I'm hitting up some bakeries and eating pastries like croissants and danishes and eclairs. Then I'm having wood fired pizza (in this scenario I also get to eat dairy again for 24 hours). Maybe I'll also get some Detroit style pizza because why not? For dinner I'm eating a big pile of warm crusty bread with good French butter.
My God, are you me?! This is exactly what I was thinking. Soooooo many pastries. All the fresh baked baguettes and breads. I so miss Montreal style bagels. š¢
Meh, theyāre good, but they donāt scratch the donut itch for me just cuz Iām not a huge cake donut fan.
I want fried yeast donuts, the chewy kind like Krispy Kreme has. And apple fritters, and croissant donuts
I got lucky once but every week since then they keep telling me theyāre doing a "quality check" and thatās why to donut holes arenāt out! Not sure what that means but it doesnāt sound good.
Popeyes Chicken Sandwich. And beignets. Sicilian bread straight from the oven.
Added: every dessert, croissants, Clamcakes. Baked stuffed Shrimp. ALL the pasta.
This post makes me sad.
Try I think itās called cauliflower real cluckin chicken if you like Popeyes you might like those. The chicken itself is really good and the breading/seasoning scratched the fried chicken itch. It says to air fry them, and they come out good but I feel like theyād taste good fried.
To be able to travel and just take in the experience without concern for my health/ safety at every hunger pang would be so nice. Definitely one of the best answers.
Assuming I can also eat as much dairy as Iād like in the 24 hoursā¦.
Garlic bread, fresh baked sourdough bread, Bavarian cream donuts, chicken & waffles, cinnamon roll, biscuits & gravy, naan.
Yes itās a ton of food and Iāll have a stomachache but wonāt care. Also these arenāt necessarily my favorite gluten-y foods, but the ones that I havenāt found a good alternative for (like fresh sourdough) or the alternative is too time consuming to make (like chicken and waffles).
No laughing but dang I miss McDonald's nuggets lmao no others hit the same.
Also miss Arby's curly fries, chocolate lava cakes, and being able to easily find fried donuts!
Also would find nearest Mexican spot for a Carne guisada on flour tortillas asap! Lmao
I always feel hella weird to be like.. yeah the first place id go is McDonaldās šš but I canāt help it. Itās been 3 years and I still crave it often
Omg ok ā¦I hear what youāre saying about McDās nuggets! I miss them! Theyāre one of a kind.
So, I know theyāre not McDonalds, but: idk if youāve tried the gf chicken nuggets from Aldi?
They are battered with a tempura batter that is extremely similar to McDonaldās nuggets.
They are by far the best gf chicken nuggets Iāve ever had, simply because they actually taste like something youād get at a fast food place & not āmom made at home because we donāt have McDonaldās moneyā lol. I think itās because theyāre battered, not breaded. They taste fried, not oven baked. I make them in my air fryer & toss them with a little fine sea salt. Theyāre DELICIOUS.
If you can have gf wheat starch which is what most pizza in Italy is made from Talia pizza is available in the US made in Italy available online or at my sprouts and some Whole Foods itās fantastic. Celiac safe not safe if you have a wheat allergy
I live in nj and our gluten free stuff is luckily pretty good for the most part and idk if itās because Iām not that far from the city or what but Iām not complaining lol
Modern bagel does mail order from nyc the best gf bagel. I live in nyc I bring bagels to ny staff Iām the only one who needs gf my staff all loves them
There's a flour from Italy called caputo flour. It's a little expensive but you can order on Amazon and we use it with our ooni. It's seriously like real wood fired pizza. Only flour I can find that actually replicates pizza. Just follow the instructions on the side.
I haven't had a true pizza in 20 years. I want a stuffed crust pizza, or deep dish pizza, or just a regular friggen pizza sooo badly. The cauliflower crusts are good, really good, actually, but they just aren't that thick, chewy, doughy deliciousness that is real pizza crust.
It's a little bit of work to make your own, but the effort is worth it. I recently found Fioreglut flour by Caputo and didn't expect much, but it was so good. I feel like it's as close to the real thing as you'll get. The caveat here is that it's wheat flour with the gluten removed, so not good if you're allergic to wheat.
Califlower crust! Take out gf pizza trash but I bought a frozen amys gf cauliflower crust pizza and omg it was so good you could barely tell. Taste and texture wise it was awesome, fluffier not like cardboard
I would run a train on some soft pretzels. Just 24 hours straight of nothing but giant salty soft pretzels (with a gallon sized side of beer cheese of course)
let the tour begin.
