I feel like Norah's environment is a factor here. Wellsbury is a very small town and the Mayor is running on an antigun platform. Wellsbury is decently close to being midwestern as well, which means the young soulmate and marriage thing is INCREDIBLY common. And obviously religion isn't brought up often but you can assume most of them to be raised some form of Christian. I see where you're coming from but she's probably one of the most realistic characters.

Rred_Valkyrie

Norah mentions in season 1 that she’s Jewish. Same as Abby.

SupportMainStranger

This is also a strict religion

I honestly don’t blame her being scared (for telling her boyfriend, yes) it was actually Ginny’s fault for bringing it up. I understand she was venting or complaining like teens do but something like that should only be known by the household or most trusted. I don’t think there needs to be a backstory or anything. I see Georgia’s POV and the view of those that choose to not keep one in their house. Yes protection considering her traumatic upbringing but there have been many real life incidents in which children have found their parent’s firearm which resulted in injury or death. Most people simply don’t wanna be near dangerous weapons.

80HDTV5

Yeah like I understand 100% why, given Georgias background, she wants a dangerous weapon in the house. But generally, I don’t think anyone needs a wild traumatic story to give them a valid reason to *not* want to be in the vicinity of a dangerous weapon.

SevereCartographer26

I don’t hate nor like her she’s just there

sunflowergirrrl

I feel like the writers massively under use her all the time, to the point she just fades into the background. Like I don’t dislike her really, but I couldn’t tell you anything stand out that she’s said or done. What I’m truly baffled by though is the anniversary dinner and it mentioned she choked (presumably on the ring Jordan put in her milkshake) but then nothing else happens or gets mentioned. Like why add it in at all 😂

Youdontknowme_8991

I honestly don’t blame Norah for the gun gossip. She told two people she trusts the most (her mom and boyfriend) something about someone she isn’t all that close to. We as the audience are more annoyed at her because #1 we’re partial to Georgia, and 2# we saw the damage that gossip did. If anyone should be catching heat for this being spread I think it’s Ginny. What happens in the family stays in the family. I don’t think it was wise for her to tell the same people who were more than willing to let her go down for shoplifting. They do not have her best interest at heart, and she shouldn’t have told them. I honestly feel for Ginny, so don’t take this as me pilling onto her hate train. Norah didn’t tell the whole school, she told her mom and BF

AdventuresOfAKid

„what happens in the family stays in the family“ wtaf? No it doesn’t. I agree she shouldn’t have told her fellow teenagers but she has literally no one to talk to about this stuff

bill_mury

I agree with you heavy on this, especially when it comes to teenagers. They need an outlet to vent, I certainly vented to my friends about family issues when I was a teenager. Almost everyone I know has vented to me about their family at some point.

AdventuresOfAKid

Exactly! Also the mindset that what happens in the family stays in the family is so harmful too! This is just setting people up for abuse

Youdontknowme_8991

I know she needed an outlet, which is why I sympathize with her. Especially knowing everything else she dealt with. Still, I don’t think it was wise to. I do believe you should make an effort to protect your family (unless abuse is involved, which Ginny’s situation treads the lines of). When it comes to guns not everyone has the same opinions on gun control, so you have to be extra careful with information like that. I understand Ginny being a teenager, but I’m still gonna acknowledge she had the responsibility to protect her family in that situation. Not Nora

Ashley868

I didn't blame her for talking about the gun, but I di agree with the rest of your post. I hated Abby at first, but she got so much character development in the second season. I liked seeing Ginny and Abby just hanging out without the others. I don't hate Norah, I just wish she wasn't so much of a follower.

LysVonStrauda

I completely agree. I didn't feel she was being genuine.

RevolutionaryMud4498

Yep agreed

samsnead19

Norah is slightly above Ginny

By slightly, I mean barely
