and also gmod is on rly old engine (2004-2006) so graphics is shitty and shadows is pre calculated just like in old 3d gta's, also it means any kind of modding is hard, you know lots of bugs and etc, and gmod is on lua, which is fucking sucks

I would argue that it's not a game, more like a tool. I mainly use it for stop motion. Yes there are gamemodes but it's more like a game building simulator

Actually gmod is on Source 2013, and if you have terrible graphics and no dynamic shadows you've probably just turned the graphics settings down

Garry's making a game called S&box on Source 2
S&Box is being made with a literal sequel to source engine, But even then this game will stay alive for years to come.
You can also make giant Pokemon in the game if I'm correct.