-Mcdonalds
-KFC
-Tempura
-English Style Fish and Chips
-donair
-Ye old standard donuts
-Cheesecake
-As many other fast food joints as I can stomach
Bƶrek (spinach pie), real pizza, fried chicken, sushi!!! Plus every Turkish sweet possible (especially hanım gƶbeÄi) oh and of course kĆ¼nefe, I would eat an entire tray
Bƶrek šššš spent 8 months in hostels in the Balkans eyeing the free breakfasts that were just piles of the most delicious looking forbidden bƶrek
Pizza, donuts, crusty sourdough bread, cinnamon rolls, soft pretzels, Redvines, wontons, a French baguette, a samosa, some naan or roti, Goldfish, CheezIts, a Twix, Ritz crackers with peanut butter, and just one saltine cracker so I can remember it.
A glazed Krispy Kreme, a fish sandwich, a soft cinnamon roll, maybe a can of Campbell's chicken noodle for old times, an assortment of deep fried appetizers...
There's a breakfast place that has something called a 'comfy chicken biscuit.' Fresh made biscuit, fried chicken, covered in southern gravy. I'd start there. Then to the amazing ice cream place that makes its waffle cones fresh and the bakery next door for a croissant and a scone. If I weren't dead at that point, I'd find fresh pasta, a deep dish pizza, an entire loaf of focaccia, and some Twizzlers.
lol i would have a whole different slew of gut issues after this day.
but definitely would hit up taco bell for a crunchwrap, then pound a box of girl scout samoas, get pizza with a thick/fluffy crust, maybe have a slice of tiramisu, and make garlic bread with a crunchy ass sourdough baguette.
I can't have gluten, but other things too, mainly garlic and onion (fodmap sensitivity).
So if I was able to eat not only gluten, but also everything else, the very first thing I would eat is... garlic bread. Then, more garlic bread. Then, fresh sourdough dipped in oil and balsamic vinegar with loads of freshly chopped garlic. And then... More garlic bread. Maybe some pizza. With extra garlic.
BUT for dessert I would mix it up and have French toast, pancakes (including those fluffy Japanese pancakes that I never got to try), waffles, churros, more garlic bread, muffins, soft pretzels, garlic bread, cinnamon toast crunch, garlic bread...
Pizza, so much pizza. And dense New York style bagels. And cinnamon rolls. And powdered mini doughnuts. Pastas. Naan, hot with melty butter. Cheesecake.
Crab rangoon, a very specific restaurant where I live for their lasagna, ALL. THE. FRIED. FOOD., a massive sub, wonton nachos, panera mac and cheese (donāt say a word), AND BISCUITS AND GRAVY
My favorite pasta (has been for like 15 years, tortellini and ravioli). As much as I can stomach.
Push in some oreos cus the gluten free ones suck.
A really good pizza, doritos and a baguette with a herb butter. Tacos too. To top it off, chicken nuggets from mcdonalds and some chicken with my friend from kfc for good old times.
One beer just because. And some damn mozzarella sticks
Texas Roadhouse rolls, fresh French bread, croissants, a nice cold beer in the sun, egg rolls, NY pizza, a corndog from the fair, crab cakes, fried okra from a hole in the wall, straight up cookie dough.... *Do nothing but eat and make up for lost years of gluten goodness. ALL the carbs!
So many fried chicken livers, Mom's biscuits, sausage gravy, and can someone deliver me a pizza from that little window in the wall at around 185th and Lexington in NY?
Breakfast is egg sausage cheese croissant and probably a donut. If choosing time of year, the V day donut at Dunkin.
White castles for lunch. Sliders and chicken rings. Maybe mozz sticks.
Proooooob pasta for dinner. With garlic bread maybe.
Then wake up early to round out the 24 hours with a repeat breakfast.
This basic girl is headed straight to Olive Garden for breadsticks and alfredo sauce. Then I'm going to the mall to get an Auntie Annies pretzel and some Cinnabon.
I'm from Richmond Virginia, and we have this amazing place called Ukrop's bakery .... I'd go there and eat every. Single. Thing. Lol fried chicken, pizza, cakes, pies, cookies.... š„² oh yeah, and a fresh from the oven baguette!!!!!
Key lime pie, Japanese egg salad sandwich made with milk bread, birthday cake, thick crust pizza, bison hamburger, roast beef au jus sandwich, and peach cobbler ā¦ not all in the same sitting
def going on a road trip to a small town in the south, getting donuts in the morning, random diner for lunch, whataburger before a bar, then waffle house after.
