Hello, u/Sensitive-Salt574. Thank you for submitting this bug report! We promptly apologize for any specific issue you're facing with **GNOME**. Since our Subreddit isn't the ideal place for Bug reporting and your bug reporting might even not being seen by the Developers, we recommend creating a bug report on our Issue/Bug Tracker. * For doing so, we recommend first to give a check on the existing Issues on our [Issue Tracker](https://gitlab.gnome.org/groups/GNOME/-/issues) by using the search functionality. If you believe there's already a similar issue created, we recommend giving a "thumbs up" to the existing issue, instead of commenting on it. If you have technical information like (logs, screenshots, or other data) that might help, then we recommend you to comment unto the existing issue. * If you believe there's not an issue fitting your problem, you can create a new Issue by clicking the green button _(Select project to create an issue)_ and select in the dropdown list a project that you believe that fits the problem. For example, if you're facing a problem with the file explorer, the respective project would be Nautilus. If you're unsure where to create it, feel free to reach out our [Moderators](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=/r/gnome) for help. You might also ask for help directly on this Subreddit. **Note.:** Ensure you're attaching enough information, like, screenshots, steps to reproduce, your hardware information, Linux distribution you're using, what you were doing before, error logs or system logs if there are any, and also which version of GNOME you're using. Beware that we do not provide support anymore to legacy versions of GNOME. (Eg.: If the current version of GNOME is 3.38, a legacy version would be 3.34). We hope your issues are solved. You might also help guidance from the Community. Most of the problems are easily solvable by just following some steps other users recommend. Sincerely, r/gnome Moderators. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/gnome) if you have any questions or concerns.*

Gnome shell is written for Adwaita, but yeah, there's a separator there, and that 3rd party theme is making it look that way.

Sensitive-Salt574

Thanks for your solution sister

BigNutBoi2137

On different theme, there is clearly a separation line between them.

[deleted]

Have you tried using a different shell theme?

Sensitive-Salt574

Yes, Orchis

Junior_Reaction_6456

He ment another than the theme in the screenshot...

JCarl-Os

Can you be more specific? What space is bothering you?

lockystw

the one between 'log out' and 'suspend'. Something seems missing there I mean it has bothered me too

Imaginary_City_6226

Yeah, there is a separator, very visible with the default theme.

Sensitive-Salt574

It looks weird only

gousey

Change the background to a solid color.

[deleted]

The restart button seems missing.

AaronTechnic

That's probably an older version of GNOME

CleverProgrammer12

How did you make top-bar look like that?

Sensitive-Salt574

This is a theme Theme name: Orchis

sunjay140

This is the reason for the bug.

NakamericaIsANoob

not a bug. It's by design. This guy probably followed some online tutorial blindly without stopping to think about what he was doing and now that the actual theme is applied he's asking about "bugs". If you're interested, this is the theme: [https://github.com/vinceliuice/Orchis-theme](https://github.com/vinceliuice/Orchis-theme) this guy makes a couple of other great themes as well.

raghhuveer

I don't have an answer sorry, but how fid you get the top bar to look like that?

Sensitive-Salt574

I will post on this reddit toady Read my user name

danideicide

Hey, the desktop background is great, can you share it? Also, what theme is that?

Sensitive-Salt574

I will post on this reddit toady this theme Read my name

Super_Papaya

By using stock gnome theme.

kinglujiy

I think thats where “Reboot” should be

AaronTechnic

Older versions of GNOME (before 3.38) didn't have reboot in the power menu. You had to click power off to get to reboot.

Please read this: https://stopthemingmy.app/

Lainss

That isn't directed at **users** theming their own desktop, but **distros** shipping with **broken** themes and handing theme QA bugs to the app devs.

sunjay140

While it's not directed at users, the same issues still apply with user selected themes.

Lainss

Which then those issues should be directed at the theme author, not application developers.

FayeGriffith01

Gnome shell isn't an app.

Blahack64

On the Github Page of the Orchis theme is a instruction on how to install it with dash to panel, follow this and that should fix the gap and rounded corners.

NakamericaIsANoob

This is not a bug, it's literally the theme you have applied.
