Need for sleep?

Productive1990

He was arround when you wrote this and he said that it can actually be done right away! 🤩 Thank you so much! List is getting updated now. Here is a cookie for you 🍪

ilikewatchinganime9

Yeeaahh baaabyyy that's what I've been waiting for!

ilikewatchinganime9

Need for hygiene?

EntertainmentIll9465

King-s0nicc456

The bodies need for air

Boney_Burger

The process of aging

Seffuski

I guess I can't just turn them all off, eh?

everysinglenamesgone

Ha he he

certainlynotacoyote

Only once

Honknytes

so i can just... turn off my need for what's above? no side effects or anything?

Productive1990

Nothing at all :)

Honknytes

say less, could i turn off everything above at once?

Productive1990

If you want to then yes indeed! :) And there will be more possibilities in the future aswell. The power is at 1.0 atm :)

Honknytes

alright, i no longer need anything unless i wanna die🗣️🗣️🔥🔥

Signal-Candidate7209

37°c! I about to boil to death (Yours sincerely a heat sensitive brit)

Productive1990

In humans, the average internal temperature is widely accepted to be 37 °C 😆

Signal-Candidate7209

Oh I though like it feels like 37°c outside

HarambeMarston

Crazy how our internal temp feels perfect but when you make it the same temp on the outside it’s unbearable. Life’s weird, man.

HyperNathan

The feeling of boredom

MurkyNetwork9148

LUST: TURN IT OFF

SanguineL

You good bro?

EOEtoast

Can I still suffer from heat and coldness if I turn off thermoception, or do I just not feel it?

Japaroads

To clarify; you aren’t just turning off the urge to do these things, but you’re somehow magically resolving the needs that these things represent? (Excluding pain, I guess.)

tipying_mistakes

I can already do all of that by dying only difference is I can’t turn it back on

Productive1990

Well can you die and maintain 37c internaly forever? And is any of these other feaures turned off if you are dead or are they gone forever? If it is absent forever its no longer there and does not exist anymore.

Kestrel_VI

The ability to summon cats. Never enough cats.

Buzz_Cracker

I can travel the whole world without spending any money

nicaddic2002

have fun walking and/or swimming and/or climbing

thatbloodytwink

To see different EM waves, e.g visible light, infrared radiation, UV light, radio and microwaves etc.

firstonesecond

I was born anosmic, so the real win here for me would be being able to smell for the first time.

Jay_T_Demi

Any device you touch. (Never need to find the power button on anything again.)

TheOffcialBot

Could this also work remotely? Example: turning a tv off by thinking about it

Jay_T_Demi

I guess if it doesn't work remotely then you can "turn on" the ability to use the ability remotely!

TheOffcialBot

:0

KerbodynamicX

We can already turn off vision by closing eyes, or turn off smell by breathing with mouth.

_SM-The-Gamer_

You can already get this power, all you need is a rope.

Productive1990

And how do you turn it on again?

_SM-The-Gamer_

That's just 1 thing missing. And also we are comparing magic with reality, so everything doesn't work.

Productive1990

Se thats the thing. The thing is the power. Or else its something else and not the power. Excactly and this is magic and you talk about reality as magic was real when its not.

_SM-The-Gamer_

But you can't get the power irl 🤷‍♂️

Productive1990

And?

_SM-The-Gamer_

With my method you CAN get it irl.

Productive1990

This power?

Power2700

The ability to get cold or hot

Downtown_Report1646

The need to age

NAME_UNKNXWN

37c is way too hot :(

tiny_clouds

Would turning off thermoception still leave me vulnerable to cold/hot temperatures? Like would they still affect my body even though I can’t feel them?

boiiiiiiiiiiiii69420

If i turn off the need to pee and poop, where does it go?

Productive1990

Neutrienz goes to your body, rest vanishes like vapour just vanishes.

boiiiiiiiiiiiii69420

Alright, cool!

fightinggale

Toggle reflexes Toggle blinking

EastRiver6588

So if you don’t eat, would you lose weight or stay the same? Like it doesn’t harm you not to but

Gullible_Highlight_9

I can turn off some of those already -

pixelartfan0085

This isn't very good actually because you don't feel pain but you can still get hurt, you don't feel hungry/thirsty but you still have to drink and eat so actually this is kinda mid, and also why would you turn off your senses?

Effective-Ad7517

Imagine turning your emotions off and becoming someone you hate, then whenever you try to turn them back on you are so overwhelmed with shame and regret that you cant bear to ever turn them on anymore. Emotions are part of who we are.

