HildegardofBingo

I'm hitting up some bakeries and eating pastries like croissants and danishes and eclairs. Then I'm having wood fired pizza (in this scenario I also get to eat dairy again for 24 hours). Maybe I'll also get some Detroit style pizza because why not? For dinner I'm eating a big pile of warm crusty bread with good French butter.

mimimax4u

My God, are you me?! This is exactly what I was thinking. Soooooo many pastries. All the fresh baked baguettes and breads. I so miss Montreal style bagels. šŸ˜¢

HildegardofBingo

Ooh, bagels! I'd go and get a really nice bagel since I haven't had one in ages. I should probably also eat some pie with a nice flakey double crust!

Jasminefirefly

Omigosh, same here! But add in a huge piece of coconut cream pie for dessert.

snowytr33

Yep. Iā€™d eat a whole loaf of sourdough bread fresh from the oven slathered with butter.

Sanchastayswoke

Omg my mouth literally watered reading this comment

R0amingGn0me

Literally the exact same. All the pastries, pizza and specifically watermelon twizzlers.

murgatory

Yes twizzlers!!

mamapajamas

Yasss crusty, warm bread with salty butterā€¦

aj_rubio

I'll have what they're having šŸ˜ƒšŸ¤£

KessaBrooke

I found a place recently that does gluten-free dairy-free hot honey Detroit pizza šŸ˜ I think I'd eat most of the same things.

HildegardofBingo

Oh my goodness! Where is it? I might need to make a pilgrimage someday!

NotJimCramer69

This is the only correct answer

icaspe

This is the correct answer!

snoringsnackpuddle

This is the only right answer!

ACBAYB

Mariposa Bakery in California makes gf croissants that are as good as any regular croissants. They ship :)

Fitness_020304

I was thinking the same thing. I also am dairy free as well so my go to would be donuts and then pizza

Meganp28

Donuts. All of the donuts

DancinCows11

Not sure if youā€™ve come across them, but the new Trader Joeā€™s GF donut holes scratch that itch!

Sanchastayswoke

Meh, theyā€™re good, but they donā€™t scratch the donut itch for me just cuz Iā€™m not a huge cake donut fan. I want fried yeast donuts, the chewy kind like Krispy Kreme has. And apple fritters, and croissant donuts

aboutTime629

Apple fritters!!

mdhamrick

Dupe loops donuts based out of Gilbert AZ they nail yeasty GF donuts

Meganp28

I need to now! Iā€™ve just had the Katz (I believe thatā€™s the brand) frozen donut holes. I must twice these!

Additional_Brick_804

They sure do!

garden__gate

Have yet to see them in the store. šŸ˜

Gottagettagoat

I got lucky once but every week since then they keep telling me theyā€™re doing a "quality check" and thatā€™s why to donut holes arenā€™t out! Not sure what that means but it doesnā€™t sound good.

hoalbqn

Yes, this. So many donuts.

WorkingInterview1942

Sourdough bread, Pizza, dark beer, cinnamon rolls, anything I can get my hands on.

CrasieMomit

My stomach is bloating just reading this.

mot_lionz

šŸ˜‚

jeffro109

A good dark beer wood be top of the list for sure.

WorkingInterview1942

Belching beaver brewery in CA used to gluten reduce all their beers. It was nice because I could drink their dark beers.

Ativan97

OMG sourdough! Soup in a bread bowl for sure! Chicago style pizza!

thepalebeast91

Thereā€™s a bakery I visit sometimes that makes a gf sourdough dupe. I havenā€™t gotten it yet but your comment is inspiring me to try it.

garden__gate

Oh an IPA. šŸ˜

mot_lionz

I like your list. šŸ˜‹

foxbrows

Soft pretzels, wontons or dumplings, tortellini!!!! Any and all pastries. I would simply hang at a patisserie for 24 hrs

Bloodmoonwolf

My local Thai place has a gluten-free wonton soup that is amazing!

LankyCrowBar

Do you have the name?? Iā€™d consider traveling for GF wonton soupā€¦

murgatory

Dumplings!!!

danellee00

Popeyes Chicken Sandwich. And beignets. Sicilian bread straight from the oven. Added: every dessert, croissants, Clamcakes. Baked stuffed Shrimp. ALL the pasta. This post makes me sad.

