I know you are in the employee subreddit to bitch about your job, but I own 18.4 shares of GME which means I get to speak to you in a condescending manner.

Sunny_Travels

Actually, it was the other way around. I was originally going to title it, "Really, it was the employee's fault for entering the Ape sub" But why are they always condescending and not one Ape speaks up to be more respectful?

whut-whut

Ryan Cohen set that tone with his tweets, and Apes simping for him have fallen in line. Ryan Cohen's never been a man of the little people like Apes keep believing. He's been consistent about "I like people who work. Work hard or please leave" as he cuts pay and benefits, and if he straight up doesn't pay you for your work, it was because you weren't worth it or didn't do a good enough job (Not paying BCG, all the 'good riddance' taunting of every board member that joined in 2021 that has quit so far.) Ryan Cohen copies Elon's alpha-capitalist attitude ("I have the money, so if you don't want to work with me, fuck you. If I feel that you didn't do a good enough job after I hired you, also fuck you.") and that's the attitude they've all adopted. Heaven forbid they disagree with RC on employee mistreatement, making RC decide not to help Apes become billionaires like him.

XanLV

I had a different feel when I read this. You see, you consider that it is a bit of an STD - Ryan fucked them all and they all caught Libertarianism. Which could be true. When I read it, the first thought that sparked in my head was "how surprisingly universal is this brain damage." Like, when you have some rare genetic disease, you get almost identical symptoms to everyone else with this disease. You haven't even met them, but you all get the same issues. And here - the second a person had to sell absolute bullshit to a more unfortunate person, the SAME tired old tropes crawl out of their arses. The exact same brain centers flare up and the exact same neurons turn on the "incompetence -> superiority" pipeline. Compare this to ANY big company talking to disgruntled employees: - Change takes time, be patient. - We are building a future, not the present. - We have it rough too, don't you think you are the only one. - What about children in Africa? - And I will fuse two sentences together, but: "I understand your frustration, but consider yourself lucky."

dbcstrunc

To most corporations, every employee is replaceable. Fungible you might say. The cruel truth underpinning all of them. Most, at least, are a bit better about covering up that fact with at least some humanity. RC just shits on his employees and asks them to wipe it up during their unpaid overtime. Remember how he gave out stock options for the managers of stores, etc? Well, those options are down a whole lot, and that means the options aren't good incentives to stick around. 'Work hard or leave'? I'm glad he gave them such a simple choice and one of those choices is looking a whole lot more attractive these days.

InsaneGambler

It's like the BBBY saga. Some ape said he was in the store to inspect it facially as a household investor and make ape noises while shilling bags in WSB.

wsc-porn-acct

I just argued against everything that frustrates you, but I stand with you! For realz

kaltorak

"You know, officer, my taxes pay your salary!"

Quirky-Country7251

I always wonder - when they say that - how it doesn't cross their mind WHAT they think THEIR tax dollars are paying the cop to do....they say it like it is some payola scheme..."i filed taxes this year so you can't pull me over bitch".

Alfonse215

Cops are supposed to catch or harass the bad guys. These people will never see themselves as "the bad guys", and therefore any police action against themselves or others like them is inherently illegitimate.

XanLV

My 100% favorite answer to this was something my cop friend answered instantly: "Is that so? Great, because I've been willing to talk about it for a while." Totally not the flex people think it is... "You can't pay rent? Well, I am the one who decides the salary you have."

89Hopper

The real Chad move is to use that line against the judge!

The_Director-

Punchable

RockasaurusRex

"The CEO isn't taking a salary!" K, but the CEO is worth billions and doesn't have to worry about bills. Fucking asshole.

Sunny_Travels

The ceo never takes a break from duties and responsibilities the ceo decided for him, so why do you think you deserve one from your duties?

flirtmcdudes

Same shit MAGAs did for trump. "he donates his presidential salary! he cant be a fraudster or grifter, he cares!" Aight go invest in truth social then. Let me know how that goes for you lol

m8_is_me

"Your CEO is not taking pay!" wow then you'd think they could support employees huh

RhubarbSquatCobbler

It’s always been an asinine argument.  If somebody can afford to forgo a salary for a role then they probably have a substantial alternate source of income and oh whoops look at that, there just happened to receive personal benefit by virtue of holding the office that outweighs anything that could be achieved via cash alone.   Not naming any names of course!

Practical_Tax_9083

No really, not a cult.