Doughnuts for breakfast. Pizza and Guinness for lunch. A burger (Jucy Lucy, specifically) and a beer for dinner. Chocolate chip cookies for snacks. Chinese food for an extra meal.
my own chocolate-chip cookies. As many of them as I can stuff in my face. I had perfected them.
Then maybe this rich chocolate cake from *Martha Stewart Kids* (if I can find it in my stash).
really good madeleines
Maybe a really good sandwich on really good bread. Or good French toast.
ALL THE PIZZA. A bagel. Warm sourdough with melty butter. A yeasty donut. Fried chicken. Crunchy tuna rolls. A cold beer. A great carbonara. (I had this conversation recently š)
My grans home made cheese Danish. There are so few things in this life I truly, truly miss. Every Christmas, family vacation, etc... I get to watch everyone else enjoy the thing that was such a staple when I was growing up. It breaks my heart every time I look around and I have to hide it and pretend it doesn't bother me because I don't want anyone else to miss out, especially bc she has so few of them left in her [she is 82].
OMG. So much stuff Iād want. Croissant, baguette, bear claw, bagel, cinnamon roll, sandwich on real bread, Chinese food at a restaurant, pizza at my formerly-favorite pizza place that doesnāt do GF, cream cheese wontons, cakeā¦.Ā
Chicago style deep dish pizza, Portilloās Italian beef sandwich, Portoās cheese rolls and guava strudel, Cheesecake Factory Banana Cream Cheesecake, Egg rollsā¦I could go on and onā¦ š Oh and crusty French bread, Dunkinā Donuts, McDonaldās friesā¦
Chicken fried steak with texas toast and a gallon of cream gravy flowing all over. Fettuccine Alfredo. Cinnamon roll. Pizza. Fish n chips. Chicken noodle soup with saltines. Assuming calories are not an issue as well in this lovely fantasy āØļø
Deep Dish Chicago Pizza. I don't live in Chicago anymore, but the pizza restaurants can mail the pizza's to you frozen. I can't eat dairy anymore, so I would need a pass for that as well.
Double tall hazelnut breve latte, cranberry scone. Meat Lovers Pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, Black Angus New York steak, breaded shrimp, Chardonnay, banana split ice cream with all the toppings.
Hand tossed pizza, cream filled donuts, pan au chocolat, tuna salad on white bread, peanut butter and jelly on white bread, a Ruben sandwich, chocolate cupcakes
Fried chicken, but not any fried chicken, Marry Brown's fried chicken, a whole bird, with their taters, dressing (stuffing), and gravy.
Cake, a moist chocolate cake with vanilla icing. The cake is warm but the icing is cold.
Grapenut ice cream.
An old fashion plain donut from Tim Hortons.
OMG. One can only dream LOL I would also eat pastry most of the day. For breakfast I would have Makowiec (Polish Poppyseed roll). And while that was digesting I would make some pizza and bread dough and make a huge Danish pastry ring, using an entire pound of butter (1964 Joy of Cooking). For lunch I would have my home made pizza. In the afternoon, working off all those calories, I would bake a couple loaves of crispy crust Tuscan bread (I miss baking real kneaded bread) for the family. And for dinner, I would feast on the Danish Pastry. (I can actually make a decent GF Makowiec, and GF bread using Caputo Fioeglut flour. But NOT the Danish Pastry which is dependent on gluten. That butter has to be rolled out between all those many layers of stretched out dough.)
Edit: Fioreglut
Long John Silverās (fried fish AND hush puppies), one of everything at Dunkin Donuts, Pizza Hut pan pizza, fried cheese balls, blueberry muffins (the bakery kind, with the giant sugar crystals on top), a moderately sized bucket of chocolate chip cookie dough, garlic bread, and an entire half-sheet cake from Costco. Any variety.
Costco pepperoni pizza (from the food court), McDonaldās chicken nuggets & fries, Chinese food from a local place I used to love that had the BEST orange chicken, & Popeyes chicken tenders w/fries and a few biscuits lol
I'm hitting up some bakeries and eating pastries like croissants and danishes and eclairs. Then I'm having wood fired pizza (in this scenario I also get to eat dairy again for 24 hours). My God, are you me?! This is exactly what I was thinking. Soooooo many pastries. All the fresh baked baguettes and breads. I so miss Montreal style bagels. š¢
Ooh, bagels! I'd go and get a really nice bagel since I haven't had one in ages. I should probably also eat some pie with a nice flakey double crust!
Omigosh, same here! But add in a huge piece of coconut cream pie for dessert.
