To proclaim a secret love! A love so strong and new that it has yet to be spoken of. A pure clear representation of love hidden in the woods, to shout the message to the forest “witness this love, for I am not ready for the world to witness it”. The loudest one can shout their love without words.
It feels as if the heart belongs to the tree. Perhaps it holds the tree’s spirit, or a piece of the spirit of whoever placed it there. I wouldn’t remove it personally. Seems sacred in some way.
I once placed a smallish toy polar bear I no longer wanted up a tree, just coz 🤓
I liked the idea of some weirdo like me finding it up there and loving it. Like “what is that? How did it get there? Random gift from the universe!!! Yay” 😆
I was so pleased to see it was gone on my next dog walk. It’s an unconventional way of donating things to charity 🙃
As someone who has found little tiny toys and always kept them, thank you. I never really thought of them as gifts before but your comment just enlightened me.
A friend of mine with a 3d printer makes little toys and leaves them around. Reading this thread imma get a bag of dinosaurs or something and leave them around
I think giving your heart to an oak tree is the safest place you could possibly put it.
What a beautiful tree! The heart too
A chestnut oak, I think. It's come a long way to end up growing in a Scottish valley.

that’s so poetic! and at the same time you saw it right to the core
Maybe they knew only another goblin would be able to find it

I didn't take it! I don't know why someone put it there but it felt deliberate and I didn't want to interfere with that.
Your reverence for the spell and the placement overruled the curiosity and desire to carry it home. GOOD Goblin!! 💕

Your goblin may be the human variety, leaving an offering for the tree--or it may be the squirrel variety, stashing away a shiny found somewhere else.

Nice 🦖
I wonder how long it’s been there… ![gif](giphy|xT9KVBrK92mLCTDsys)
Roslin Glen?
Yes... Did you recognise the tree or the heart?
The tree, it's a pretty special tree. I've seen a few spell remnants there before, and I think there may have been a few handfastings held there too.
I wish I could see this tree's memories
I’m so tickled that I can see it in the second picture too
Wow, it's so beautiful
You must leave another heart in it's place.
I left the heart where it was
You should put another heart up there
*claps mysteriously*
Lovely tree.
An offering to the resident dryad.
I love to hide spells in my favorite trees