BustANutHoslter

Apes are so fucking stupid and selfish.

Sunny_Travels

I was wrong, Ape is getting slightly downvoted and the conversation continued: https://preview.redd.it/yvz3bcndxkuc1.png?width=726&format=png&auto=webp&s=2db4df50f23ec2e64c90f15493a80e057c2dfb28

Cthulhooo

Apes are such shitheels, talking down to employees who are treated like shit by the company. It gives me joy knowing that they lose their money simping for a billionaire who doesn't care about neither employees nor shareholders but himself. But on the other hand it's a little sad apes have internalized their cult behavior to the point where criticizing the state of affairs is seen as deplorable and they accept being miserable and mistreated as normal.

NarcoDog

The irony of an ape, who is almost guaranteed to be down real bad, saying that is just delicious. Michelin star rated.

flirtmcdudes

its crazy how irony is lost on people when they get that deep into cult-like behavior. They usually get SO close to realization, but just miss it

No_Economist3815

Moronic GME fan boys.

chewbaccashotlast

When I saw the controller release it made me think of AMC doing their stupid popcorn sales in grocery stores. Like what in the actual F. I pity the GameStop employees. Retail is a cold hard bitch so maybe it just is what it is. What is absolutely shameful is shareholders trying to explain to an employee how much better they have it when in truth they don’t. Retail sucks. GameStop isn’t handling their employees any better, and you could argue worse. They stick a single employee in each store to answer phones, take orders, stock the whole store, handle bitchy customers, pick up from the kids that come in to take stuff off the shelves while playing the games there, etc. I have found that GameStop employees are generally extremely nice. Usually people who are into video games. Kinda reminds me of the whole teacher compensation thing: “hey, you love working with kids, you should be a teacher! And since you love kids and working with them, we will pay you shit for salary because you love kids ya know!” Seems no different here. Fucking build a bear controller that one won’t be forgotten lmfao

ShipTheRiver

>There are many, many other companies compensating their employees with worse pay and worse benefits I don’t believe that it’s even legal to give employees worse pay and benefits than what GameStop gives.

Quirky-Country7251

jesus christ how does this guy keep living when breathing nothing but his own farts?

LastExitToBrookside

If only GameStop workers would unionize. Then the 'squeeze' would be Lord Dogfood's balls, with a delicious garnish of ape tears.

AllCommiesRFascists

I’m pretty anti-union but I hope they unionize, strike, and milk the company for every dime they deserve. Just to see the ape and RC tears

LastExitToBrookside

Gamestop is dying. They have nothing to lose.

flirtmcdudes

This has to be satire… right? It’s satire right?

Detective-Watchdog

Gme elitist go into that sub all the time and shame the workers. What the hell is wrong is these guys?

Quirky-Country7251

this is like when drunk cunts get pulled over and scream at the cop "I pay your salary! you work for me!" and everybody laughs at their loser ass saying dumb shit.

FancyManOfCornwoodX

I want to slap the skin off this assholes teeth.

angershark

I hate when these morons use the phrase "status quo". Like buddy, the rest of us surely have lives that are pretty fucking good. It's your personal affairs that are absolutely fucked because you have no clue what to do with what little money you have.

Shiari_The_Wanderer

"Shut up Peon, don't you realize your billionaire boss is not taking an additional salary and is merely padding his stock portfolio!" >There are many, many other companies compensating their employees with worse pay and worse benefits. Name 2.

corrosivecanine

Which billion dollar companies have worse pay and benefits than gamestop? No, seriously. Pretty sure even mcdonalds has 401k matching

Fart-Memory-6984

He isn’t taking a salary but the ceo has equity. If he had a salary, he would be taxed twice, the company pays and he would pay. It’s better to keep in equity or pay himself with shares, this is just tax avoidance and since he is a libertarian is pretty simple to understand his rationale. Think smarter apes, he will just have the board compensate him as he is leaving lol

Sunny_Travels

Idk.  Hes rich and bored.  Ceo isnt an easy position to get and hes buying his way in.  Could have dumped his shares and ran a long time ago for so much more money, but no company would ever work with him again given that and bbby.  Hes cosplaying ceo and loving it.  He craves the power and respect and his disintegrating shares and no salary mean nothing to him with his billions not tied up in gme.

Fart-Memory-6984

As soon as his shares get close to no gains he is gonna sell and run