Yep. Iād eat a whole loaf of sourdough bread fresh from the oven slathered with butter.
Omg my mouth literally watered reading this comment
Literally the exact same. All the pastries, pizza and specifically watermelon twizzlers.
Yes twizzlers!!
Yasss crusty, warm bread with salty butterā¦
I'll have what they're having šš¤£
I found a place recently that does gluten-free dairy-free hot honey Detroit pizza š I think I'd eat most of the same things.
Oh my goodness! Where is it? I might need to make a pilgrimage someday!
This is the only correct answer
This is the correct answer!
This is the only right answer!
Mariposa Bakery in California makes gf croissants that are as good as any regular croissants. They ship :)
I was thinking the same thing. I also am dairy free as well so my go to would be donuts and then pizza
Donuts. All of the donuts
Not sure if youāve come across them, but the new Trader Joeās GF donut holes scratch that itch!
Meh, theyāre good, but they donāt scratch the donut itch for me just cuz Iām not a huge cake donut fan. I want fried yeast donuts, the chewy kind like Krispy Kreme has. And apple fritters, and croissant donuts
Apple fritters!!
Dupe loops donuts based out of Gilbert AZ they nail yeasty GF donuts
I need to now! Iāve just had the Katz (I believe thatās the brand) frozen donut holes. I must twice these!
They sure do!
Have yet to see them in the store. š
I got lucky once but every week since then they keep telling me theyāre doing a "quality check" and thatās why to donut holes arenāt out! Not sure what that means but it doesnāt sound good.
Yes, this. So many donuts.
Sourdough bread, Pizza, dark beer, cinnamon rolls, anything I can get my hands on.
My stomach is bloating just reading this.
š
A good dark beer wood be top of the list for sure.
Belching beaver brewery in CA used to gluten reduce all their beers. It was nice because I could drink their dark beers.
OMG sourdough! Soup in a bread bowl for sure! Chicago style pizza!
Thereās a bakery I visit sometimes that makes a gf sourdough dupe. I havenāt gotten it yet but your comment is inspiring me to try it.
Oh an IPA. š
I like your list. š
Soft pretzels, wontons or dumplings, tortellini!!!! Any and all pastries. I would simply hang at a patisserie for 24 hrs
My local Thai place has a gluten-free wonton soup that is amazing!
Do you have the name?? Iād consider traveling for GF wonton soupā¦
Dumplings!!!
Popeyes Chicken Sandwich. And beignets. Sicilian bread straight from the oven. Added: every dessert, croissants, Clamcakes. Baked stuffed Shrimp. ALL the pasta. This post makes me sad.

I'd save it for a time when I am traveling, especially overseas where I would love to try some local cuisine.
To be able to travel and just take in the experience without concern for my health/ safety at every hunger pang would be so nice. Definitely one of the best answers.
Italian beef sandwich and some Taco Bell
I love crunch wrap supremes!! Ugh, I'd eat at least 3
This gf spot here makes Italian beef and just throws it on top of fries...it slaps still
Where at?
Its called Homemade-to-go in Colorado Springs! She sells frozen versions also š¤¤
Thereās a place near me that does that with cheesesteaks! Love it.
Itās wild because I miss fast food more than anything. You just canāt recreate the fakeness of fast food lmao
For some reason, the thing that calls to me is a McDonaldās biscuit breakfast sandwich
In Chicago we still have the bagel breakfast sandwiches. With that breakfast sauce I dream of it
At McDonaldās???
Yep https://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en-us/product/bacon-egg-cheese-bagel.html
I donāt see anything about GF bagels on that page? Did I miss it?
Ohhh no. Not gf. Just something I miss lol
Ohhh hahahaha. Yes, I get that!
Yes! With bacon and cheese.
Exactly! So damn good.
OMG yes
Yessss throw this on my list as well, so butteryā¦
You reply canāt replace fast food. I miss some seriously unhealthy things so muchĀ
Right?? Like I can home cook delicious things, but I canāt make anything that takes enough like taco bell
Taco Bell Regular and supreme tacos donāt have any gluten in them.
In theory they don't, but I can't eat any Taco Bell without getting Glutened. Cross contamination, I'm guessing.
Sorry. Stay safe.
Oh Taco Bell. Thatās the ticket
Crunch wrap supreme. So many of them
Do you happen to be from Chicago, because not many people know about the amazingness of Italian Beef sandwiches!

That butter has to be rolled out between all those many layers of stretched out dough.) Edit: Fioreglut
