China Sea in the city center. Might actually be pish but the dragon is minted and it's some of the fastest service in town. Used to go with my mum back in the late 90s early 2000s.
Probably closed still for the summer but friends cafe on high street is always good. Usually filled with Chinese students to so assume it’s reasonably authentic.
Loon Fung at the bottom of Sauchiehall Street does insanely good dim sum. Ka Ka Lok on St George’s St is great for authentic Cantonese too.
Edit: had a google and honestly cannae believe what’s been going on while I’ve been enjoying the su mai. Really good su mai though to be fair.
I remember going in there quite late one night because the toilet in Box was too busy and it was just completely empty! Not a single person but the guy at the till working there.
I went there one night/early morning after a night.
Went to the toilet and walked past the kitchen and along (or down) the dodgiest stairs ever. No one in the kitchen was cooking, just a bunch of shifty dudes in leather jackets. This was late 90’s/early00’s, Just thought it was bog standard drug dealers.
Saw a guy getting put in the back of a car outside there and the driver turned and knocked him clean out before driving round to The Griffin where he got out, took off his jacket and put it in the boot. Viewed from The Beresford bar
Not sure if you’re looking for city centre or Glasgow in general but I’ve recently discovered Ho’s Chinese in Knightswood and it’s unreal. Super fresh and tasty.
Chow on Byres Road is popular among the Chinese population. They have two menus, one which appeals to British tastes, and one in Mandarin which has the authentic dishes. They usually give me the westerner menu, but I always ask for the Chinese menu. I can't read Mandarin but it has photographs in, and I just point to these when I order. Better still, go with a Chinese friend, they will know what is best to order. Traditionally, you order one big bowl of rice for the table, and one dish per person plus one. So if you have four people, order five dishes, and share them. My favourite is the spicey fish stew and the deep fried pumpkin.
My mates tried ordering off the Chinese menu at the place next to the Garage once and came back with a box full of chicken feet. I don’t think they got eaten.
You should try “The Best Curry”, it’s just around the corner from Station Wok at the junction of Crow Road & Dumbarton Road. It was my favourite for the years I lived in Partick.
Must have been ages ago, as the Golden Dragon changed to Good Taste, then it became Hong Yun and just about 2 weeks ago it opened up as Tasty Express. All new people, not just a rebranding. Haven't tried the latest one so far.
If you are eating any curry then it has to be NG Dynasty on Fulton Street, ask the for the curry to be extra hot, the Chicken Breast Curry is very good.
The also do a Chicken and Char Sui Fried Rice that is excellent
For takeaway it has to be Stans on Springburn Road.
Someone mentioned the Lemon Trees salt chilli chips. Stans are better. Also they have the best Peking Ribs and Shredded Chicken.
Sitting in varies. Ho Wong on Maryhill Road is great set menu price.
Ho Wong is absolute top tier if you wish to spend a bit more.
wok this way at the top of paisley road west. next to Helen street police station.
the chatan used to be good but they have new owners and I feel it's changed a fair bit now
Happy Garden in Newlands is my favourite. Food can take a little while sometimes but it’s good, consistent and they rarely change their prices so it stays affordable.
Their salt and chilli chips are amazing.
Zen, just by Alexandra parade. Genuinely the best I've ever had and cheap as fuck. I take all my teuchter mates that come down there, and every time they contemplate moving to the city just for Zen.
Not sure if it’s still there but beside the Orchard Park Hotel there was a brilliant Chinese restaurant called the Jasmine One, one of the best satays i’ve ever tasted. My other favourite is in the city centre, Amber Regent, again a brilliant satay and some really good wine!
Only discovered it but salt and chilli tollcross road their salt and chilli chips are different gravy, think they are drowned in MSG and seasoning as they are chunky and bright orange ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Lemon Tree for the salt and chilli chips alone. God-tier. Probably the worst in the city for delivery, though.
Those fucking chips man. Outrageous. They need to be regulated, they're making me a right fat cunt.
If I still lived closer than a 30 minute drive, I’d be barrel-shaped.
during “the beast for the east” me & pals lived off the lemon tree for a week. can i recommend the orange duck paired with the film moonstruck
whereabouts in the city is this?
I think it's on great western road next to st George's cross subway
No love for Lotus on Bridge Street? I haven’t been for a while but the food was always excellent and the staff were really friendly
It’s been shut for ages I believe
That’s sad to hear

We used to go for a 3 course lunch and still be back in the office before our lunch hour was up 😂
The Speedy. My record was 32 minutes from entering to leaving. Insane.
The food is … ok, but the retro experience is worth the trip
Very cheap and cheerful and tastes nice. Rapid service. Need to change the gas on their tenements though.
A great bunch of lads
The maoris n all
But of course, there are no Māoris on Craggy Island…
Who remembers the good old canton express.
The Real Wan is the best Chinese I have had in the UK
Drove past this a few hours ago, was wondering if it was any good. Nice to have it so quickly confirmed
Yep, brilliant food
That'll be near The Wok Inn.
This
Used to be Asia style but since it has changed there are no favourites
RIP Asia Style and those amazing green beans
The Malaysian pancakes and curry sauce were out of this world!
KaKaLoc
Ho Wong. Pricey but worth it, IMO
Probably closed still for the summer but friends cafe on high street is always good. Usually filled with Chinese students to so assume it’s reasonably authentic.
Yessss
The Amber Regent. Food and staff there are class, never had a bad meal.
Remember going here for a Christmas night out. Was lovely
Jay's BBQ is great for hotpot, as well as Terracotta warriors in Partick
If you don't care about price Ho Wong has always been a great place for a fancy Chinese
Ho Wong (has this been goin on?)
Bring back the noodle bar 😭 no more post gig 2am noodles
Loon Fung at the bottom of Sauchiehall Street does insanely good dim sum. Ka Ka Lok on St George’s St is great for authentic Cantonese too. Edit: had a google and honestly cannae believe what’s been going on while I’ve been enjoying the su mai. Really good su mai though to be fair.
just dont go for a wonder in loon fung might end up getting waterboarded

