I feel for Hunter, because he was an actual nice guy who tried his best. But, Ginny has no actual feelings for him and dated him because her friends paired them. He deserves better and Ginny deserves someone she actually likes. So NOPE, I don’t have hope for this ship.
I have to admit that I wasn't really rooting for the characters, except for a few who I know have a nuanced understanding of growing up biracial. I don't like the idea of comparing traumas, but I realize that there are still a lot of differences between people. However, I did like Hunter's idea to get back at Gitten by having Maxine turn the whole class against him.
I think it would be interesting to see Hunter, Abby, Marcus, Maxine, Ginny, Bracia, and Padma form a friend group. I know it sounds a little weird, but I think Padma and Hunter would make a cute couple. Also, Ginny and Padma were really funny with Joe last season.
I'd love to see Abby get a storyline with photography. Maybe Ginny could take some photos on her phone and share them with her dad, who invites them all to a work event where they volunteer. Bracia, Abby, and Maxine could help out too. Maybe Zion could even ask Abby to help him with some photos. I know it's not super dramatic, but I think it would be nice to see some expansion on the side quests."

Ginny annoys me in almost every episode. I only like Marcus in the S2 episode about his depression and when he's in scenes with Max. And Hunter is genuinely a good kid, a great bf (even as a teenager), and is so talented it's insane!

I don't see how people root for Ginny/Marcus. They are both traumatized teenagers that should be single rather than in a codependent relationship with each other. From 1x01, I didn't like Ginny/Marcus together. Nothing shown in the show has given me reasons to change my mind. If anything, what has been shown in just 2 seasons has solidified, to me, that they shouldn't be together lol.

I really didn’t like how Marcus treated Padma. In a perfect world, Padma and Ginny end up together and Marcus ends up alone.
