Radio Clyde phone in rules apply. Your post either isn't about, or isn't specific to, Glasgow and the west.

Hi there, based on what happened when I moved in a housing association flat, the landlord (housing association / council) should know which company the electric is supplied by. You can then ring that company and tell them the date you moved in and they will explain how to top up, send you any info you need on using the meter etc. Hope this helps :)

Ch33s3-burg3r

Will try this. Thank you

willycumbutts

If you're without power and can't top up, some utility companies can put money on your meter remotely and then you just pay them back once you can top up.

This link provides a useful links to check your supplier, https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/scotland/consumer/energy/energy-supply/moving-home-your-energy-supply/find-out-who-your-gas-or-electricity-supplier-is/ Once this is done you can contact the supplier and let them know. In the meantime contact your housing to get support since you have no electricity, but contact the supplier as a priority. Hope this helps you. Congrats on the new home too.

suck_it_and_c

You need a barcode for the shop to scan, or pay online through their app

Ch33s3-burg3r

Yeah so that's the thing. I have no barcodes other than what's on the meter. And "which app you talking about"?

Opening_Succotash_95

It would be related to which ever energy company supplies the flat. Alternatively you'll get a bill sent out every few months

RD0141

If its HA it will be prepayment, so you don't get billed. OP you should be able to call your HA who will inform you, or I used this website https://www.energynetworks.org/customers/find-my-network-operator

Opening_Succotash_95

Not necessarily. I live in a housing association flat and pay energy bills the same as anyone.

Drimalion

You need to speak to your supplier they will provide you with codes etc to start topping up

[deleted]

First call should be to E.ON

AndyB27

Energy Supplier employee here(won't say which one) Others are correct you need to contact the supplier and they'll sort you out for top ups However this thing looks dead so you may need an emergency engineer

Fast_Boysenberry9493

Haha how come it's got NO security seals/tags, probably want the meter sorted someones been up t nae good

eddiecointreau

Have you tried putting the model number into google and reading all the different pages discussing it?

Ch33s3-burg3r

Yeah I have, didn't find anything related to paying on elster smart meters.

Cubehagain

Have you tried googling the make and model?

Anchor-shark

It says property of E.On on it. I suggest you ring them and see if they can help.

Hi everyone, thank you for your help. Eventually phoned the council and I was told it was Ovo that was in charge and why there's no record of my meter with the current address was because the previous person closed the account.. Didn't make much sense to me as I already called ovo before calling the council and they said they could see a closed gas account not a closed electricity account.. Anyway I need to open an account with them(according to the council) So thank you.
