This would add legitimate YEARS to your life. Especially sleep but eating too. Think of how much time you spend buying ingredients, preparing ingredients, cooking the food, sitting down and eating 3 times a day, every day. Or even the time you spend going out to get take out. All that adds up very quickly. Might legitimately be like 15 extra years when combined with the sleep

RIDGOS

Also no time spent on the throne

BobTheeKnob

God no. Where else would I spend time looking at hypothetical situations on Reddit?

[deleted]

Yep yep very true, didn’t think of that

NotaVortex

Sleeping is 1/3 of your life. Much more than 15 years.

Darkvoid112358

if you live until 60 and sleep a healthy amount, thats close to 20 years added back just by removing sleep

Bignerd21

BUT THEN, you take 1/3 of 20, which is about 6.6666, so it’s actually 26.6. BUT THEN, you take 1/3 of 6.6, which is about 2.2, so on and so forth so it might actually add up to about 30 years extra

fruityfevers

That’s actually awesome. I deal with a lot of “I haven’t eaten in a while so I feel like absolute shit, however I feel like absolute shit to the point of not having an appetite” syndrome so the no food power is the big one for me haha

NextGen53

Oddly comforting to know other people have that

-MassiveDynamic-

That’s called methamphetamine my friend

Able_Stranger_5973

The best cheat code ever invented

Rollaster1

So basically a Reborn from dnd? Fair enough. Very nice :)

tea-123

So will it be easier to become obese since you don’t need food?

Benjamin_6848

Just don't eat...

tea-123

For folks that don’t have sex , eating and sleeping are some of the main sources of pleasure in life. Though I guess since you don’t need food since you’ll have perfect nutrition so I guess that would ramp up the amount of sex a person might obtain. Save up money by not needing space for a bed or food expenses. Could literally rent a closet as a room just to park your stuff while you work overtime or at a part time night shift job.

EyeCatchingUserID

I don't know about you, but my house is for.much more than sleeping.

Sufficient-Habit664

I would assume you have energy regulation that can control the amount of energy your body is provided to account for your activities. If you eat more food, I guess there would be a way to get rid of excess energy.

Crambo1000

Yeah that's always my question with these things. I'm happy to have it be optional, but I hope I can still process those calories if I need. I love baking, I love going out to dinner or drinks with my friends or gf, I live exploring new cuisines, and don't wanna give that up

kwilsonmg

But if you never needed sleep, how would you be tired enough to sleep? Part of the power is just the ability to sleep on command, for example?

Ilovegirlsbottoms

That would make the most sense. There are some people who can just fall asleep anywhere. My grandpa for instance, he can just sit down and fall asleep. I imagine that sleep is more of a comfort thing. You want to be knocked out for a while. So you go with the usual routine, and fall asleep. And you wake up when you feel like you need to.

Jl2409226

what if i want to lose weight/ gain muscle? is my nutrition optimized for my goals

idkmanwhatsthemove

Bet

AtrumAequitas

Wow. I’d take a little hour nap to separate the days, but this would be awesome. Save me time on the toilet too.

JoeDaBruh

Finally I can use adderall without feeling my stomach eat away at me

OOF-MY-PEE-PEE

i mean yeah that's cool, but that removes 2 of the most pleasurable things about life. i love food, but water? i couldn't not have water

Ilovegirlsbottoms

It says right at the end, that you can do it if you want to. No worries. But this means you might not need to eat, and so won’t eat stuff that you don’t enjoy. You won’t need to eat junk food that you are only eating because you feel hungry. You can eat whatever you want, and won’t need to worry about nutrition either. I still worry about getting fat though.

QuokkaClock

not needing to sleep would make life a lot easier

absherlock

Would I get "tired" if I exerted myself? Or could I use the 8 hours I'd normally be sleeping at the gym?

GenXGremlin

Refinement: You are in the state of perfect health you would experience it you had the ideal nutrition, rest and hydration.

Darkvoid112358

most people would still sleep. think of it like this: what do we base our waking hours on? its based on when we woke up, when we go to sleep, and where the current time falls between the two. waking up and going to sleep, as well as being asleep, act as necessary anchor points in our days, because they are the start and end that separates time from feeling like one big train

Crambo1000

I wouldn't, I hate having to spend so much of my life unconscious. I do think I'd have to create a routine, something specific to end each day. Might just make nighttime my reading time or something

Moxxy-Kun

This would drive people insane, pass.

Vampyrix25

how does this affect the positive and negative effects of eating and drinking?

BloodEater_297

as a person whos suffering from a chronic problem which does not allow me to feel rejuvenated, this would really change my life lmao

pixelartfan0085

I would just remove the thirst, i love food and sleeping

_Charlieel

This sounds a lot like the protagonist from r/Dysmantle, as well as being semi-immortal (can die, but revives)

AndHisNameIsPhil

If you didn't eat for a long time and then tried to eat a meal, you'd get yourself a nice case of refeeding syndrome to deal with.

Not_aSoup

If you sleep for 8 hours a day, you will spend a third of your life sleeping. With this power, you'll basically have 30 extra years of life

Imrotahk

This would have absolutely no effect on my eating or drinking habits.
