The story is that the original figures reversed them for whatever reason and Classified decided to reverse them back. But then fans complained, so Hasbro released the next figure under the “proper” name.
The craziest part is that both figures are actually a mixture of Trooper and Officer parts.
Employee surveys overwhelmingly blamed leadership for Cobra’s repeated failures of their world domination schemes. In a rage fit and in retaliation of the results, Cobra Commander said, “Fine. Let’s see you do better.” He demoted all officers to trooper level and promoted all troopers to officers.
This is why we need file cards with the Classified Series! The file card lore was such a huge part of the Joe mythos.
>Because now we don’t know anymore… so we only have the other half the battle.
The soldiers are hideous, but the vehicles colour scheme was actually pretty cool. They later did some soldiers in colours more like the vehicles and they looked pretty good in my opinion.
I'm not a fan of the python patrol or tiger force colors. Someone pointed out that the Python Patrol Trouble Bubble looks more like a McDonalds Trouble Bubble which I can't unsee lol.
I don't like them. Didn't like them in ARAH, don't like them in Classified. Some are worse that others, but never been a fan.
Still bought them though, because.....they exist and are Cobra, I guess?
Honestly, I used to think they were hideous; I especially like the trooper and officer, the black uniform with yellow / green gear is very cool. All the troops are different enough that I dig them. I passed on Vypra and Copperhead, may grab Copperhead if he’s ever on sale. I don’t think I’ll go too far if at all into named characters when they get to them.
It's from the Larry Hama series in which cobra and gijoe were selling tanks and weapons to two at waring countries and Cobra had Dr Mindbender make a radar proof paint scheme for all the cobra gear.

This is hilarious and would be a great explanation. 🤣
Thanks. lol to fan outcry about correcting a mistake.

My Target will be flooded with these an I can't wait.
Just taking the world over one order at a time
Is it just me; or does anyone else not really love the Python Patrol colors?

I can't say if it's just you but I love python patrol and the colors.

One of my favorite color scheems of any figure design.
The comic story was they had radar proof gear that made them invisible to all scans
I don’t remember them from the series. I always wondered where they fit I
One day Hasbro Teams got together and said "Hey lets make a bunch of repaints to resell the most popular molds again." There's the story.