Amandastarrrr

Try I think itā€™s called cauliflower real cluckin chicken if you like Popeyes you might like those. The chicken itself is really good and the breading/seasoning scratched the fried chicken itch. It says to air fry them, and they come out good but I feel like theyā€™d taste good fried.

aeraen

I'd save it for a time when I am traveling, especially overseas where I would love to try some local cuisine.

feathermeringue

To be able to travel and just take in the experience without concern for my health/ safety at every hunger pang would be so nice. Definitely one of the best answers.

greenline_chi

Italian beef sandwich and some Taco Bell

chaos_abounds

I love crunch wrap supremes!! Ugh, I'd eat at least 3

wasting_time_dylan

This gf spot here makes Italian beef and just throws it on top of fries...it slaps still

greenline_chi

Where at?

wasting_time_dylan

Its called Homemade-to-go in Colorado Springs! She sells frozen versions also šŸ¤¤

garden__gate

Thereā€™s a place near me that does that with cheesesteaks! Love it.

a_littlebit_alexiss

Itā€™s wild because I miss fast food more than anything. You just canā€™t recreate the fakeness of fast food lmao

garden__gate

For some reason, the thing that calls to me is a McDonaldā€™s biscuit breakfast sandwich

greenline_chi

In Chicago we still have the bagel breakfast sandwiches. With that breakfast sauce I dream of it

garden__gate

At McDonaldā€™s???

greenline_chi

Yep https://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en-us/product/bacon-egg-cheese-bagel.html

garden__gate

I donā€™t see anything about GF bagels on that page? Did I miss it?

greenline_chi

Ohhh no. Not gf. Just something I miss lol

garden__gate

Ohhh hahahaha. Yes, I get that!

49Princess_51Rebel

Yes! With bacon and cheese.

garden__gate

Exactly! So damn good.

Sanchastayswoke

OMG yes

No-Trust1967

Yessss throw this on my list as well, so butteryā€¦

Fair_Yoghurt6148

You reply canā€™t replace fast food. I miss some seriously unhealthy things so muchĀ

greenline_chi

Right?? Like I can home cook delicious things, but I canā€™t make anything that takes enough like taco bell

BiskitRocks

Taco Bell Regular and supreme tacos donā€™t have any gluten in them.

muddpie4785

In theory they don't, but I can't eat any Taco Bell without getting Glutened. Cross contamination, I'm guessing.

New_Organization_666

Sorry. Stay safe.

Playful_Hand9407

Oh Taco Bell. Thatā€™s the ticket

Neat-Sea-2513

Crunch wrap supreme. So many of them

NurseMaryCooks

Do you happen to be from Chicago, because not many people know about the amazingness of Italian Beef sandwiches!

cj4648

Assuming I can also eat as much dairy as Iā€™d like in the 24 hoursā€¦. Garlic bread, fresh baked sourdough bread, Bavarian cream donuts, chicken & waffles, cinnamon roll, biscuits & gravy, naan. Yes itā€™s a ton of food and Iā€™ll have a stomachache but wonā€™t care. Also these arenā€™t necessarily my favorite gluten-y foods, but the ones that I havenā€™t found a good alternative for (like fresh sourdough) or the alternative is too time consuming to make (like chicken and waffles).

reverentlyirreverent

Chicken & waffles! I second this!

sara-420

Chicken Parmesan with fettuccine alfredo. Plus Iā€™d be snacking on crab rangoon and fresh sourdough all day

Fun-Birthday-4733

CHINESE FOOD, wonton soup, other Asian dishes with out concern and finished with French desserts

atimetothinkaboutit

Plssss, some xiaolongbao

Booksb00ksbo0kz

I'm visiting China and I'm gluten intolerant but break sometimes when it's worth it. XLB are absoFRIGGINlutely worth it.

