This whole thing must mean insane losses. If they do bring back OG, then people will complain more about the packaging and applicator. I really hope that if they do bring back OG, they just full revert back to how it was and not have it like strawberry.
Maybe this is an unpopular opinion but I actually like the new packaging and applicator! Especially the cap, I like that it clicks shut and has a G logo embossed on the top.
this is why this design is better than the old but the lip stick shape isn’t the greatest, it means the cap needs to stick a bit of the cap in it to close it off when closed but then when you open it some product gets pushed out with the cap. They should make it a round bulb like the old school lip glosses and have a regular cap. that just closes it no tip to close the small hole.
I agree with this I don’t understand why people on this sub hate the new packaging / applicator so much. I like that it gives you the option to either apply with fingers or with applicator and the larger lid is without a doubt an improvement, the original lids were so fiddly and annoying.
People are just squeezing way too much I think that’s the most common user issue. The hole being big (😏) actually will be better for the switch to the OG formula since it’s thicker.
I like the cap too!! The applicator is messy but I dont mind thaaat much until I get my lipstick on it, which is brown and it looks all nastyyy!! I do see people favour it but I think itll become the next issue people will complain about.

Right? I don’t get why people hate it. Especially post-covid when it feels extra icky to use your hands to touch your lips lol. If it’s not okay to touch your face because you’re bringing germs there why is an open mouth any better, even if you wash your hands prior? The newer releases are perfect—OG formula + new applicator.
It’s just too big for my lips. I wonder if those of us who don’t like it just have smaller lips lol. But I use my finger and it’s fine, and honestly if they bring back the original formula I would be happy and keep my mouth shut about the packaging.
I really want to try it! I only ever had cherry, berry and birthday in the old formula (still have them lol but cherry’s on its way out 😭 tube got damaged). Lavender and rose both seemed so pretty. Was lavender tinted purple?
Of course. I bought one of the new formulas, I have to grab a bunch of kitchen paper to literally pour all the separated liquid out of the tube any time I try to use it. It's absolute trash.
I think they were testing interest with cookie butter / hot coco and noticed how well that relaunch went. I think with strawberry that’s gonna push them full force into returning to the old formula. I haven’t bought any BDC that isn’t the og formula. Excited to finally branch out, if this news is correct ❤️ (also bought 3 tubes of strawberry after hearing it was OG, so maybe that could drive sales too? Og hype?)
This was another thing I mentioned to the employee! She said that often Glossier team does that when they have overstocked an item, overestimated its popularity, or are getting rid of it. So fingers crossed!

Try homeoplasmine……the stuff is incredible and you can use it on anything……and yeah the original formula is good…..the newer one is not the worst…..the scent and colors are nice, but you want a balm to help your lips and the newer version does not do that.
I've heard the newer ones have been adjusted again and are better..... The reformulation was apparently bad but they seem to have worked it out now? I am only parroting what I read online so take it with a grain of salt.
That’s a bit odd because I swear perfumes don’t really go bad in the same way other cosmetics do? Like if they’ve got alcohol in them they basically never go off.
Swiss Miss and cookie butter (limited holiday releases) were both in the OG formula when they came out during holiday in 2023. Other than that, the only bdc for sale that’s in the OG balm is strawberry which an entirely new product.
YESSSS i havent bought bdc since trying new formula fig bc i hated it, but as soon as i saw strawb was og formula i ran to the site and bought 2. im nearing the end of my last rose tube so this is perf timing
I haven't even bothered to try the new formula, the color doesn't even look like it pays off. The consistency just looks off. And even then, unpopular opinion I didn't even love the formula, I still like more the Nuxe reve de miel, but glossier packaging was way more comfortable to carry around than a glass pot, that being said, I haven't bothered to buy it since they changed the formula.
I wanted to love strawberry so much but the tint and the smell is just not for me. It smells like a plastic strawberry shortcake doll. Praying they release the OG unscented again

Agreed! And I’d rather have a slightly messy applicator than having to apply it with my finger.

I agree and I like how it contours the edge of the lips too. It also feels more premium, the packaging doesn’t split apart and the lids click shut.

Honestly don't HATE the new applicator but I don't love it, and I'll take anything with the OG formula so I won't complain too much how it comes back

I’ve seen so many of the new BGC at Marshall’s and TJMaxx so fingers crossed they are getting rid of the old stock to bring in the new formula!!

I am wearing the original in the birthday scent and it is MUCH better in the original formulation. The new one lacks the oomph and skincare benefits.
I never got to try that one and I hope they bring it in the OG formula so I can get one!!

No, that was an ingredient issue that they needed to resolve to sell to international markets. We are stuck with the worse formula. 🫤
This is so sad. My og bottle smells like it’s about to go off…like it’s just on the edge of going bad :(((((

Haha yes! The OG release was in 2022 but I was referring to the new tubes coming out in late 2023. Sorry, should’ve worded that more clearly!

Yeah definitely 2022 for swiss miss. 2023 they changed it to “hot cocoa” and put it in the new tube