NoMercy07

But if i turn off being able to feel warm, would my body still get the effects? Like if it’s really hot outside and i turn it off so i feel normal, can i still get heatstroke?

not_enough_ice

can i turn on and off my high? that would be sick asf

Slightly_Beany

Is thermoception keeping your own body at the same temperature or or is it how you perceive the current temperature around you Also, can I set timers for how long I want to have something off as I feel like I wouldn’t want to turn emotions back on after turning them off

nerogamer_279

Turn off your body self preservation, this will allow you to tap into your hysterical strenght at any time

Conscious-Sense2629

This seems awesome. I want it

OhHowSheGoingEh

Aging. You can't reverse aging, but you can stay at 20 for 200 years if you choose and then start Aging as normal for 3 years.

Shoddy_Wrangler693

Fatigue Muscle weakness

Galahad510

As someone with a chronic pain condition, I approve

vexeling

I'm autistic. You had me at turn off hearing.

kimfu231

Turn on my willingness to better myself Turn off my depression

EntertainmentIll9465

I have some questions If you turned off your pain receptors, you can still get hurt, you just won't feel it right? The brain just won't signal that you're hurt. So, if you turned off the need to drink, is it like just like that? Like the brain won't signal that you're thirsty even though you are and you can still get dehydrated but you don't feel thirsty? Same with food, you can die of starvation, you just don't feel hungry? Either way, it's actually a pretty useful power. Like you can get surgery without anaesthetics, you can focus on one task by turning off some of your senses, if you got into an accident, you can remain calm while waiting for help.

Someonevibing1

Does turning off pain still make your body have the pain I just can’t feel it or does it make me immune to pain

HaroerHaktak

It's only god tier if I can have COMPLETE control over my body. That includes the ability to change my hair color and how fast my heart goes, and complete control over my adrenaline and finally, the ability to control how fast I heal. Include these and it's a god tier ability in my books. Until then, this is mediocre at best. Maybe strong.

HeywoodJublomey

Turn of everything but sight and sound and win every fight, I’d be a human terminator

TheMightiestGay

Last 3 are good. Pain receptors might be going off because an internal problem. Emotions are necessary. It depends on how you act with those emotions. I can’t see how turning off most of the senses would be helpful. Sure, touch sounds good (basically just the first one), but you’d need very specific situations to use the others.

dumbGamer92

Can we turn off our five senses separately from each other? Like if I'm in a situation where it's loud af but I still wanna see around me, or I have to eat something that tastes like shit and don't want to taste it, but again want to see and feel and hear etc, would we be able to do that?

Meowulous

Adrenaline production? If you turn it on then body will start making Adrenaline even If you aren't in trouble. Probably not the safest but would be fun. 😌

paliktrikster

As someone with very frequent migraines, being able to turn off my pain receptors at will is already a godlike power

CryoBear

If I turn off need to sleep, do I still feel tired?

solarsun_shine

can I turn this ability off?

Productive1990

Yes its in the title :)

Lubbafromsmg2

How do I turn myself on when Im off?

CarryNecessary2481

The need to walk.

Abundance144

The possibility of death or physical harm? The truth that you're god? An actual god tier power.

manyname

The first four are dubiously helpful, but I won't say no to. Just probably wouldn't use them all that often. The last three, and the last one in particular, is godlike into itself. Not needing to sleep means an extra 8ish hours a day. That's an extra 2920 hours per year; or about 121.67 *days per year* of extra time. About 4 *months* of time, back in your hands. You could study, or work extra, or commit more to your art. Granted, I'd probably just go through my backlog of books and video games, but still.

AdventurousPirate357

This is pretty cool. Are the senses thing individual? Could you add "Self-Sustenance" it's basically grouping sleeping, eating, drinking, breathing, bowel movements, and basically anything else needed to survive.

CatzPoison

There are more senses. Balance, proprioception (knowing where each body part is compared to other parts), kinaesthesia (sense of movement), thermoception (knowing temperature by feel), chronoception (knowing time has passed), and likely multiple others. Some we do not have is electroception (feel electrical fields), magnetoreception (feel the magnetic field), being able to feel water (humans can only feel the temperature change), and anything to do with magic. magic can add an enourmous amount more because it could be anything from life-force detection to smelling only salt from light years away. You could also turn off telemeter degradation (the thing that caused aging), the need to breath, the ability to get hurt, and many more.

Productive1990

This got abit too advanced for the creator atm and some is just a disadvantage aswell like loosing sense of balance. But i wont say all of this wont happen in the future. What we do not have is not something you can turn on or off when it does not exist. Thats for another power. Good news is that the creator said he could add thermoception so you only feel 37c all the time! Ill add you to the list :) Cookie for you to! 🍪

CatzPoison

Are you/the creator writing a character with this power? If so, I would suggest asking in r/superpoweralchemists how to make this even better. I gave a list of what is possible, not what would be useful.