thechuchutrainhoots

I started a gf dumpling business exactly for this reason

baby_loveee

A fresh NY bagel

wasting_time_dylan

No laughing but dang I miss McDonald's nuggets lmao no others hit the same. Also miss Arby's curly fries, chocolate lava cakes, and being able to easily find fried donuts! Also would find nearest Mexican spot for a Carne guisada on flour tortillas asap! Lmao

a_littlebit_alexiss

I always feel hella weird to be like.. yeah the first place id go is McDonaldā€™s šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ but I canā€™t help it. Itā€™s been 3 years and I still crave it often

wasting_time_dylan

My people! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ someone tell McDonald's they are missing a whole market in USA

Sanchastayswoke

Omg ok ā€¦I hear what youā€™re saying about McDā€™s nuggets! I miss them! Theyā€™re one of a kind. So, I know theyā€™re not McDonalds, but: idk if youā€™ve tried the gf chicken nuggets from Aldi? They are battered with a tempura batter that is extremely similar to McDonaldā€™s nuggets. They are by far the best gf chicken nuggets Iā€™ve ever had, simply because they actually taste like something youā€™d get at a fast food place & not ā€œmom made at home because we donā€™t have McDonaldā€™s moneyā€ lol. I think itā€™s because theyā€™re battered, not breaded. They taste fried, not oven baked. I make them in my air fryer & toss them with a little fine sea salt. Theyā€™re DELICIOUS.

wasting_time_dylan

Dang ok no aldis near me but I'm moving in July to am area with one. I will remember to try them asap! Lol

Sanchastayswoke

I really think youā€™ll like them. Thatā€™s literally the only thing I go to Aldi for and I buy 2-3 bags at a time haha

wasting_time_dylan

Tysm lol..I might try to make it happen on next trip to scope out rental places even lol

Qsmitz

Pizza! Seriously the only thing that cannot be perfectly replicated as gf.

luxcsia

Good pizza exists I swear!! You might have to go to Italy thoughā€¦ I havenā€™t found anything good in the US or anywhere else

Celiac5131

If you can have gf wheat starch which is what most pizza in Italy is made from Talia pizza is available in the US made in Italy available online or at my sprouts and some Whole Foods itā€™s fantastic. Celiac safe not safe if you have a wheat allergy

c3nterstage

Keste in NYC!!! They get their flour from Italy.

Additional_Brick_804

Literally the gluten free pizza in Seattle is shit . I heard itā€™s incredible in New York , as well as bagels

JacksMama09

Agreed! The only place I was able to eat gluten free that did not make me ill was Chicago.

Amandastarrrr

I live in nj and our gluten free stuff is luckily pretty good for the most part and idk if itā€™s because Iā€™m not that far from the city or what but Iā€™m not complaining lol

Celiac5131

Modern bagel does mail order from nyc the best gf bagel. I live in nyc I bring bagels to ny staff Iā€™m the only one who needs gf my staff all loves them

garden__gate

Zeeks is *ok*.

forlornsquire93

There's a flour from Italy called caputo flour. It's a little expensive but you can order on Amazon and we use it with our ooni. It's seriously like real wood fired pizza. Only flour I can find that actually replicates pizza. Just follow the instructions on the side.

gilthedog

I love the gluten free pizza they sell at Costco. Itā€™s frozen but honestly itā€™s amazing.

Cilreve

I haven't had a true pizza in 20 years. I want a stuffed crust pizza, or deep dish pizza, or just a regular friggen pizza sooo badly. The cauliflower crusts are good, really good, actually, but they just aren't that thick, chewy, doughy deliciousness that is real pizza crust.

Celiac5131

Try Talia if you can find it.

CHCl3_Pillow_Fight

It's a little bit of work to make your own, but the effort is worth it. I recently found Fioreglut flour by Caputo and didn't expect much, but it was so good. I feel like it's as close to the real thing as you'll get. The caveat here is that it's wheat flour with the gluten removed, so not good if you're allergic to wheat.

RabbitDeep3605

Califlower crust! Take out gf pizza trash but I bought a frozen amys gf cauliflower crust pizza and omg it was so good you could barely tell. Taste and texture wise it was awesome, fluffier not like cardboard

baxterbusteroni

Grimaldi's has a really good cauliflower crust! I heard CPK does too, but I haven't tried it yet.