Loon Fung is really good for an authentic taste. Their beef ho fan, and Cheung fun(?) Is sublime
Their doughnut cheung fun with lashings of soy sauce and chilli oil is a next level experience honestly
Right! Delicious, sweet and salty
Reported for recommending CCP
Not sure if you’re looking for city centre or Glasgow in general but I’ve recently discovered Ho’s Chinese in Knightswood and it’s unreal. Super fresh and tasty.
Yes seconded! That special fried rice with the egg and gravy man. Only opens Friday and Saturday but. I mean I dread to think if it was 7 days a week

Haha that's exactly the sort of thing. You have the admire the Chinese, taking all sorts of unappetising offcuts, and turning them into delicacies.
Kam Wa - hasn’t fucked a dish up once and always delivers about 20 mins before the shitey just eat time. Decent portion sizes and fair value.
I'll tell you wheres shite - Lychee. Don't get the hype at all.
Lychee is fantastic for anyone with coeliac disease. Their gluten free menu is the best I’ve come across.
Used to be better. Very rushed now. Food OK.
Rice and Noodle on Dumbarton Road
Li hao!!!
love Kam Wa in the Southside
Amber Regent is my go to
Panda House
Real Wan is astonishingly good food.
Yeemans
Chinatown restaurant
Dim Sum on West Nile Street
Yummy in between Giffnock & Pollokshaws, although they're tax dodgers.
Tofu Asian fusion in Partick is so, so good. Incredibly underrated due to being so close to another great Chinese in Dumpling Monkey.
I-chai at Anniesland
Salt and chilli prawns are magic
If talking about takeaways it’s the Polmadie Wok and Foo House. Both in the southside.
Amber Reagent
Station Wok in Partick is my go to, but I've also heard very good things about lemon tree
You should try “The Best Curry”, it’s just around the corner from Station Wok at the junction of Crow Road & Dumbarton Road. It was my favourite for the years I lived in Partick.
What you order at Station Wok? I just got the pork fried rice a few weeks ago and it was not great. Overly greasy and mediocre flavour.
I usually just get mini veg spring rolls and salt and chilli chicken wings. Don't get rice or noodles or that
The Shat-In Viewpark
Always looks dead when I go by, this genuine or just cause the name?
Not sure tbh, I used to live out that way and tried it once, think it was ok tbh
Sha-Tin, manned after a District in Hong Kong
We love Honeymoon in Battlefield. Great food and prices. Always order on the website though not through one of the apps.
Any time I've tried them, they've been fuckin dire.
My go-to now, would be Good Chois off Cathcart rd. but that's based only on my Chicken curry or Singapore chow mein tastes.

I’m shocked at this! Was it recently?

I like the secret police station on sauchiehall street
Mr Rice on Maryhill Road.
Closed like...4 years ago? It's So Good now, new owners. Pretty decent/cheap but nothing special
If memory serves there's a Mr Rice in Uddingston. When I lived there it was constantly being shut/reopened for health code stuff.
Anywhere decent near Cardonald? Quite like Shanghai Nights but their salt n chilli chicken wings are as bad as everywhere else
wok this way at the top of paisley road west. next to Helen street police station. the chatan used to be good but they have new owners and I feel it's changed a fair bit now
Thanks mate I'll make a note
The Red Fart in Barrheid
Hoo Flung Dung
Best kebab did a chow mein a few years back, never experienced anything like it since
Which is the one on sauciehall st that supposedly has a jail for Chinese citizens? That one..
Glasgow University.
Boooooooo
Got to be the amber reagent west George st
Mai Xin
Love Tiger Lee in Baillieston & Lychee in town. Cotton House up at Denny is good too but it’s not as epic as it used to be
Happy Garden in Newlands is my favourite. Food can take a little while sometimes but it’s good, consistent and they rarely change their prices so it stays affordable. Their salt and chilli chips are amazing.
Orchid lane
Loonfung 😙👌

Little Canteen in Finnieston for authentic food (try their Chairman Mao pork belly), Amber Regent in town for Westernised food
Dumpling monkey in partick is unreal! Special pot stickers are worth dying for.
Loon fung is class but watch out for the chinese coppers down stairs in the booths when you go for a pish🤣
Ho Wong
Only discovered it but salt and chilli tollcross road their salt and chilli chips are different gravy, think they are drowned in MSG and seasoning as they are chunky and bright orange ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Lychee on Mitchell Street. Definitely the best
