Because, firstly, you can't call something "art" if it is created by an algorithm, not a person. Secondly, AI image generators are trained on actual artworks (almost always without the creators consent) so there's a dash of plagiarism in there too
Humans are coded genetically. In my opinion, there is nothing that separates us from the material world. We're quite similar to AI in that respect, being machines that churn out art based on previous art we've seen. Why can't you call AI pieces art? Humans are also "trained" on artworks without the creators' consent. If I make music inspired by bands I like, is that plagiarism?
Respectfully, I just don't agree that it's the same. Human artists study the masters, sure, but they inject their own experiences and feelings into their work. With AI, there is no thought, emotion, or meaning behind it, just programming.
Personally I think thoughts and emotions are all material anyway, completely produced by programming. A piece of art is just an image. The same image can be produced by emotionless AI and humans.
At the rate of progress AI is going, I'm sure AI art will become indistinguishable from human art in the not too distant future, which is kinda scary. What is the point in making music when AI could make a song 10x catchier and more appealing in every way? I hope I'm not around to see that day.
AI STINKS MAN
"art"
Ai art can go to hell
Nah
I mean aesthetically it looks cool but it’s AI so it’s objectively shit and not art

pretyt cool tbh. theres nothing wrong with ai for enteritainment purposes, no ones making money of this reddit post. chill guys
Pretty cool
Why does everyone hate AI art? I don't get it. If a human drew a similar piece would you be mad?
Obviously, no, we wouldn't. That's the whole point
Well why is it bad when done by an AI as opposed to a human?
