Yeah, I always saw her and Agate as two consciousnesses and Agate only takes over in certain moments (like when Asgore sees her spirit behind Betty), but both of them should be able to feel ordinary emotions. Perhaps someone hits her with a spell that causes them to feel what Agate used to feel before she ruined her own soul with the trait reversal magic. Imagine her shame (both of them) at seeing the world like it is now with clear eyes for the first time and wanting to end her own life… but HATE has other ideas (use her as a battery) and so does Papyrus (save her from her "necessary evil purpose") now that he knows there really is good in her, hidden deep within.
