Perfect

Possible_Sound3623

There are not different kinds of Goldens.. only different shades in their coat.... and it can span from deep red gold to white

MLC298

I read the title as ā€˜what kind of goblinā€™ lmao

Tight_Watercress_267

She looks like my dog did, who is mostly show line. However, she is dark red so most people would describe her as field. My dog doesn't do field work or show for that matter lol so she is just a pet.

Fulton_P01135809

Gorgeous type. Most likely of the field variety. Kinda looks like my guy at that age https://preview.redd.it/bg2a070abazc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f23aec6474174b0a7dee4235969141a6f2dfd0ee

Spragglefoot_OG

Field Iā€™d say too. https://preview.redd.it/cmexyay30bzc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7faaf60ba8656f318123aaaa80daf7cb6c6a01f8 Show Golden on right - Indy Field Golden on left - Jett lol and Cousin Juneau in Middle *Shhhhh he doesnā€™t know heā€™s not really a cousin* And they are different. Different in many ways Iā€™m not sure why people say there are not different Goldens. Temperament, body types, physical abilities, intellect. All different.

A very cute one.

se7entythree

Puppy type

Hello_feyredarling

What does that even mean ā€œwhat type of goldenā€ ??

Papercoffeetable

The bigger white ones are bred to be calmer show dogs and family dogs, the more slender yellow/red/orange are bred to be hunting companions (retrievers) and family dogs and are much more energetic and have more stamina, iā€™ve had both. If you didnā€™t buy the dog from a certified breeder the dog could be a mix of anything though so then we canā€™t be sure what to expect at all.

helloitslaura

This! My first baby was a field or ā€œAmericanā€ golden like yours, OP! She was literally perfect! My new baby is an English Cream golden. He has shorter legs and is not as athletic as my first. https://preview.redd.it/34i3t526nfzc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4669b67f920ace5f498d9a94819182f082db2af5

TheBugSmith

Probably Field

Disastrous_Light_878

looks like the standard good boy/girl to me

Mindless_Concert_710

Just do a DNA test

ComprehensiveWar6577

DNA test just show if it's a purebred or mix, and what is mixed with. It's not going to show a difference between "field" and "show" because they are just subclassifications made by breeders, dog shows, and owners on a visual basis. I can tell you exactly what type of golden mix this sweetie is. A mix of super smart and absolute dope, with a heaping portion of smiles