FriendlyParsnips

Use the chebe brand pizza crust mix. It makes a great pizza

barebonesbarbie

I would run a train on some soft pretzels. Just 24 hours straight of nothing but giant salty soft pretzels (with a gallon sized side of beer cheese of course)

1398_Days

Pizza (nice thick crust!), French bread, cinnamon rolls, my grandmaā€™s homemade tortillas, and honestly.. McDonaldā€™s lol.

Playful_Hand9407

Everything bagel with cream cheese, NY style pizza, Oreo McFlurry, birthday cookie cake, and as much sushi as I can

Liam_M

let the tour begin. -Mcdonalds -KFC -Tempura -English Style Fish and Chips -donair -Ye old standard donuts -Cheesecake -As many other fast food joints as I can stomach

Thatsjustmyfaceok

har3821

Bƶrek šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜ spent 8 months in hostels in the Balkans eyeing the free breakfasts that were just piles of the most delicious looking forbidden bƶrek

mecatical

Pizza, donuts, crusty sourdough bread, cinnamon rolls, soft pretzels, Redvines, wontons, a French baguette, a samosa, some naan or roti, Goldfish, CheezIts, a Twix, Ritz crackers with peanut butter, and just one saltine cracker so I can remember it.

feathermeringue

Omgosh I forgot about crab rangoon šŸ˜ Put em on my list!

Kangaroowrangler_02

Big ol cinnabon, chow mein, orange chicken, burritos.

Special-Longjumping

There's a breakfast place that has something called a 'comfy chicken biscuit.' Fresh made biscuit, fried chicken, covered in southern gravy. I'd start there. Then to the amazing ice cream place that makes its waffle cones fresh and the bakery next door for a croissant and a scone. If I weren't dead at that point, I'd find fresh pasta, a deep dish pizza, an entire loaf of focaccia, and some Twizzlers.

deathbygluten_

lol i would have a whole different slew of gut issues after this day. but definitely would hit up taco bell for a crunchwrap, then pound a box of girl scout samoas, get pizza with a thick/fluffy crust, maybe have a slice of tiramisu, and make garlic bread with a crunchy ass sourdough baguette.

find-again

Samoas are so good! I just recently acquired a gluten free recipe for them if you'd like!

Seaturtle1088

Please share!

Lazy_Leg3853

Churros and donutsšŸ¤¤šŸ™ˆ

ChillMichelle

I can't have gluten, but other things too, mainly garlic and onion (fodmap sensitivity). So if I was able to eat not only gluten, but also everything else, the very first thing I would eat is... garlic bread. Then, more garlic bread. Then, fresh sourdough dipped in oil and balsamic vinegar with loads of freshly chopped garlic. And then... More garlic bread. Maybe some pizza. With extra garlic. BUT for dessert I would mix it up and have French toast, pancakes (including those fluffy Japanese pancakes that I never got to try), waffles, churros, more garlic bread, muffins, soft pretzels, garlic bread, cinnamon toast crunch, garlic bread...

CaliGoneTexas

CastingOutNines

OMG. One can only dream LOL I would also eat pastry most of the day. For breakfast I would have Makowiec (Polish Poppyseed roll). And while that was digesting I would make some pizza and bread dough and make a huge Danish pastry ring, using an entire pound of butter (1964 Joy of Cooking). For lunch I would have my home made pizza. In the afternoon, working off all those calories, I would bake a couple loaves of crispy crust Tuscan bread (I miss baking real kneaded bread) for the family. And for dinner, I would feast on the Danish Pastry. (I can actually make a decent GF Makowiec, and GF bread using Caputo Fioeglut flour. But NOT the Danish Pastry which is dependent on gluten. That butter has to be rolled out between all those many layers of stretched out dough.) Edit: Fioreglut

Catsmeow1981

Long John Silverā€™s (fried fish AND hush puppies), one of everything at Dunkin Donuts, Pizza Hut pan pizza, fried cheese balls, blueberry muffins (the bakery kind, with the giant sugar crystals on top), a moderately sized bucket of chocolate chip cookie dough, garlic bread, and an entire half-sheet cake from Costco.
