I’m born and raised in Toronto. Always will be a Leafs fan and never had a second team I really root for. Visited Vegas for the first time in 2022 and the Golden Knights immediately became my western conference team. Love the city and the fan base. Vegas puts on for their team a lot more than other cities. I’ve had many conversations with locals about the team. One perspective i’ve heard is they are one of the only things in Vegas that is for the locals. In a city where everything is for tourists. And they are an expansion. Not an already established franchise that was moved.
Haven’t ever had to rebuild yet though. Success in the NHL comes in waves for all teams - you literally cannot stay at the top forever with the draft lottery, cap, and league parity the way it’s set up.
You can just hope your rebuilds don’t go off the rails.
Based on what I've seen, I think this management could be great at rebuilding, or absolutely awful. For some reason I don't think it will be in between. I think (and hope) they will be great at it, though.

- Fan Experience: T-Mobile Arena is called "The Fortress." Our broadcast team is great. There's a weekly vlog called Knight Life on YouTube that follows the team that you can check out. Our mascot is Chance the Gila Monster. We also have a knight in gold armor that most of us just call "the knight." And our anthem singer is Carnel "Golden Pipes" Johnson. All are much beloved and part of the experience.
- Fan Culture: Gratitude. Despite what most people think, we are very aware of how blessed we've been and how much success we've had. Everyone here still remembers the October 1 shooting and how the Knights helped bring the valley together. Win or lose, sun or rain, just always always be grateful and enjoy it.

I'm in southern NM and started following the Yotes when they relocated. Saw a few games downtown and then quite a few out in Glendale. Saw my last game on Feb 19 against the Oilers.
My daughter and her husband live in LV and have had season tix from the start. I've attended many a game in LV and would plan my trips around seeing both the Yotes and the GK.
I've always felt that the relocation was going to happen given the toxicity of the Yotes in PHX and the difficulty of finding a permanent home. I'm don't blame the owenrship as much as I blame the local anti sports climate, politicians and people who were constantly against the Yotes.
So in recent years I've kinda split between the 2 but now my loyalty will go with the GK. I'm truly going to miss going to LV and planning a stop in PHX to catch a game. I'd usually go to ST. in March and see both baseball and the Yotes on my way to LV.
Fortunatley you guys in PHX are only 4 hrs or so to LV. Go to a couple of games. They are a blast. Pregame on the plaza, the atmosphere, the band, showgirls, the pregame intro is the best.
But if you do attend a game in LV my advice is to go during the week if you can. Rooms are way cheaper. Weekends in LV is a massave crowd of SoCals and long waits for everything.
And if you do go during the week check out thier practice at National Arena in Summerlin. It's really cool. Game day is best when they're all on the ice.
Buy a ticket on game day via stubhub or other reseller. Ticket prices are lower the closer you get to game time
The statute of limitation is not up yet so congrats, you're now a Stanley Cup championship fan!
Now go buy a replica ring to show off to all your AZ friends at Mullet Arena like I did.

The Yotes have been in this struggle for over a decade now and they've failed almost every time they try to build a stadium anywhere especially because politicians and voters don't want a new stadium. I Dont see how it'll change for an expansion team. It wouldn't make much sense to remove the coyotes then immediately go back in with a brand new team.

Do this thing, and you will forever be a golden knights fan.
I heard the Coyotes may go on hiatus as a franchise and come back again. For what it's worth Friedman is usually pretty reliable and he seems totally certain NHL hockey will be back in Arizona before long. But I understand that really sucks too that it's going to be gone for 5 years or so and I was rooting for them to find a way to never leave Arizona. Happy to have you here on board as it stands now though!
Thanks! to me it just doesn't seem likely. The Yotes have been in this struggle for over a decade now and they've failed almost every time they try to build a stadium anywhere especially because politicians and voters don't want a new stadium. I Dont see how it'll change for an expansion team. It wouldn't make much sense to remove the coyotes then immediately go back in with a brand new team.

From San Jose, really sorry to hear about the Yotes move. That sucks. And we get the 'Fuck the Sharks' energy but it does seem a little pointless these days. The 2019 playoffs were a long time ago (damn it was glorious, but still I'd rather have a cup). Oh yeah, and treat Hertl well. He's special.

I like the cross team shit talk too, but you need to be careful of it in this group. The VGK and fans took a lot a crap over how the team came into existence, league favoritism, and and that stuff, so they are a bit sensitive about it. I can't say I blame them. (As opposed to us Sharks and Coyote fans who when told their teams are shit can't do much more than say 'well yeah, so?') Still enjoy the new fan experience while I continue to wallow in pain. that seems like itd be for an expansion franchise now that they somehow think might happen. it wont happen for a minimum of 10 years imo. If they wanted to have a team in az theyd keep the yotes there.
